I was just thinking about how roms that dont' come with the google stock apps for licensing reasons, are there any restrictions on what gapps can be installed?
For instance, the last time I had to do this was for my Acer A500. The rom in question didn't include Gapps, but in the thread there was a link to the app in a flashable zip. Would I need to use that zip, and that zip only for that particular rom? Would that zip work with other roms?
If not, what is the stipulation? Do the apps themselves need to be at a particualar version to work with a particular version of the rom... Lemme explain if your confused:
Would an ICS rom, version 4.x.x need a gapp, say the play store, to be at version 4 also, or a version compatible with ICS?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &
Read the Forum Rules Ref Posting
Moving to Q&A
you need to flash a compatible package, for example, there are diferences between 4.0.XX and 2.3.XX on google play
i think every 4.0.XX gapps package is compatible with every 4.0.XX custom rom

Hi,
Sorry for making new topic, but i couldn't find the Official thread neither a useful thread about this ROM.
I've just downloaded the rom from http://miuiandroid.com/roms/miui-development-roms/
1. Is this the best stable version? (meaning newest directly from this site, 2.1.13)
2. Can i flash SpeedMod or Siyah with this ROM?
3. I've noticed that some have five icons at the Dock, how can i activate this function, or is it something included in every theme?
4. Is the App folder function built in, in this ROM?
5 I've noticed there's the official ROM, and Galnet, and some others. Which one is the best and fastest?
thanks guys, and please share your thoughts about this ROM.

That's because this site is nothing to do with MIUI. On the link you provided, the second button at the top is a link to their forums where you can discuss it.
Hello everyone
I really want to install this theme Im running the latest ICS STUCK ROM XXLPQ (4.0.3)
Does it work on this rom ?
I need to root my SGS2 for it ?
thanks in advance
HI
from your post my advice will be not to flash this theme!!!!!!!!
what is stuck rom? never heard of it. is it here on xda? please post a link to it.
Stock rom, no you need a deodexed stock rom. Use the Wanam lite stock deodexed.
Also this should be in Q&A section.
first of all thanks for the fast reply
I have downloaded the Stock rom from Samfirmware.com
here is the download link : http://hotfile.com/dl/149515233/24a7b72/I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXXLPD_XEH.zip.html
I really hate how TouchWiz destroy the ICS on the SGSII because of that I want to install the ICS DOMINATION THEME and here is the post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334922
now for the questions :
Do I need to root my Device first ?
Does it work at my Rom ? (XXPLQ 4.0.3 Stock)
No it will not work!
Like the guy in the post above you said, if you bothered to read, is that you need a deodexed rom.
Go to the Android development section (not original) and look for Wanam's deodexed stock ROMs. They must be deodexed! This is important.
Sent from my GT-I9100
but after I installing the wanam rom I will not need to be rooted ?
and simply flash the Theme in the recovery after it ?
hi friends, why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page? How to know if the kernel is supported?? which kernel can i use with Ressurection Remix v3.1.4 ??
everything is running stable, but i cannot use Stweaks, and cannot overclock.
can i use Siyah kernel? it says it doesnt support 4.2.x ... which kernel supports this?? what am i missing .. i searched the threads and forums but was unable to find RELEVENT info..
it almost seems like no one is using RR
I try very hard not to create a thread, but search did nt help.. what keywords would you use to get the answers? can anybody also help me get a general idea?
these are "similar" threads.. still not the same though.. coz im not asking for battery life or anything. just a list of compatible kernels. is there no such list??!

Aokp
Frankly Speaking Dont Use The Rom
It was Good when it was new
But now its Outdated
And hasnt been updated For about 2-3 months
Better Use this AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2178228
Its official and Good
And you can use stock kernal(the one which comes preinstalled)
or
Tamasek's Kernal
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797109
I Would suggest you to use stock kernal as it is finely tuned for the rom
custom kernal sometimes damage the rom
Dont Forget to press Thanks
why doesnt the [ROM] posters add a "Supported kernels list" link to their page
That would mean testing every kernel and every continual kernel update .
Devs build rom either with a kernel or choice of kernels .
Want another kernel then users are expected to bother to read the faqs guides and how to first . A bit of knowledge gives the user enough to read a kernels description and decide for themselves . Or even ask in the rom or kernel thread .

I'm a newb myself but from what I understand - nightly means a ROM still in development (i.e. not fully complete) whereas a stable release is a ROM that has all the essentials and only getting tweaking.
Galaxy S3 will never get a stable release as Samsung don't want to give us the Exynos sources needed to make a complete ROM (i.e. to make it 'stable' per se). However, the nightlies on some builds are fantastic and can easily be used for daily purposes. Don't know much about Pac Man Rom though, so can't help you there.
Hope that helps and I'm sure someone will come to correct me very soon!

And your question should really go in the Q&A forum, so it might get deleted or moved!
Hi ,
I've got couple questions to this rom but i can't write in direct topic yet, if wrong forum than change me
1. Please tell is it possible to set 5 icons in menu like s5? i don't want to set any luncher. For now i've got installed Wanam.
2. Second question do you have in your s3 little luggy/stutter while moving screen? Is it possible to improve it? Ofc with out changing rom
3. To users of this rom. Which kernel do you use and what is advantages? Is it a lot different between kernels?
4. ... I forgot this one

1. Yes, look at the screenshots in the dev thread
2. If it isn't smooth enough for you, install a custom kernel like Boeffla and try different governors to find the best suited for your expected smoothness/battery saving expectations. Try also not to have to much apps running at the same time, try Greenify it's great.
3. All popular kernels are great, and the settings you choose can change a lot the performance and battery saving of your phone.
Thank you for your response
1. Yes i know, that's the question how to do it? Because I've got 4x5 i my rom.
2. Can i flash it without rom, just kernel? (+ wipe dalvic?)
I've instelled UPSM manager, but i don't see any changes? Greenify is better and is it the same app?
3. I should instal this one "Kernel version 7.x is only for ported Samsung based Kitkat 4.4.4 roms (e.g. back-to-n00t)"

1. I don't know then. Why don't you try this rom if you think you'll like it?
2. You could, but first you need root and a custom recovery (if not already done). Greenify put apps running in background in hibernation, read its description.
3. If you read the OP, there are versions for 4.1, 4.3, 4.4.2 and 4.4.4
1. I've already installed this rom "Blekota Note 4 lite" , and as you see there is 5x5 on ss. But in my phone I've got 4x5.
And now I'm interested in how to set 5x5?
2. Already done all of stuff root + custom. I've already installed in my phone this ROM
The question is that is it possible without flashing all (rom + kernel), just kernel?
Greenify put apps running in background in hibernation, read its description.

Ok, so i try this one.
3. I've read all this stuff and faq, thx
BTW: It's not my first custom rom (and as you can see I do not know everything), but I had no need to register on this site beacuse site is free. And now I need to get 10 posts to write in direct topic
So I ask about that here.
1. Still don't know how?
For others,
2. Yes, you can flash kernel but restriction is to have the same Rom (4.4.4 -> 4.4.4) It concerns Boeffla Kernel
3. I think Boeffla Kernel is better than stock or arter kernel.

The 10 post rule applies only for development threads. Each ROM has its development thread and its Q&A thread. So you can ask questions about a ROM in its Q&A thread even if you don't have 10 posts yet.
If you want advices on how to write 10 posts without spamming, read this and that.
