Bumper gel skin case generic - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I wasn't finding many bumper cases besides aluminum versions out there so I decided to try out a generic one I found on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170818419766&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:US:1123
It was $5.99 including shipping. They have a few other colors available. The description is for "Samsung Galaxy Note i9220, n7000", but it fits the i717 great.

The black rubber buttons over the volume and power buttons make everything easy to press.
I like how the black outlines the front of the Note. The case fits mostly snug although mine is a little loose at the top (giving a slight wave on the black as it runs along the top)
I wasn't sure about white on white, but I think it works.
I had a SGP Neo Hybrid EX on my GSII and loved it. This case is definitely not as good quality, but is good for the money and will do until I find just the right one.
Edit: After several weeks of use, my only complaint is the soft black rubber can come apart from the harder white plastic. A little super glue takes care of it. I use it in a car mount that squeezes on the sides so that probably makes the problem worse.

Looks pretty good, I'm definitely interested. Why is that top corner exposed though? Maybe put a zagg full body or something on it and you'd be pretty secure.
How tight is it? I have a GLAS.t glass screen protector and I wonder if it would still fit.

It is flexible and while snug not tight so I don't think another 0.4mm thickness would cause problems.
My SGP Neo Hybrid EX for the GSII (I bought the non-US version of the case because I didn't want to wait ) had the same open area on the corner. I believe some countries have an option for an external or retractable antenna that pops out there.

I didn't even know such a product existed. I found a few others on ebay. I'm thinking of getting a less bulky case. Right now I'm using the seidio active. I'm afraid of breaking anything because I dropped it the first week and cracked my screen ($200 replacement!) so I bought the glass screen protector for my new one. I think this would be the perfect level of protection and still keep it looking good and slim. I'm not as worried about the battery cover as you can just buy a new one for $13 off eBay.

Thanks for the review and the link. It's nice to see that this is a US seller with excellent feedback score.

Antenna for Korea. The i9220 is their version. Case looks nice, I like the bumper look...but still has the lip to protect it

I took my case on and off a few times over the weekend playing with uSD cards and another battery. I noticed one corner of the case looked funny (it came up over the screen more than it should). The black soft rubbery material had pulled away from the white harder material on that corner. A little super glue fixed it, but thought I would let others know. Still OK for a total of $5.99. If anyone finds a quality TPU/rubber type bumper case, please post a link.

good find...just bought one!

I also just ordered one! $6? Worth a shot at that price...

review: case-mate w/ stand for gs2

purchased from amazon.com for $32.48 USD including shipping and handling.
i personally love the case. its not as bulky as everyone says it is. the GS2 is a lil too slim in my opinion and this case makes it a suitable size for me. fitment is almost perfect...i say almost because it seems like the hole for the speakers are slightly misaligned(shown in the picture below). the camera, 3.5mm jack and the micro usb holes are a perfect fit. the volume and power buttons are easy to press while in the casing. the black shiny plastic is very durable, but does show smudges if you have greasy or oily hands. the cool grey rubber provides grip and is placed perfectly along the sides and frontal rim of the casing. here are some pics:

I saw this in the AT&T store and tried it out with my phone, very nice case made 110% to fit the GSII but it ends up being VERY thick pretty and about 1.5x the thickness of the phone itself thus eliminating the thinness of this phone. If you don't mind the thickness or really need the protection then it's a great case for you.
had exact same case for my Thrill. I loved it, but like what aquarianperry mentioned above, it does make feel a little bulky. kick stand was pretty useful when it was needed
Yeah don't like the added thickness. I really hope they come out with the body glove case like the one for the cappy, one of the best cases -)

I agree! I had the BodyGlove case for my Captivate and I loved it. Sleek and smooth yet durable.
using it now- makes the phone thick but it is durable and sturdy
kickstand will come in handy when i want to eat and watch tv shows at lunch
I find the kickstand to be really useful when I'm laying down with the phone on my chest.
I ordered that same case in white from Amazon on Sunday!.. I had that same case on my LG thrill and I absolutely loved the kick stand..

Does this come with a holster, or has someone found a compatible one i.e. Platinum ?
an INFUSION of REALITY
I've got this (they totally saw me coming - got the Moshi iVisor screen protector as well) and in spite of the extra bulk, I love it. I had the Body Glove on the Cappy and wouldn't mind one similar for the GS2, but the kickstand on this totally rocks! AND I'm a klutz, so a little extra protection certainly isn't bad in my case (heheh, no pun intended).
I have a white one n it's great...
review and pics now included in original post
Doesn't it block the top mic? The mic on top is behind the headphone port almost on the edge.
I've already dropped my GS2 5-7 times pretty hard, phone is perfect and case takes a good beating. Makes the phone thick, but I don't care. Wish this thing was easier to take out of a jean pocket, but those rubber sides grip like crazy. Other than that, love the stand, feels like I'm going to break the stand but I love it. Had my GS2 for a few days before I went to get a case for it, almost dropped it once, then got smart.
This one blocks the secondary mic as well.
no no no no no
Got mine from an AT&T COR Store... It has a big cutout for the headphones and mic unlike that black one posted by OP
I love this case btw! I didn't think I'd like it at first because I thought the POP case for the Infuse and Thrill were way too bulky.
I find this to be slightly bigger than "perfect size" which is fine with me. It doesn't add that much weight either.
The kickstand also works great in the car when I use the phone for GPS Navigation LOL
I was asking because I have the white version too and the cutouts are different than the black one from the OP. Mines exactly like the post above me.
I got a black one from Amazon last week (CM014637).
Looks the same as the OP however all the cut-outs are different. There's nothing over the volume and the top and bottom aren't blocking the mics. (Just like the white version above).
why is there a hole above the volume rocker in the OP's case? what purpose could that serve?
i have the exact same case... but my holes/cutouts are very different.

