Footprints App Missing - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I know most aren't as wild about this app as I am but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find this app to work with ICS. I've tried Geo-Tagging as well as the Footprints app in the Market but it's not the same as the one that came stock with most HTC phones up until the LTE. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I can't believe HTC omitted this app. I even contacted them and they pointed me to the app in the Market that, to be frank, sucks! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They also left out the HTC Notes app that's on the international One X. Not happy about that either.

The Notes app and Flashlight app are located in HTC Hub. However, I'm stuck without my Footprints. Oh well, time to whip something up. LoL

HTC Notes, Where is it located in the HTC Hub? I've looked all thru it.

It isn't.
The HTC notes app was on the One X, sad that it isn't on the Evo.

My fault. I saw a couple Note apps but neither were HTC Notes.

Supernote works great. It is from the Transformer Prime, but it works on our phone too.
Someone posted it in this section recently I do believe. Search for it and check it out...

Update: I couldn't find the Footprints App but I've found something even better. It's called SpotMarker Pro in the market. I am working closely with the Dev of this app to get it set up to how Footprints was set up. I actually like it better than Footprints and now I don't have to root to get this app.

Thanks, I'm quite a fan of Footprints as well. Good to see another option.
Sent via Tapatalk on my EVO LTE

No problem. It's a great alternative for those that don't wanna root and still have the ability to document the places you've been. The good thing about Spotmarker is you can export your files as a kmz file and that's the same extension that Footprints uses so if you decide to root and tackle Footprints, you won't miss a beat.

Foursquare isn't the likely alternative?
I love it.
Sent from my EVO LTE

I wanted something like Footprints that doesn't rely on logging in on a website. I believe, and I could be wrong, but Foursquare is a web based program that requires you to be online for it to work properly and requires one to sign in. I'd rather not do that so that's why I said Spotmarker was excellent because it works just as well as Footprints, if not better.

Probably better, Footprints never made transporting the data a possibility so sadly you still lose it with every new HTC that had Footprints. So Spotmarker would be better in that respect I guess.
Me:
I turned to Foursquare to retain the data on the phones & PC with the ability to share.

[Q] Looking for Profiles App

I have a very handy app on my Droid (original) called Setting Profiles (Probeez) which allows me to set my phone state based on certain conditions.
Examples:
Keep the screen on when the headphones are plugged in.
Set the device to silent on Fridays from 12:00 to 1:15 when I am at work (based on GPS).
Turn off the WiFi when I am not at home or at work (based on GPS)
etc.
This app does not appear in the Android Market when searching from the HTC Flyer. I assume that's because many of its conditions are based on a phone state and are irrelevant to the tablet.
Can anyone recommend similar profile manager for the HTC Flyer?
Meanwhile, I am going to find out from the developer if / when it will support the Flyer.
Thanks
try Timeriffic, good app!
Thank you
Not as granular as Setting Profiles but good enough for now.
Has anyone tried Tasked on the Flyer. It looks like it might be as useful as Setting Profiles. The reviews seem to be all over the place depending on your hardware.

Yep. No problems running Tasker on Flyer. It works exactly as it is supposed to.

Locale and Tasker are very similar. They even use the same SOUTH, so their plugins are compatible. Tasker is bit more powerful when it comes to creating complex conditions. I used Locale before, but eventually made the switch to Tasker.

It's a native feature to android ics, if it is what I'm thinking you're soaking of
Sent from my EVO using XDA
Like what coffeehandle just said, it's a native feature to the O/S. All you need to do is press and hold a widget, then drag it onto another widget. This will create a folder for you. You can then rename it to your liking.

HTC Widgets on Galaxy S3?

Hi all. I just went from the HTC MT4G to an S3 on Tmo. While I love the S3 so far, there are a few things I miss from my HTC. The main thing is the HTC Calendar and it's widget. I figured out (by searching) how to bring over my ringtones and notifications, but when I tried copying and installing the Calendar.apk on my S3, but it says it can't.
How am I able to do this? Surely there has to be a way. I've tried searching, but can't seem to find what I need...

Most of HTCs applications have stuff and resources in the framework-res and htc.framework-res (or h/e it's named).
you COULD port it by porting the resources and then install the application.
But this is actually not easy.
The easiest thing you could do is search an alternative in the Play Store.
If I'm wrong, pelase correct me.
I hope I answered your question suitable.

You would have to port all of Rosie to get it working. All of HTC widgets will not work without the framework they created.
I believe there is a port for older Samsung devices but not the S3 as far as I know.
I guess I was hoping someone can steer me to a post on how to do this, or even provide some instructions...

I read somewhere you only need Rosie to get it to work.
Well, that should not be too hard...
Take a look at THIS THREAD
Read ALL POSTS CAREFULLY.
If you follow that steps and have the right tool for signing, you could get there.
Buy NigthMare a beer too when it works (NightMare is the who came up with the ideas on porting it in the above thread).
Good luck

Try this one. Make sure to backup everything first. Note you don't install this as APK from within the running ROM.

Twitter/Facebook clients with custom columns?

