otterbox commuter vs casemate pop - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

hey guys i just order this case http://www.amazon.com/Case-Mate-Bla...OGHK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338164033&sr=8-1
but wanted to know what you guys think would be best and the slimmest, the case mate pop or the otterbox commuter
opinions would be welcome because i still have the ability to cancel the order
i wish companies would post specs on their cases
thank you

I love the commuters. I've had them for the original EVO and the 3D. Can't wait to get one. The defender is to big for my liking.

I've had the commuter too before but I hate that it covers all the Ports and I want something that's thinner

Must have accessories?

I get my Evo on Tuesday but was wondering what to get. I like extended batteries and an extended case for my phone. I drop my phone alot so I want a strong case. Any input would be appreciated!

I got a Ballistic SG case for mine. it has pretty good drop protection but it does make the phone a bit bulky. Feels good and solid in the hand though...
I had the black/black one but exchanged it for a black/red. Kind of regret that now, the red finish isn't as great but the black/black one has a very classy look to it.
You could also wait for their hardcore model to come out but that's a bit overkill
here's a link: http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/htc-evo-3d-ballistic-shell-gel-sg-series-case
Otterbox Defender offers great protection and their customer service is the best. Ballistic HC isn't out yet, and their customer service sucks. TPU-CASES.COM has a great selection an their in the US, if you want just moderate protection. Otterbox Commuter has mid level protection but the silicone stretches over time. But, Otterbox will keep sending you new ones at no charge when they stretch out, and they're working on an update where the silicone fits better.

Seidio Active vs Case-mate Tough

hi
I bought this nice phone, but it looks kind fragile so I wanna buy a case.
but because I'm from czech republic and there are no shops where I can try these cases [how they fit and how I feel them in my hand]. I really need your help, which one to pick. I'll buy the case from ebay.
I watched some videos and both cases look fantastic. But I can't judge how nice and tight silicon fits. Which case is smaller. [better for me] and which has batter grip
btw I hate touching my camera on evo [big, cold, sharp edges - really wanna get rid of this!!!]
seidio has the camera "in hole"
and Tough has silicon over it
I love to carry my phone on belt, is there some usable holster for Tough case ?
Go for case mate its tight from what I have seen.
and case mate looks like it also has a better grip.. but only thing which stopped me to buy it is that I don't know how can I attach it to my belt? Is there any compatibile holster or someting similar to use ?

Seidio is alright overpriced and tends to break . They have holsters for there cases. That always is a pain for me to find a good case and holster. I went and bought a trident kraken case and I'm more then happy with it comes with a holster . Get them on eBay cheaper then from trident site.
The case is light and solid. Anyways hope you find something a lot of cases are good.
Most big companies have holsters for the cases they make.
I saw some videos with kraken and it's superb case with best features, like kickstand and belt holster, which is the most I can imagine from a good case. But its really huge, expensive case.. class of otterbox defender rather than midsized case like what I want.. but great case,no doubt.
I really can't make decision which case to buy
Is there any midsized case (can be even just silicone if fits tight) which is great in other written aspects and has belt holster option?? Maybe I overlooked something.

Look at the kraken thread I have pics of my case and there is one with a pic of the defender case next to it. Kraken isn't as big as folks think its smaller thinner then otterbox defender . To me its slim prefer it over the defender and seidio also over the others I have used.
EBay u can snag a kraken for 25 bucks on there free ship too.
I don't know of anything else that is worth having to keep your phone protected to the max with anything slimmer that has a good holster .
I have the Case-Mate Tough Case. Love it. Very tight fit. Been dropped a couple times and it is good to go. I even put an Invisible Shield screen cover on it. Fits very well with case. Best combo yet! Even fits perfect in my Seido desk cradle and iGrip car mount kit.

Otterbox for galaxy note?...

Any word on an otterbox for the galaxy note? Or possibly something similar with heavy duty protection (heavy duty case with holster). I'm not into flip cases, gel skins, pouches or TPU.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Otterbox have not announce anything for the Galaxy Note, so we have to wait and see.
I've found news. Hopefully this is true and they go in our favor http://blog.techiewarehouse.com/otterbox-breaks-silence-about-galaxy-note-defender-commuter-cases/

Wow I can't wait. I already ordered Impact Heavy Duty which have otterbox quality and it cheaper (10 buck). It so bulk like the otterbox, but don't have screen protector and have kick-stand. I can't wait to get the Defender!
Great - I will wait until the Defender comes out.

I ordered this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520549
seems like it has all the protection the otter box might offer.
I can't wait for a defender either. I don't like the cheap feel of the kick stand with that case and the fact that it doesn't come with a holster.

Awesome news! I have a case now but would switch.
I've been on them on their Facebook page for weeks.... Same replies. I'm awaiting its arrival but fear they may not release a defender due to size.
On a lighter note, I was in a best Buy in green bay and saw 2 Defenders brand new for a...... Wait for it..... Dell Streak! Only $39.99!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA App
Lol, unbelievable @defenders for dell streak. The dell streak has a 5 inch screen so otterbox should at least consider it for the note. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I really want a defender for my note.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
I'd much rather see a Ballistic or Trident case. Otterbox tends to use their best materials/factories for the iPhones.
I like the level of protection both trident and ballistic offers but they should include a clip with them
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Otterbox is good an all.. but if we could get these guys to make a case for our phone, we'd be set.
Saw it at Best Buy and emailed them a few times. Even offered my phone up for prototyping purposes, but I'm thinking they aren't into it, despite the number sold.