HTC Amaze Matte BLACK Hard Snap On

Hey All. Got my Amaze yesterday and its already up and running on the Energy ROM with faux kernal; thanks to those respective devs. With the flashing out of the way for now, time to look into some cases. As everyone is aware, amaze is not the lightest or thinnest phone, so a case with minimal weight would be desireable. I ran into a matte snap on case from ebay, wanted to know if anyone here has any feedback on these. I am not going after the price (I am open to spend whatever for the ideal case), but more so on the "thin" part. Sadly, I can't post the url due to my noob status, but its easily searchable under "Matte BLACK Hard Snap On Thin Back Case Cover For HTC T-Mobile Amaze 4G".
Looking forward to being part of the Amaze community!
I have a two piece black rubberized case on my one amaze, and a one piece hard case on the other one. Both are light, and fit pretty good. the two piece fits tighter, and has cutouts for all the mic holes on the back cover etc. and they all line up. its just a cheap ebay case. And both are thin. Any cheapie case you get on ebay will be light, and the best part is after a couple months just pay $3-5 and get a new one.
The one piece doesen't cover the top and bottom of the phone, just the sides, so it won't protect as well as the two piece, and if I ever have to pop the two piece apart to get at the back cover, it comes apart easy.
I'd get a cheap two piece, try it out. if you need more protection, then upgrade, but i'd start at ebay.
Be careful with some of the cheap ebay snap-on cases. I got one for a previous phone that was front and back pieces that snapped together. It was thin and looked OK but it would pop open when dropped and the phone would come out and land unprotected. It was ok for scratch protection and keeping the screen off the table but provided very little to zero drop protection.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I have to consider the drop protection. When I was searching youtube for cases, the videos were showing cases which was huge. Yes it protects the phone, but it’s very uncomfortable to carry around. Might have to try some on from the local mall kiosk if anything.
I just went with a cheap ebay case from eforcecity and I'm satisfied. I think I paid $6 shipped and it came with a screen protector.
I got one from ebay that is really good, it comes with a holster. Trust me, thiz isnt like the ones that are cheap made and snaps when minimal force aplied to it. This is high quality. Not bulky either.

I too have this case, it works great. I have not noticed any difference in my network connection signal strength which was a concern and has provided good protection for the phone in its couple of drops. I work in a hydraulics shop with hardened concrete floors and it has held up well. As a side note the case also holds up well when exposed to mineral and petroleum based hydraulic fluids.

Anyone have this case?

http://www.cellularoutfitter.com/p-...-note-sgh-i717-att-silicone-cover-black-.html
I'm looking for a cheap thin case that covers the corners and is also slightly raised above the screen, in case I drop it face first the screen will not touch the ground.
I am not even seeing a brand name for this case, but it's cheap, so thinking about getting it.

I have this one I think. Again with no brand name. But I can say that it is a perfectly adequate case for using it on your desk/table however it has a loose fit which when you try to put it in your pocket it wants to come off. Given the price I can't really complain.
thats why they are they have the word cheap in their name lol
$4.00 for the case $5.95 for first class shipping weird

Thanks that helps. I don't want one that is going to try and come off. I found some other cheap ones on Amazon.
I bought a couple from Amazon from the company BoxWave, they're pretty high quality and fit well, have raised edges and come in a few different colors.
http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Samsu...3M2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329855698&sr=8-1
Couple of questions on the Boxwave unit...
Any chance it will work with a cradle type charging unit? If so, which cradle is recommended?
I am looking at the Hyperion unit and it looks like it might actually work.
I cannot post links yet, but Amazon and "Hyperion galaxy note" should get the job done.
Next question is rather odd...I want to be able to set my phone in a cradle in landscape so the connector will not work (obviously). So is there a cradle that will allow the Boxwave unit to remain in place, AND hold the Note in landscape? I do not care about charging in this configuration, as I will just run a cable to my USB port on my PC or charger.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Co-sign...I bought this case and I was surprised at the quality. I'm waiting for an Otterbox or something similar, but this case is a perfect fit for the Note and it looks very nice.

I definitely suggest TPU cases. You can get them every bit as cheap, provide similar protection, and will slide in and out of your pocket when you want it to, and will stay there when you don't. Also, due to the snug fit, I have found they allow much less dirt to get inside the case compared to silicone cases, stuf keeping your device scratch free.
I remember that I had a silicone case for my first iPod, a 30gb video, and I was highly disappointed when dust and dirt had scratched the back of my device. Silicone cases don't do much except make your phone grippy. they may defend well against drops, but TPU is just as good and doesn't allow your device to get nearly as dirty/scratched.
Ignore this post.

