hi all,
i want some help from you guys. i am from pakistan and i want to buy samsung galaxy s3 i was wondering on net and thier i found a company named "WiseBuy ltd" here is company information link http://www.cdrex.com/wisebuy-ltd-3815393.html
its says there are registered and not a fraud. and the cost to buy galaxy s3 is about 400$ .which i found 30% cheap from my country. but actualy i am afraid of online fraud and want to know what should i do? how i can trust that company? is there any one from stadfordshire England can confirm this company for me plzz? i shall be very thankfull to you.
ye, even i found one guy called hassan who said he is selling Galaxy S3 for 470$. I asked him for his company's certificates and proofs. he showed me some certificates but i still don't trust such things. On asking one of my blogger friend, he said he has such legit deals on past but he doesn't trust them fully.
I hope that can help. Whatever you do, make sure you don't get scammed. And don't buy it without warranty.
You should ask yourself why someone is selling the most in demand phone for 30% less.
Pretty much all the information you need is on the link you posted. The business is dormant meaning it hasnt been doing much at all for the last financial year either minimum trading or non at all. I wouldn't be giving them my money.
Im guessing they dont actually have their own website either. Ask yourself what sort of company won't even provide their own website in this day and age?
ok fine thank you all. i would not be dealing with him. i m much afraid of scamm but kindly provide me some trusted dealer's link from whom i can purchase galaxy s3 reliably and cheaply!!
Hello
Sadly you will not find this phone cheaply for at least a few weeks.
This is the most in demand phone at the moment, so the retailers will not sell for less then RRP.
Maybe if you wait a few weeks and try again from reputable shops ?
It will be the best way to buy it without the fear of being scammed

so where can get get one that works in the US?
Non works with US 3G yet
ebay or import one, only work on edge until north american version is released and even then it only has ATT 3G bands if that is important to you
T-Mobile USA
Simple question guys. I think the answer is 'yes' but I want to verify this with people w/ more experience.
Does the UK version of the Hero work w/ T-Mobile USA data network?
I'd like to get the Hero but it would be a waste of money if it doesn't work w/ my provider.
Sorry guys...found the answer on another thread
noob mistake
How trustworthy does this seller look to you guys?
http://mobilegadgetsonline.com/HTC/HTC-Hero-Android-White-Smartphone-Unlocked-p6.html
It's cheaper than handtec, which is the best value I've found..
$400?! that's suspicious .. everyone else has it starting from $634
refurbished? it says new ..
the store has zero rating in google shopping
ohhh, now i see why, i'm sure they messed up the currency sign, hero costs 400 british pounds
That's possible.. but everything else on the site is also in dollars and relatively cheap compared to other places.
I guess it is too suspicious though, I'm not going to touch that one.
thinking about buying from mobilegadgetsonline.com
if anyone out there HAS bought from there i would appreciate a quick note about it.
i am thinking of buying from there as they are CHEAP!! CHEAP !! CHEAP!
but as some of you, i am skeptical as well.
they say that they are a new store, with new goods....
trying to obtain a sound customer base.
they also stated that the promo prices (which are fantastic) end on July 31st.
hmmm, what to do, what to do?!?!?!?!?
if its to cheap.....
the alarm bells would be ringing for me
do your homework before you buy.
I would not deal with any company that does not have a land line phone number to call. Not that it makes a difference.
No Whois information either - I know for dot com it not needed, but hay. BEWARE
THATS A SCAM i recently purchased a hero from them and got an email saying ur order can not be prossesed because our credit card processors are down and you must send cash or money order your credit card was not charged
JerryBarcenas, which site did you buy it from so we can know where not to get it.
I'm waiting for the hero to come to the us and will hopefully get my unlocked hero by october/november
that mobilegadgetsonline is a scam however the next cheapest i found was integrontechnologies.com its 599 free shipping and has google checkout ill try them next if not ill just got to expansys i trust them
Thanks for the info, Jerry.
I guess I would recommend everyone to buy from expansys if they wanted to be safe.
Been searching on here and other forums but cant find a definite answer....
There are a few brand new S2's on eBay, off people who've had upgrades etc but are happy with their existing handset so fancy making some money out of these sought-after phones and am thinking of getting one, but have read conflicting opinions and views as to whether or not they come with a warranty!
I'd have thought that, provided they've never been registered with Samsung that it should be ok!
Anyone had any experience themselves with this type of thing?
Cheers

