I'm using mean rom ics as well and noticed it to be kind of sluggish. I have almost every widget that is available in my list on the homescreen too, that might be decreasing the speed, but that is how I measure how fast the ROM is. I would recommend downloading TB (titanium backup), back up Apps Only, and start flashing my friend. There are a few other threads in this Evo3D forum asking similar questions...just do some searching. "Best rom, favorite rom, etc."
Newts rc3 on 1.5 s on with 4ext. Runs like a champ, sleeps like its had way too much ambien. No reason to downgrade or mod for s off, it runs great with very few problems (if any at all).

D3rp ROM, because it is packed with Drama.
Newts sense 4.0 rc3. I've tried other ice cream sandwhich roms but there's something about sense 4.0. everything that I need works and there's no reason.for me to switch.

MEAN ROM gb 4.3.. i love this rom.. nothing has been solid enough to get me to switch.. its hellA fast.. super stable.. and battery life with dodava's 5.4 kernel is off the hook!!! for real.. i get the best battery life with that combo
all i can say is i love sense 4. try newt's 3.0 if you haven't already, it's great. don't try joelz right now, it has a huge bug on most/some phones that sucks as much battery as possible to turn the phone into a welding iron. if you want something all-working, 100% d3rp rom is the best out there.
Mean Rom and d3rp Rom have always felt slow to me... It's not nearly as smooth as ZR3DX or inbREDed Rom, which are my two favorites so far. I'm running MikVirgin and it's actually really nice...
I use d3rp ROM for 3.6 plus I love the themeing. Then I alternate between sense 4.0 occasionally.

No reason to not have everything work.
It is more stable than my stock rom on EVO 4G LTE.
Whichever ROM doesn't have both cores enabled and set to a high idle speed for whatever reason. Doesn't leave me with much. Maybe Cool Sense is promising.
ok just switched my favorite to joelz rom. so smooth.... so crazy smooth.... sense 4 great battery life. just make sure to flash superuser bcuz for some reason it's borked
I have for the moment settled with SOS M VER 1.9. It is smooth. Great battery life. Allows you to customize your rom at installation itself. Combines AOSP and sense 3.6. I have ICS AOSP dialer and contacts on sense. Very nice. You can configure to get the best of both sense and Stock ICS AOSP.
Another vote for MeanRom. I'm using 1.9 with sense 3.6. Great stable rom.

Anything better or nicer then that ROM ?
I used to have MikG for my old EVO 4G & it was awesome .

It's all personal preference. I'm currently using viperROM 1.3 with silverneedle5 kernel. My antutu benchmark is 4425 with the default settings loaded.
You can just flash themes, so cosmetics shouldn't be a major determining factor. Just need to decide if you prefer Sense or ASOP or something else. The dev forum has about a dozen options.

I'm using Zone23's OMJEVOZone. Its pretty stock with green replaced with blue. Doesn't have anything in the theme that sticks out like a sore thumb or looks like something the dev forgot to theme something, Zone did a very thorough job on it.

Yes, Viper comes with the stock kernel. It still uses the OC Daemon which will underclocks your phone in sleep mode, then automatically bring it back up to speed with no lag. Great for battery life.
Viper also supports his rom like crazy... 1 hour responses in his thread are pretty common.
I'll probably give it a try sometime over this weekend .
Does it have themes ? Tweaks ? Goodies ? ;-)

I've tried a bit of everything (I guess you can say I'm a flashaholic). I liked SupraROM the most for Empire's ability to make a super stable ROM with the AOSP aesthetics. Very very nice. ViperROM and Synergy are other good ones too.
VirusRom cuz Virus is a BAMF lol, but the rom is super clean and fast it has lots
of work done along with stripped down sense which happens to be the best for me =)

CM definitely. I love AOSP, and I love the customization that CM has.
CleanROM 1.3 DE for me. Fast, clean and liking Sense, MiUi aosp and cm7 all look like iPhone OS. And a few things still dont work on those builds. 4G, 3D camera and some have wifi problems.
Miui here. Customization and speed is crazy.
And as long as this thread stays civil, it should be fun.

Synergy Rom latest nightly build is amazingly fast and smooth.. everything works except screenshot picture pressing menu + power..
Definitely infected eternity. This is the fastest and smoothest ROM I've been on yet. I like the theme as well. I an a sense fan so I enjoy this ROM more than aosp, but I do like flashing cm once in a while as well.

I'm currently running 5 Rom's with boot manager. If you have not checked out that app yet u guys need to. But as far as favorite ROM that goes to warm2.3 as it is pure silk. I love the theme and the modded rosie just looks so so clean.
Currently I'm running miui as my phone ROM. I love the the themeing you can do on it plus its fast and stable. I don't worry Bout 4g as I live 400+ miles from any sort of 4g. But I do like to show off the 3d camera every now and again. So I invested in boot manager. Now if I want I just boot up a different rom. No more flashing back to stock to change a prl or use epst I just boot up a sense ROM change it and boot back to aosp.
Kinda off track I know lol. But its so hard to decide what I wanna run at any given moment. I like eternity for raw speed. I like miui for the theming. Warm 2.3 is silky smooth and sexy outta the box. Cm7 is well its cm7 its awesome. I've got different rom's for different things. Warm is set up to usb tether to my Linux pc where as eternity is set up to usb tether with winxp. I use cm with tiamat kernel kernel if i know I'm gonna be away from a charger for a while. Miui to be flashy and show off. And I also use bender bliss sense 3.5 just cause I can..
Currently I have my setup as follows
Phone Rom is miui with tiamat kernel
Slot one is infected eternity with antrax kernel
Slot two is warm 2.3 with bc blend kernel
Slot three is cyanogen mod7 valpha3 tiamat kernel
Slot four is bender bliss sense 3.5 with stock kernel.
So there those are my top five in no particular order whatsoever. Thanks to boot manager I don't need to pick "just one" ever again.

