Success!! PDroid Patch For Generic Ginger ROM - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

We can now use the PDroid App on the YP-G70!
For those that don't know PDroid is a privacy protection app that allows you to block apps from accessing your private info. Read about it in it's XDA thread HERE.
I have attached both the patch and the restore script if you should want to remove it. Just flash using CWM.
Hope this helps someone.

Hey, this looks pretty sweet. Is it only for the Generic Ginger, or can it be flashed in other stock-based ROMs?

I prefer to use lbe security
It's not needing any patch, just to be rooted and doing exactly the same

lbe privacy guard isn't available for the SGP5.0 at Google Play

(THEME) Themed Android Markets New Version 3.1.3

OK found these new themed Android Markets Version 3.1.3 (newest version)
Didn't make this but though I would post a link! Thanks to who ever did theme these! Well, enjoy!!
http://www.apktop.com/android-market-3-1-3-with-7-themes.html
Current Version:3.1.3
Requires a Rooted Device size:3.2MB V3.1.3 update: Adds +1 For Apps And Games, Pin Number For Purchases, And More! New Android Market / Adds +1 For Apps And Games. Pin Number For Purchases And More! should work for all devices. You do need to enable Unknown Sources in Settings-> Applications.)
There is a brand-new settings menu, as well as click-to-read explanations of app per missions (not developer customizable, unfortunately). There is also a brand-new Market icon to spruce things up. Oh, and did we mention you can now use a custom PIN for purchases on your phone, instead of leaving your Google
Checkout wide open for anyone that picks up your device?
If you have kids, or your phone is stolen, this is one awesome feature to have and really, it makes a lot of sense. You can get the new Market .apk here, root access is not required. but you will need Unknown Sources enabled in the Settings -> Applications menu to install it.

Try using the flashable version. Sometimes there is a problem replacing the market provided with whatever rom you use. I usually have to use that method with my vibrant!

[PATCH] PDroid patch for King Kang datecode July7th, July10th & July16th CWM zip

Ever since I installed an app and then started receiving random SMS and unwanted email spam due to that app accessing my private info and selling me out, I've been using PDroid. Unfortunately PDroid does not currently work for ICS out of the box. You can create your own patch via threads found on XDA. I've created and am sharing the CWM flashable zip along with the restore for King Kang date code July 7th, 10th & 16th.
This was created in windows with Cygwin and [Script]Auto-Patcher. It takes longer to download all the programs needed to create the patch files than it is to create them so this is for the lazy.
DISCLAIMER I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE USING THE FILES LISTED IN THIS THREAD.
THIS ONLY WORKS WITH King Kang date code July 7th, 10th or 16th.
Directions:
Install PDroid from Market/Play
Flash update_KingKang_JulyXXth.zip for the version of King Kang you have installed in CWM/TWRP
Block apps access to your personal info in PDroid
Enjoy!
If you FUBAR your phone then use the appropiate restore_KingKang_JulyXXth.zip
OR
reflash the King Kang ROM zip over your existing King Kang install.
KingKang July 7th & 10th patch created using Auto-Patcher v70 script.
KingKang July 16th patch created using Auto-Patcher v100 script.
This is for any TW ICS ROM?
Also it it possible to get V6 Supercharger working on our ROM's too?

Yes. You can create your own patches for PDroid AND SuperCharger for the ROM you use. Just check out this link that is in the OP.
I feel stupid now. Thank you guys.
Wow.. neat thanks dev.. gonna check it out!
Can you say which app caused the issues? I am now getting notifications with a star graphic that try to open websites, but I'm having trouble removing the culprit.

Not really. I went on an app install spree and then started getting spam texts and email.
If you really want to trouble shoot try using titanium backup our some other app to mass freeze all your user apps. Only leave like 5 unfrozen and see if you get any more issues. If not then unfreeze a couple more at a time. This will help track it down systematically.
Might also look at the apps that have internet access permission first.

Air push notification is awesome for detecting what apps are doing that bullshizz too...it will show which app is sending them and delete it...

[Q] LBE Or DroidWall ?

Hi, i use a Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 With stock rom and Siyah Kernel 3.3.2
I was wondering which of these 2 (LBE / DroidWall) is doing better his job ?
I mean block internet access to some app ..
It seems that LBE Is working background, and Droidwall don't ..
That means LBE is draining my battery life ?
So my question is : Which of these 2 is more viable .. Doing his job without draining battery life
Thanks ! :good:
I use PDroid and DroidWall. PDroid can be found here on XDA and does the same as LBE (and beter imo) and is also open source which LBE is not. And because of the premision/access you give an app like LBE/PDroid I prefer the one that is open source. DroidWall I also use even tough I read that it leaks data when starting your phone, I believe it was on the blog android underground. But I stil like the combination with PDroid.

i used LBE and that was an eye opener to me. so simple, so effective, nice. but since i upgraded my Galaxy Nexus to Jelly Bean (with Paranoid Android mod) it doesn't work anymore, gets into a serious bootloop.
Pdroid is not available for Galaxy Nexus with Jelly Bean, either.
permission denied is lousy imo.
what to do?
what to use?
LBE Security (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422479) works on my Galaxy Nexus JB with Paranoid Android 2.13 and has LBE Privacy Guard for Permission Management included.
NICE
thanks >eksasol<
i use 360

[Q] Android master key vulnerability patch

Anybody try this on the Rezound yet?
http://www.rekey.io/#intro
Link to app in Play Store --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.rekey.rekey
Some of the reviews talk about boot loops, but there aren't any reviews from Rezounds.
Update: I ran a backup and then installed it. Seems to have worked fine, but the Bluebox Security Scanner still says my phone is unpatched. Hmmm.
I wouldn't use it. I think 4.3 will have the patch and CyanogenMod has already patched it and put it in there rom

google has patched this on their server side and has sent a patch out manufactures, who should be pushing it out to carriers.
AFAIK the patch alone on google servers were more than enough needed to stop this from ever coming to light.
but as a caution, when installing an app outside the market (ie play, amazon) make sure it's a trusted source. If you're still at ease just dont sideload apps. apps coming from the market will be scanned and made sure they dont exploit this.
hope this helps put your mind at ease a little.

I installed the app and enabled it. Now my Note II is boot looping. Phone will boot to lock screen, and a few seconds after I unlock, it will hang and reboot. Any ideas how to recover ? I am going to try using Aroma File manager to see if I can delete the apk and see if that helps.
---------- Post added at 03:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:28 AM ----------
If you are experienceing boot loops, get Aroma File Manager running from CWM and delete this file /data/app/io.rekey.rekey-1.apk. It should get ur phone up and running again
Here is a trusted option if u can run Xposed framework.

this is the most secure way to patch it on the phone side.
if you are running cm10.1 it has already been patched
if you are running AOKP or PAC that was built after 7/8 (i think) it has already been patched.