Ok. So up until now I have been using TweetDeck (or rather TweakDeck -- it's improved counterpart) and I guess I can still use it for a bit but Twitter has announced that the Adobe Air, Android, and iOS versions will be discontinued and will be removed from their app stores by May. There isn't a chance that just keeping the apk around will suffice though because apparently the app relies on depreciated APIs as well. What I'm looking for is a Twitter/Facebook client that will support custom columns to be added. I had 3 on mine. One for a work feed with very little activity (they post very specific updates) and a couple of other people that I want to watch that would of gotten lost in the noise of my news feed otherwise. I'm not finding any clients other than TweetDeck/TweakDeck that provide this. Can anyone provide me with any suggestions?
Thanks.
Source (app being discontinued): http://tweetdeck.posterous.com/an-update-on-tweetdeck
P.S. - I'm willing to take a Twitter only client with the custom columns since I only used it on that end but it becomes a pain since I've already gotten into a trend of reposting some twitter items onto my facebook profile for visibility and having just one app makes it easier.
Plume is worth checking out
You could try Ubersocial for Twitter.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twidroid&hl=en
It has the ability to cross post to facebook as well.
This is a very good app, and is my go-to app for the twittersphere.
Trying Plume and Scope right now, and I believe I've tried Ubersocial in the past
Any app that lets you have one unified timeline that displays both Twitter AND Facebook posts at the same time? Plume wants them to be separate columns, and Scope wants to add additional 'social content' from places like Reddit, The Verge, and ThinkGeek into my timeline
All horrible
I've tried the following:
HootSuite
Plume
Scope
and they are all terrible. They contain much too much crap, they all want me to register with THEIR service (I need more accounts like I need a hole in the head), but worst of all, they don't allow me a single-column view of both Facebook and Twitter. Arguably the best feature of TweetDeck/TweakDeck. Also, they all have ads, and they're all annoying.
I honestly don't know what to do. I've been searching for a client ever since the original announcement, but I haven't been able to find anything. At this point I'm considering just writing my own. I'm not going to say "how hard can it be?", but as a software developer by trade, it's not just idle speculation. I think the hardest would be getting the Twitter and Facebook APIs in line. No ads, no registration, no bull****.
Edited to add: Mind you I don't *want* to have to do this, so any suggestions would be preferable.
Yeah, Plume seems like the best alternative, and it lacks significant features. I can't see every column status all at once, can't customize individual column notifications, and can't add users to their own column. May have to add requests to their support page. But I'm just using TweakDeck until it stops functioning. Apparently Facebook has already stopped working, so I haven't even seen Facebook updates for awhile. Lol. Hate when there's not that one perfect solution.

I still see facebook updates in TweakDeck. Occasionally, on the desktop version (0.38.2), the facebook updates won't come in, but a restart or two (of the application) usually solves that.
Bump. Anyone find any good clients that allow custom columns? The next best thing I've found so far is Scope Beta.

So Tweetdeck stopped working for everyone, right? Want to make sure, cause I don't want to let go. Lol. Thought it was supposed to end in May, so at least I got a couple more months out of it. Will have to try Seesmic. Didn't stack up when I tried it a couple years ago. Hootsuite looks good, but still can't find one that adds a single user's timeline *and* per-column updates.

I'm looking for this exact same thing too! After TweetDeck stopped working, I immediately Googled and found TweakDeck, which is basically the exact same thing. Worked great, until the past week or so. Guessing it's dead again, but this time I didn't have any luck finding a good copy.
So yeah, I'll try that Scope Beta out, is it on PC too perhaps?

Unfortunately there's no desktop version. But I think TweetDeck for desktop is still up. I think only the Android version is dead. I don't think the desktop version of TweetDeck allows for custom Facebook columns though.

Ah yes my bad, Desktop version still works, very nice. I was just using a very outdated version.
Haven't tried Scope yet on Android, all I want is the lists tbh, I don't use facebook colums or so. I just want a much better overview of all the people I follow, and I'm currently doing that with lists.

If you want just Twitter lists then Plume is your best bet. It's what I've been using. It works like a dream and allows you to have columns for your lists. It's also got a nice clean modern UI.

[Q] Cannot received beamed iems

Hello, I'm having an issue regarding NFC beam. I tried to use this feature for the first time yesterday. I tried to transfer a few different items between my EVO 4G LTE ( stock w Jellybean) and a Samsung Galaxy S III. they seem to connect and my phone shows the progress of the file transfer go to 100% but then says "beam did not complete". The galaxy S can receive and save files fine from my phone. Is there anything i can do to fix this? or s this a known issue?
Any help appreciated, thx,
I believe Samsung uses S Beam to send media, which the Evo does not have. I think the Evo uses Android beam to send contacts, web links, youtube links etc. Thats about all you can send.
Brand new feature! But not much functionality with this phone...
It works well with wallet, NFC tags, and YouTube links. But I'd like to be able to use it for pictures, videos, and apps, etc...

You can do all that, but only between 2 HTC phones. Like the other post said, Samsung can't send it to you but you can send to them.