Thats the problem though.....when people get their free upgrades, they usually don't get a receipt for the phone....just the phone itself - so no purchase date or anything. I think that the serial number on the phone provides proof of manufacture...so that should surely satisfy Samsung??
I was just wondering if anyone had actually had this situation and needed a repair...?
Yes and no. Yes, if whoever you bought it from is an authorized Samsung retailer. No, if they're not. Go to the Samsung site and read the warranty terms. It's pretty cut and dried.
Well like i said with 1 you have warrenty without 1 ya stuffed, dont make a silly mistake and buy 1 without 1 even if it is that little bit cheaper!!!
Well iv been in the same situation but Samsung customer support representative from my country(Romania) told me that as long as i have a bill of sale anything like that i can have 2 years warranty no matter if the bill is on my name or not.
Just to add to the thread....
I bumped into a friend today who I knew was also after an S2, and she told me (with a BIG smirk on her face) that she'd managed to get one off eBay this week - one of the unopened, unwanted upgrade jobbies - and she's already been on the Samsung site and registered the phone without a problem, no proof of purchase or anything was requested....just the IMEI/serial number!
She said she managed to get it for £420.....almost a hundred quid less than the few sites that do have them in stock here in the UK, are asking for them!!!
So it seems provided that the phones are new/unregistered...you're on a winner!
(Saying that, I've just noticed one S2 I was watching, has just gone for £520!! wtf!!)

Tell her to take the smirk off her face. They're going to ask for an invoice from an authorized dealer once its received at the repair depot. If they think the invoice is questionable they'll ask for a credit card receipt or canceled check or contact the dealer directly. I've had this happen to friends with Sony and the claim of "but I paid cash" or "it was a gift" held no water.
this happens all the time. No receipt = no luck. For all they care you could take in a rock and say its the samsung galaxy s 5 No receipt. No repairs.
God help you if you have a problem, because Samsung won't!

I seem to be in a unique position to answer your question. I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 for my wife a few months ago. The tablet kept restarting, so I contacted Samsung. I wound up sending it to their service center. At that point I was told (rather brusquely) that Samsung considers to warranty on any of their devices void if the device is purchased on eBay. They were not willing to even check it unless I paid a $150.00 deposit. So, if you buy any Samsung product on eBay, eBid, or any other online only seller, Samsung won't warranty it. You can ask for a helping hand, but all they'll give you is the middle finger!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings!
I'm travelling to NYC in a few weeks and am really interested in buying this phone. The cheapest way I found is ordering it from Clove or Handtec and have it sent to a Fedex office for me to pick it up (it will be impossible to receive it at my place).
The only inconvenient I have is that I will be here for 11 days, and in case i order it 3 or 4 days before leaving i don't know if I will receive it on time, as I'm not familiar with US customs.
If anyone has another idea, please tell me, as I'm desiring to buy this phone from a long time now and in Argentina is impossible to do so (it's $1300 at least!).
Thanks for your help and excuse me for my english, I'm working on it
Cheapest way to get it my my opinion would be to Purchase it on www.expansys-usa.com its 719.99 use promo LSJUNE25 for 25$ off. Have it shipped and call fedex to hold at fedex location. Goto the fedex location and pick it up. I got it over at expansys it took 3 days to deliver to NYC and I live in NYC. It's really upto you. If you are staying at a hotel, you can get it shipped to the hotel and get it. If you need any help let me know.
The phone actually cost me 694.99 after the 25$ off. If you sign up for ebates.com you can get 26.50 cash back so that will drop the price even further.
Also.. No tax/ free shipping over at expansys.
The only problem of buying at EXpansys US is that they require an US billing address, which I don't have. And I'm not staying at a hotel, it's an apartment where nobody will be available to receive it.
Check mobilecityonline. They are located in downtown NYC

MCO is an option, the only problem is it'll cost 100 bucks more as it's 740 plus tax. That is a bit off my budget , considering that from UK I can get it with case, screen protector and MHL adaptor for 750 with shipping.

