I got a new job that came with a company car and an iPhone.
I am very happy about the car, the iphone not so much. I gave the iPhone fare chance (3 weeks) before deciding that I officially hate it. I have decided that I will be keeping my personal line (Evo 3D) and only use the iPhone for business stuff. I really don't see what the obsession is with the iPhone. IMO the iPhone 4s is crap when compared to my Evo 3D. The only thing that I like about it is that it feels like a solid phone, I don't think it could withstand a drop all to well though.
When I went into the apple store to buy a case for my iPhone this weekend the person asked me how long have I owned this iPhone for and I told her about 3 weeks. She then asked me how do I like it and being the honest person that I am I told her that its the biggest pos on the market right now and if I would have spent my own money on it I would have returned it the first day. I don't think that she expected to get an answer like that because she had a look on her face like I just shot her entire family. Needless to say she didn't help me pick out my case.
Question for anyone thats ever been in an apple store, doesnt it feel like you just walked into a cult. These people are like mindless sheep just grazing on the BS that is apple. I don't think I ever want to go back. Well that the end of my book.

I once went into an apple shop to have a look at the Iphone 4 when it came out.
Someone came over and asked how i was finding it, I said I prefer Android phones.
He then said "No-one ever says the "A" word here".... Made me laugh
Regardless of where i shop if a person in retail is nice to me i try to be nice back. Dealing with the public is difficult and i'm glad i don't do it anymore. You were an ass and should go back and apologize.

No a simple it's not for me would have been fine. It's the biggest pos is overkill. The girl didn't build the phone, design the phone, or is tim cooks sister. She probably makes 10 bucks an hour and has a boss breathing down her neck about being nice to people. It's the same in any store be it a fruit product or an android product, or mcdonalds.

I thought that was funny.
I get the same feeling when I go into the local Att Store. 3 or 4 people standing there doing nothing. I have an Att Data plan and went in there to discuss some problems and they told me to call Att. I said well isn't this Att?
I ended up having to call some tech in India. "Mindless sheep" is right.

You know he may not have said the actual words or even pos.to the person people do change stories to make them more dramatic even if they don't mean to hell he could have said its junk but put pos to give us a laugh. Also if she's making 10 a he at a iPhone store then I'm doing something wrong being a vet and making 10 a hr. I have worked in a grocery store as well and I understand the customer.thing but I NEVER ever expect someone to say I'm sorry for crap. Why because if they are rude to begin with I know they won't say sorry because people are selfish manors are a thing.of the past sadly for most people.

Only people I recommend iPhone to is those that aren't very tech savy because as long as they can tap icons they can work an iPhone. I can't have a phone with so much user limitations as the iPhone.
I remember one day I was with a few friends having dinner. Total of about 12 phones. 5 of them were androids.. Nobody's android phone looked the same physically and the homescreens were all nice and customized. The iPhone users were about 7 and they all looked the same. Most even had the same wallpaper. Reassured my love for Android.
I have nothing against apple.. It's just not for me.

Lol. When I went to pick out my first smart phone it was between the iPhone 4 and the HTC evo. I had done all the research and it came time to actually go to the store and look at the time. I was honestly going into it with an open mind after putting my apple hatred aside. I looked at the iPhone first and while it did have a very nice design, it just felt so boring. All you have is a background with a bunch of icons laid over it. I told the lady I wasn't impressed and I was thinking about the evo and she goes oh well we will have the HTC aria very soon I think you would like that. I kind of laughed and walked out lol.
Then I went to the sprint store. The evo blew my mind. The screen was HUGE, and I'm a sucker for big screens. Then it had all the widgets and the live wallpaper. And it had a freaking kick stand! I was sold right there.
Since then I've only grown to love android even more and everything you can do with it. My brother bought me the new iPad for my graduation and while the screen is incredible, again goes back to my first thoughts of ios. It's just so bland and boring. Browsing the web is very nice but that's about all I use it for.

kind of backwards to go to a blackberry, unless you really need the security... and its not worth updating to a bb until the new OS comes out since OS7 is pretty much a dead end.

hell no! I was a LOYAL crackberry user for YEARS.. I always said I would never use anything except a BB... when I was thinking of making the switch to Android I was REALLY REALLY nervous and hesitant about it since I loved my BB so much... the first Android phone I had was the G2, then the myTouch 4G, then the G2x, then the Sensation, now the Evo 3d... after the first 5 minutes I was hooked.. and I only missed my BB a teeny tiny bit the first few days (the things I missed most were the physical keyboard and spell check in every single input field) but once I experienced Android there was no going back to BB EVER...
its not jumping its more like falling

I have somehow managed to convince an iPhone 4s user and a Nexus user (both close colleagues @ work) to switch to the AT&T Note just by allowing them to play with my toy. The Nexus user is a Verizon customer that is now seeking to switch to AT&T. That's pretty special IMO.

I had a random awkward encounter today, but it still put a smile on my face. I was waiting for my next class and reading xda on my note, when a completely random girl, who I noticed had been standing nearby for about 5 minutes, walked by and simply said "nice phone" on her way into a neighboring class. I only had time to say thanks before she was in her class, but it was cool that she apparently knew what phone it was and acknowledged it.
Not that I'm looking for attention at all, but I love the simple conversations it can start with people, and I think people are really starting to realize how awesome Android phones can be. I enjoy showing people my Note and the awesome things it and Android can do.
With Android in general, I have loved being different from everybody that has an iPhone, which is seemingly everybody at my college. Even more so, I like how the Note stands out even more, as I guarantee not a single other phone on the market would have piqued that girls interest around my school, as all you see are iPhones, nor would she gave distinguished it from being any other old regular Android phone. This phone is turning heads, and people have taken a huge liking to Samsung recently.