Seidio looks like they have "coming soon" on their active combo case/holsters. I had the seidio with my atrix and actually liked it better than my Defender case....mainly less bulky.

Same here. I had a Defender on my Atrix for about two weeks before I decided it was simply too bulky for everyday use. Swapped to a Seidio Active and haven't looked back. I'd love a Seidio Active for my Note. I can only imagine a Defender for the Note being slightly less bulky than a laptop bag.
I understand seidio is less bulky than otterbox, but does it offer the same level of protection? I wouldn't want to compromise thinness over it not protecting the phone from drops very well.

But they did an awesome job with the iphone 4 Defender in keeping it trim yet protective. That design, holster and all is exactly what they need to make for us.

The only decrease in protection that I could imagine would be the rubber flaps for ports and whatnot on the defender. The seido active or other cases like the speck candyshell are awesome at drop protection just like the defender. I've dropped phones in these cases before from 5-6 feet off the ground onto concrete and absolutely no harm done to the device. Unless you're big on the port coverage, I don't see why people buy the defender, as it has so much unnecessary bulk. I know you want the belt clip/holster though, so it looks like the seido active would be a good choice once they have it.

Any great case for EVO 4G LTE?

My dad recently bought HTC EVO 4G LTE, but he doesn't have a case yet. I'm thinking buying him a case for coming up Fathers' day. I don't know that many cell phone accessory providers, and I don't wanna get him something cheap ones from Amazon or eBay. It would be great if you can recommend me a specific product for my dad, or it can be just a name of the store.
Thank you in advance.
Well, if you equate cost with quality, you'll get recommendations for Otterbox or similar. But I just got my new Diztronics TPU case and it's fantastic, and it was only $10. That's my recommendation.
There are tons, likely have to be ordered so be fast. It all depends on how bulky/slim you want it. There are a few threads here, just read up.

Thanks for the replies. i will look through the list of EVO 4G cases.
Thinking about picking up a Seidio surface case. I just wish the power and volume rocker buttons were uncovered.
I recommend this one there are one with the holster for $50 and another one for $24 without the holster it looks awesome
its from seidio

best case in my opinion and they come in different colors and are $9!!!
HERE
I have two driztronic. Matt black is the only way to go. The gloss is kinda sticky.
VERY impressed. Make sure whatever you do don't buy a plastic case if it doesn't have some sort of gel on the inside. They will scratch the crap out of your phone. I had two Seido's for my OG EVOs and they marred the finished on the edge of the phone TERRIBLY.
The defender is amazing great quality so far. Thinner than previous evos. Put mine next to my girlfriends shift and they r almost the same thickness

Just got my diztronic tpu case nicer than I expected.
I've only used skins on my phones (Phantom skinz etc) since I wanted to avoid thickness but this tpu case is thinner than I expected.
Highly recommend

Belt clip for otterbox commuter needed

I bought the otterbox commuter for my new evolte because i thought the defender looked too big. Anyone know if there is a belt clip holster that will work with this case? I prefer to not carry the phone in my pocket.

I think your best options would be to try the seidio active or convert holders. I'm not sure that these will work, just merely giving suggestions to try to point you guys in the right direction. I'm using the diztronic tpu case and it works wonderfully with the seidio surface holster. Go to seidio.com and take a look. The surface is for minimal protection, the active is a little thicker with a slightly bigger holster and the convert offers the most protection which requires a bigger holster. They do sell the holsters separately. Also, they have a coupon code for 15% off and free shipping, I believe it Is dad2012 or something along the lines of that, Google it you will find it.
Wow sounds like an advertisement when re reading ha!

Here is some info I gathered for the various Seidio and Otterbox cases:
Seidio cases: I got this info directly from Seidio chat.
The ACTIVE case is : 5.5 x 2.9 x 0.6 inches
The CONVERT case is 5.8 x 3.2 x 1.8 inches
Otterbox cases: From otterbox website
Defender DIMENSIONS: 5.66 in x 3.08 in x .068 in
146.51 mm x 85.67 mm x 37.36 mm
Commuter case ??? still don't know, it is not posted on the website.
Judging by the info I gathered, is really hard to say which holster would "fit better" as I have no idea how the compatibility is and the dimensions are rather close. If you guys are able to get the dimensions of the Commuter, I think you can make a guess which holster would fit better. Good luck!
I am really curious as to what would work as well because when I got my evo 3d last year I had the exact same question. In the end I just went with a Surface combo and purchased a TPU case as back up. It Just to turned out that the TPU case fit perfect in the Seidio Surface holster. I liked the combo so much, I am doing the same for the Evo LTE, Diztronic TPU with Seidio Surface holster.

For wearing my phone at construction sites i've used this:
http://www.occidentalleather.com/product.php?sku=5068&type=
I modified it by lining it with neoprene. It is ugly and not stylish but will protect your phone short of it getting crushed. The inside is unlined leather so you may want to line it with something. It is very heavy duty and has lasted me since I bought the original EVO. Only reason I've bought another is due to the new evo not fitting with the defender case. Comes in black and brown.

I would just go with the defender combo. I am a mechanic and that's what I use. It's also not that bad on your belt not much more than the 3d. The seidio active is a good compromise for bulk and protection that's what I used on my 3d. I just like that the defender leaves the kickstand exposed.