Hmmm. Yes. Do you have any friends here in the US that you can give cash and they can order it for you from expansys? Also another idea, they have an option to pay with paypal. Maybe that will bypass the US billing address. Give them a call, They have great support working there. They'll help you out.

There´s no one I know that lives in the US, I've already contacted them and pretty much told me there's no way I could buy it. I'll try with Expansys UK, as I think they take international credit cards. I read in a thread that someone from NYC already bought from them. Thanks for your help.

Alright. Hope all ends well. Some tips for NYC... Please .. OH PLEASE! don't stand in the middle of the streets of nyc looking up at the pretty lights. People have to get places so move over to the side and don't stop randomly in the middle. That's the only reason i hate tourists. Other than that enjoy your trip!

Thanks but I want to buy a brand new.
Hi guys,
I need advice as to what to look for when purchasing a second hand phone besides the obvious (i.e insert sim test phone, net, jack).
I'll be asking for proof of purchase and warranty (not sure if that helps lol) BUT what else should I be looking for?
I was told that when the phones are reported lost or stolen, they get blocked and will not be able to use locally or abroad =/
So far, I've been very lucky with the phones I have purchased second hand (mytouch and a SGS2), but someone brought the whole reporting issue and freaked me out
Cheers!
Just make sure you see proof of purchase, if its bought outright it can't be blocked or blacklisted but if its contract and the person doesn't pay it for any reason then it can be.
Sent From My Omega'd Galaxy S3 ...
Had exactly that situation when I bought a HD2 for my daughter, the eBay seller then claimed on her insurance for a lost phone, the IMEI was registered as blocked and the phone wouldn't register on any network. I found out the phone had been the subject of claim and recovered the money via eBay, no idea what happened to the seller but I hope they now have a criminal record.
I've bought five phones second hand, only had trouble with the one but you are entirely at the mercy/honest of the seller. Ask them to make you a statement via the eBay message system that they own clear title to the handset and will convey that title to you on purchase - this will give you some recourse if you need it. But, as said above, many sales are contract upgrades which still belong to the network provider, it could still be blocked years after you bought it.
Great advice! thanks guys. I've been lucky with second hand phones until I was told about the blocking situation, then I became paranoid. No more gumtree =/

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a cheap deal for the phone for Christmas. After checking the usual mobile network deals I'm not convinced to pay £38/ month for 2 years.
Instead I saw new phones on ebay for £370 from a trusted seller.
Phones come from "outside UK" warehouse(I'm located in the UK) with 2 pin plug. I wonder if these are dodgy deals, or worth trying it?
The seller itself is providing the warranty for one year and they have very good feedback.
Here is one : LINK
I simply could not find a cheaper one around. DO you think I could go ahead with the buy?

e_cell has absolutely no warranty on the phone. I asked them previously and here is the answer:
"Dear soniboy84,
We appreciated your email and thank you for showing interest with our item.
Please be advised that this item is sold without warranty, express or implied. Should you want to avail of a warranty for your item, you may purchase one separately from SquareTrade.
Should you have any other inquiries, please contact us again.

Hmmm, I'm probably in the minority here but I'd beware. Their shipping them in from China and for that price I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're clones. They do have good feedback, but I just don't see how they could possibly sell the real article that cheap without it being dodgy. My guess is if you were able to get it on a network, it would get locked soon after. The other reason I think it's unsafe is that the warranty is with themselves, not an official Sony warranty, which basically means there isn't one.
I'd steer clear.

Thanks for the feedback, that's what I'm looking for.
I'm about 50-50% and I need some more either negative or positive feedback about it to decide.
The problem is that the next phone up on ebay is £419 which is quite high :S
I want to stay on 3 network, so most online phone shops(carphone, mobiles, etc) is out

They're the same. Everything comes from China to the UK, then they post via Royal mail from the UK.
Pretty sure we can wipe our butt with the warranty!