All I see are people's eyes squinting at their little 3.5" inch screen (yes i'm talkin about the iPhone). Same sized screen since 2007, its old news. Go BIG or GTFO of here.

I'm still getting uninitiated attention in public randomly. This has carried over to the Note from the Streak.
Like if I'm in a regular shopping-type of center, and just standing around using my phone, some random passerby's will notice me and ask about what I'm holding.
But I definitely think this would stick out most in a university lecture hall type of environment.
From asking some random local at&t store sales reps, they said a good share of both genders have purchased the Note. I initially was guessing that it would be mostly guys buying them.

Normally, I agree with you. If HTC starts willy-nilly suing Apple over ridiculous things then yeah, they're no better. However this was a counterclaim against a specific lawsuit that Apple filed against HTC. Basically it's a counterclaim for the court to "take back" what they first said. If indeed the article is correct about it being a counter claim, that is.

I don't take issue with what HTC is doing. I just find it hilarious how XDA users find it to be acceptable that HTC is responding with a lawsuit, seeing as a lawsuit started this whole thing.
I note with interest the top post of this page; "i hope Android takes over iOS".
So, we want competition, but we want the competition to be gone. We don't want Apple fighting the battle with lawsuits, we want the battle to be fought with innovation and good ideas, but when HTC fights with lawsuits, we applaud them as though it's some sort of "revenge". We demonize iOS but fail to realize we wouldn't have Android the way it is without Apple.
...
Am I the only one who sees how ridiculous this is? Probably, I tend to get filed away as an Apple fanboy though, you watch, someone will say that about this post.
I suppose in the average XDA user's mind, we're all soldiers in some epic war, and we need to constantly "rattle the troops" as if we're trying to keep up morale against the big bad Apple.
When in reality, you're just some guy that bought an Android device and you happen to like Android enough that you'll root your phone and flash a different ROM.

Owned.
Keep calm and flash on...
If it were only true. No way Samsung wouldn't have paid them already anyway. All kinds of appeals still need to be made.

While I do wish it was true, it's been reported as fake on numerous websites.

Not a true story, but would be funny if Samsung did that.
Debunked. DAMN That would've been AMAZING though.
i f ing love it!!!!!! lmao!!!!

Maybe not a Samsung phone, but their new camera running JB looks awesome.
People couldn't tell this wasn't true by merely reading the article? Lol.

I did that a few years ago when my car was towed. Came in and dropped 250 rolls of pennies on the counter. It would have been better if it was just loose change. Strange but true, a lot of banks dont keep that much change on hand. I had to go to 3 different banks to get that much change. Would have been f**king awesome if Samsung really did that though
If this were true, I'd think that Apple would have a freaking option to deny the money due to some insane reasoning. This after all, IS America, where the ridiculous can be made to sound sane and the innocent can be proven guilty!

The only problem with sending over all those nickels would be when Samsung wins the appeal then they would be stuck with them.
Funny thing is that nickels are the one denomination made now a days that at times can be worth more than face value.
It's just that pesky law about defacing currency you have to get around.

Eh doubt it. Any coin is a legal tender for all debts. I paid for McDonalds once with $100 bill, where their sign said that they won't accept anything over $20. They *****ed a bit, but took it.
well played Sammy, well played indeed........my gosh I hate Apple
Why is this thread still open? The news was proven false.
This has also been reposted a couple of times already.

So this is my story, thought maybe someone would enjoy hearing it. And this story involves my s3, but I'm telling you guys cause i like this forum better lol.
My mom sent me to the Mall to see if the line was too long for my sister to get an iPhone when she got home from college today. (Line was super short compared to when i camped out for my ip4, shameful i know )
I was leaning over the railing looking at the first floor ( Apple store is on second floor) I was texting my mom about the situation on the line, when an older gentlemen came up and tapped me, he asked "Do you like your phone" I was like of course I love it. He then asked was I going to be trading or selling it for the iPhone, I was like no way i fell for that with the ip4 then a month later traded it for the original galaxy and haven't looked back since owning every galaxy. He said me either then pulled out his I.D. he worked for Samsung Atlanta, and he flashed me his galaxy, and thanked me for my loyalty to Samsung gave me a $25 mediahub credit and gave a smirk to the fools in line haha. Not much but i thought it was cool

Wow
thats awesome, cool story!
And yea this forum kicks ass
If your phone is custom you should've showed HIM what it was capable of
I think it's great that Samsung reps are trolling iphone launches!! Good call, Samsung!
This is pretty Gangsta man. These apple fruit cakes really annoy me with their one-sidedness.

Due to the positive nature of this thread and the overall goodness of the conversation going on in here we're gonna have to close this thread. Hah jk this IS awesome I love it when we get to see what truly great people we have here on xda. With all the crap we sift through here I know sometimes that feeling of community gets lost. Thanks for bringing it back .

If you don't use media hub il l be more than willing to redeem it for you! Lol
Almost justifies a trip to the Apple store. I've been in the apple store many times, but never a good experience like this.

Hmmm, that's not fair
I was pretending inline for iP5 after reading this story and hoped snagging a $$ gift certificate but I was just wasting my time.
After texting for almost an hour and still none of man left alone old man tapped my shoulder
However I spotted an Asian man wandering around the store, I came up and asked "R u Korean?" Amazingly the guy responded "yes" but then he added "from the North."
What the hell!