Well no AOSP roms will have 3d or 4g for a while, so a sense based rom is your only choice. Have you looked at Myns Two Point Three rom? That is the only sense based rom I can find myself using, absolutely love it. Or for more of a AOSP feel, you can check out the slimmed down Senseless rom from scrosler...

I always find myself going back and forth between AOSP and Sense. 4G isnt too important to me but i do love 3D. I work in a 4G area but we have wifi at work so im always connected to that. I do like some sense features but i cant find a Sense ROM/Kernel combination that is stable enough for me. I have tried a lot of Sense 3.0 ROMs and just cant find one good enough.

Exactly what he said. I can't get away from the pure beauty and stability of MIUI, so i have the best of both worlds.... best of all 5 worlds rather, because that's how many roms you can have configured at once with boot manager..... If you want MIUI, sense, and AOSP all running on the same phone, this is the way to do it.
I am running 1.12.02 Miui as my main phone rom/daily driver, running senseless, and running Warm all at the same time. 2 open slots for if i want to try a rom out.
Seriously, boot manager makes it stupid easy to switch between roms.
I used CleanRom and it is pretty good. I am using Android Revolution right now and it's pretty good now.

Eternity 1.4.2 is the best Sense 3.0 ROM that supports 4G and 3D IMO. Warm TwoPointThree is ok but I just found too many small little issues with it
using the AnthraX kernels with either Myn's or InfectedROM Eternity would be best for stability, performance, and battery overall.

Because I'm stupid at HTC phone modding and it seemed easy as hell to put on my phone
the complete 3.14 leak, only rooted it and froze all the bloatware.
it's fast, it's stable, and I get the same, if not better battery life than the stock GB I was on previously.
Currently at 53% battery at 10.5 hours on battery with 50 minutes of screen-on time.
I am s-off.

any idea if the nwe 3.2 version with the RIL fix is better? i was not very happy initially with that rom. was slow to me anyway. but i LOVE sense4.0.
CleanROM DE ... closest thing available to AOSP. The thing I really wished I had while on AOSP on the EVO 4G was the Sense camera and phone. This has it!

Cleanrom 4.5 standard. I've ran many other roms as well and they are all very good. I like the stock look and feel with some minor adjustments which cleanrom provides.

I'm also on chingys ineffibilis. Great rom, I tried a few others but this rom work best for me. I used his gb rom also

I also just installed Ineffabilis Deus 1.0 this morning and I'm liking it. I was a fan of the Ineffabilis GB roms also.
Rezrom 2.4, because I wanted an ICS ROM with Sense 4.0 and it looked to be the most stable. First time unlocking/rooting/flashing and I managed not to brick it
I was tired of waiting for the OTA, and that didn't even have Sense 4.0 so as far as I'm concerned right now this software is better than anything the Rezound will ever get officially.

I'm using my own ROM based off the initial ICS 4.0.1 leak.
I'm using this particular leak because it's an early build, so HTC hasn't made as many significant changes to ICS yet... it has a lot less "Sense" in it, and plays nicer with more true AOSP files, and requires little work to fix most of the annoying bugs. I've added in my own ramdisk, init.d support, SebastianFM's OC kernel, a lot of the usual optimizations (zipalign on boot, sdcard tweeks, etc), and its great! I am trying to get that 100% AOSP look, however I still have the stupid Sense call screens to figure out..
Clean Rom 4.5 because it works and it's pretty fast. I'd like to try a Sense 4 Rom, but I need Bluetooth so until that's stable I just can't do it. Not for any length of time anyway. Looking forward to AOSP and maybe MIUI (fond memories on my Inc) or at least kernels for better batt life.

Personally running MEANROM currently (newest).. I was just running Clean DE over the weekend and that worked really well (great battery life) but I like Sense too much. I guess besides MEANROM my other daily driver would be OMJ's
Viper is/was a great ROM, just out-dated - can't wait for new venom release.

Been using MeanROM here since about a week after getting my phone. Great ROM and the Dev is very active.
I used and liked MEAN ROM
but I recently tried OMJ's HTC ELTE V1.3 Odex
and I think I'm keeping OMJ's for a while since my phone seems to like it better,
I get better battery life and performance.
Mean Rom right now. I would much prefer Cyanogen Mod but as of now I'm having problems with them as a daily. Besides that the CM Roms don't have LTE so I can use it once I get LTE.

If the Talk app worked in Rejuvenated, it would be perfect. No Sense, killer battery life and stability.
That said, the next best I've found is Fresh.
Flex's stock w/goodies. Insane battery life, heavy user and get home at night with over 20%. I did use Fresh with the OG Evo and didn't have any complaints.
I've heard so many good things about MeanROM that I'm gonna go ahead and switch over to that. I'm currently using Charmeleon ROM, buuuuuut apparently that ROM has been abandoned by it's developers.

What do you keep the process limit at in developer options?
I've been using CleanROM DE since I rooted and I haven't had any reason to flash another ROM.
Personally waiting on MAYHEM by steal25 and dased 14 till then running flex360 completely reded out