Is it thinner than a speck case? I got the Spigen Spg that I like very much but it doesn't protect the front I want a lightweight case.

[review] TRYIT leather flip case w/ stand

Hey all. I purchased the TryIt black leather flip case with the stand about 2 weeks ago off ebay $44.69 shipped. I honestly didn't like it at first but it has grown on me. It takes a while to get used to holding the phone with the case cover flipped back. My only real complaint is the sturdiness of the kick stand. Looking at the pictures on ebay, i thought the kick stand was metal. It actually is a cheap plastic stand that snaps off really easily. A little bit of pressure makes it come off, luckily it snaps back into place. The genuine leather gives it a nice feel. The ID/credit card slots are convenient. However, it can only hold up to 4 cards comfortably. The fitment of the case hugs the note perfectly with all holes aligned. Surprisingly it doesn't add much bulk. Enough rambling...now for the pics:

call quality is fine with the case closed. i was thinking the caller would sound muffled, but they actually sound clear. removing the case seemed quite difficult at first, but after doing it several times, you get used to it. at first it seems like you will break the clip on liner but it actually is really durable.
I'm really digging the look of this case. How much was it?

i got it off ebay $44.69 shipped. a lil pricey, but i say the black leather is what makes it worth it for me. ill add this info to the review. thanks for the reminder.
I'm thinking of ordering the non-flip version of this case. Does the top bezel touch the surface of the display at all? It looks like it only touches the sides. I want to add a Glas.t screen protector, but I don't want the case to touch it.
Also, how much size and weight does this add? Would you consider this a slim case (without the flip cover)? Thanks.

it doesnt add much weight at all. i would consider it a slim case if it is the one without the flip cover.
Thanks. Does the bezel all you to place the phone face down without the display touching the table? It looks like the bezel might be slightly raised above the level of the display (not once the glas.t protector is on, though).

the bezel is slightly raised, but its like half a mm. i still feel like the screen touches the table when on its face. i wouldnt recommend having the face down with this case.

the case is holding up pretty well. i haven't tried any other cases other than this one so far. i am actually thinking about purchasing the seido active case with the kickstand. i did have my first drop a couple weeks ago. i was in my car with the door open and it slipped out of my jacket pocket. when it hit the ground it actually popped out of the case. luckily it wasnt too high off the ground. there was no damage to the phone since it was in the case when it hit, but when it popped it, it did slide a couple inches. i can confirm that this case is not made for drop protection.
I have the Samsung flip case, using it now, not sure to keep it. It's so unconvinced compare to my non-flips one. What the better way to use it? hard to hold unless fold the flip all the way to the back, take extra time to "open the case" .... Grrrr
just purchased the mugen power extended battery. pm me if you are interested in this case since i dont need it anymore.

Last night I got the only case available at the closest T-Mobile store. It's from Tech21 and cost $35, with a nice grippy texture & "D3O impact material".
Meh.
Here's a picture taken with my nexus 10 that might show the poor fit at the side of the screen.
View attachment 2303496
That extra shiny edge at the right is the silver frame/side of the Note 3.
I'll probably return it today because the sides flex too much & I'm afraid it'll screw up a screen protector.
It also makes the phone a little harder to fit in some pockets because of the combination of added bulk & drag from the texture.
I'll try to get something with a TPO inner layer and enough plastic on the outside to not drag too badly going into a pocket. That might be like looking for a unicorn since there are so few cases available right now, and almost none I can see in person.

I have same case as well. It's very slim.
I got that case too for now, it fits perfectly if you squeeze in all around as it molds to the phone a little bit and you won't see any gap afterwards. If it was clear and not smoky I would keep it, there are alternatives on Amazon for 1/3rd the price. Not that I mind spending 35 dollars for a case but not one so simple, give me a slim fit Speck or BodyGlove with a kickstand and I'm all over it and they usually go for 25 -35 dollars.

I bought one these also for TMO note 3 until they start pushing out some other choices.

OK, I returned the Tech 21 case and they showed me another that came in today. It was by Bodyglove, the same price, made of shiny black TPU. It felt good on the phone and had a good grip in the hand. The sides felt a little stiffer than the first on, EXCEPT at the buttons. Above the buttons the TPU flexed way too much. I'm pretty sure it'll rub at the edge of a screen protector, maybe enough to make the screen protector lift.
I'll just have to wait on a Slim Armor, or something else with a hard shell over a soft liner.

I ended up buying the body glove for now, and so far its pretty good, I can't wait for my UAG case to come in though.
I bought this a temporary, and it's not that great imo , as the power button is pretty hard to depress.
I also bought this as a "temporary case" and actually like it as well-- much slimmer than I thought it would be. I also like the "grippy" material on the back that doesn't slide around in my car. I had the "official" samsung case on my note 2, and that thing would fly across my car/lap/seat any time I made a turn.
Look forward to seeing other options come out though. Great job by Tech21, imo.
