Anyone else on stock GB suddenly get the "Charm" option in settings?? - HTC Rezound

I know it wasn't there before... showed up this morning under the Wireless & Networks entry. It has settings for the charm light thing that comes with the HTC Rhyme. Makes me want to run out and by the charm light to hang outside of my pocket.... but not really.
Seriously though, did this show up on anyone else's Rez??

It has been mentioned before. The charm does work with this phone. It does appear randomly though.

It showed up when the OTA updated my phone back on stock, maybe had like one custom build GB ROM show it since then.
Devs, Y U No want my Rezound to be fabulous with my purse?!

If only they had manlier versions of the charm...

A charm is a typically a little token item, similar to a keychain, that attaches by a strap to those little niches you find dug into the edge of some phones and mp3 players.
The HTC Charm for this phone plugs in the headphone and uses the same connection that headsets use to flash on an incoming call or message. It is a feature item for the HTC Rhyme. Comes in pink or white, Google it.

Just showed up on mine tonight.

Swype Beta doesn't support our screen size

The title pretty much sums it up. I went to swype.com, checked the FAQ's, and visited the forums. The closest they get is 1280 x 800 for tablets. We need 1280 x 720.
Bummer...
***EDIT***
SWIPE WORKS! The newest beta is amazing!
works just fine here
Works fine for me too!
I have the problem where if I Swype too fast it cuts off my word and makes it two separate, irrelevant ones.

I'd already done that, but it's a good suggestion. Maybe it'll happen less after I get used to it again. I'd switched to SlideIT and then SwiftKey before returning to Swype just recently.
I haven't had the issue. I have had a few instances of it bouncing around, but it was because I had another finger on the screen, or it was damp/dirty.

If not, I think that will ruin my experience.

I tried multiple roms and so far it seems there is no fix.
For example I was on the web browser. Backed out with the home key to go to home screen. I then went to settings to change my display settings went back to browser and the whole page had to reload and refresh.
My GS2 and Galaxy Nexus was better then this phone in the performance department.
Not to mention after you start installing apps and setting up your home screens the phone just gets slower and slower and less snappy.

Bad enough that my lte is sitting in a drawer as I use an alpha cm9 build on my evo 3d. Multitasking, background downloads stopping, and overall sluggishness compared to stock drove me away.

Evo one mutli tasking

Is it just me who notices that the evo doesn't really multi task well? When ever I jump back to an app using the recent apps button the app reloads or refreshes. For example I'm playing a game, pause the game, shoot a few texts, check my email, come back to the game and it restarts. Bte I'm not rooted and have just installed the latest update. Thank you much.

Can't speak for sense 4.1, but 4.0 butchered multi tasking. It greatly limits the amount of simultaneous processes running in the background. I could not go back to sense at this point.

There are already a few threads about this, also from the Q&A sticky at the top of this very forum:
Racer Of All said:
Q: Multitasking does not work like in previous phones, why?
A: Pretty much the phone kills applications off relatively quickly. Most ROMs have addressed this issue and you should receive better multitasking while running them. If you do not want to run a ROM a fix some people found is to go into settings> developer options scroll to the bottom and select "At most 4 processes" under Background process limit.

So no, there's no real fix for sense based ROMs. Most of the ROMs help alleviate this issue but none outright fix it. HTC also claims that this is their intended behavior and that there is no issue with multitasking, so don't expect an official fix from them.
AOSP or CM10 is your only current option.

Sounds like the developer option/fix will drain battery. Do you guys know if the sg3 multi-task better than the evo? I just picked up the phone and still experimenting on it. If all goes well ill keep the phone. So far I like everything. To me, the cons are battery and multitasking.

[Q] Which ROM's currently support MHL?

Now that AR Liberator is functional, I've finally taken the plunge and ordered an AppRadio 2 and I'll be able to do something with an Android device that should have been done eons ago...fully integrate it for use in the car.
My question is, which Custom ROM's currently support MHL connections to other devices? The MHL connection is vital for device mirroring. Any info on the subject is greatly appreciated.

First, the rezound will not send audio over MHL. So just be aware of that.
Second, any sense 3.6 ROM is almost guaranteed to work. Everything else, forget about it. Won't work.
Yep, fully aware. Audio is generally done with the cord or Bluetooth.

Any of the 3.6 ROMs work, but its better if you use a Launcher that supports landscape. I was using Neo's Adrenaline with Nova Launcher and the latest Funky Kernel. ARL works really well with that set up. Recently drove 15+ hours with minor issues. It's still a work in progress...still trying to figure out a way to power the MHL adapter and keep the phone charged. Once I get things finalized, I'll post the results.

Anyway a fast charge kernel let's you force the kernel to AC charge mode, otherwise it will only draw 500ma.

I've been using Snuzzo's latest. With Incredicontrol (wonderful app BTW, the best of the CPU controller apps), you can set it for fast charge. Trust me, it's an issue with my set up...I'm doing something non standard . The set up that I have in our Odyssey is standard (Pioneer MHL kit, EdoTech power supply). It charges with no issues.
The screen standby app is a must! Been using it since v1.4, no issues on the Rezound...once you learn how to work around the bugs. My wife's s3...that's a different story.

The only ROMs I've used on the the s3 w/ARL are TW based. I'm assuming that any of the TW based ROMs work. Couldn't recommend one over the other...way too many to count. I'm not certain that any of the AOSP ROMs support MHL. I've heard that CM10 does, but don't quote me on that.
When it comes to the s3, I would not recommend it with ARL. The snow issues are hit and miss, so much so that they make it virtually unusable. I've tried several adapters, and have not been successful with any of them, including the official Sammy ones.
Check the link for the site that mjones73 posted earlier. That's the place to go for ARL

The biggest thing is the set up, which is understandable since it's HK based. Once it's dialed in, it's pretty sweet. The only real issue that I've had was GPS lock in navigation. Fixing the permissions and and applying an older GPS fix cured it. Not sure which fixed the problem, since I did them at the same time, but it works.

Hi Everyone,
Just got my Appradio 3 and was wondering if there is any updated information on ROMs that support MHL on the rezound...It appears to be working on the stock 3.6 sense ROM for me....but i am looking for less bloat or even a newer interface/gui. How do you like the OneMax ? Been contemplating on whether or not to get one. Was really hoping it would have wireless charging, can't believe they left that option out. Other than that I really like the specs.

If you take "selfies" alot I'd get note 3. Front camera makes me look different. Might just be the lighting effects in the camera or something. Battary is amazing. You can't tell a difference in the cpu speed from max to note. Microsd is a plus. Only rom really available for the max is Viper but that all I use anyways.
