yes most prob wav not used cm9 myself but on most sammy ones it ogg but anyways try this navigate to system/etc using root explorer make sure its set to RW then copy/move/paste file into location then change owner to root/root and set permissions to RW-R-R .
hopefully this will work for you if not trying renaming file to ogg

Root explorer as in the one thats $3.99 at the playstore??

You can't just rename the file from wav to ogg. They are different file formats. You need to convert it.

Depends. Apparently it should be wav for GB, ogg for ICS.

well I'm using resurrection ICS remix 2.0 if that helps.
and waiting for the root explorer reply.

So... Given the name of the ROM, surely you can determine if it's GB or ICS... Yes?
You can use any file explorer that gives root access. Root Explorer is just one of them. ES File Explorer is another.
However, I don't think Resurrection Remix supports boot sounds at all, but I'm not positive about that. Someone who uses that ROM will have to answer that.

downloaded a Poweron.ogg as well. and I just figured out the permission management thing and I turned on all the permissions. still no luck. As for the ownership thing that the other poster was talking about. I dont know how to do in es explorer.
anyway, I tried both ogg and wav. maybe you could be right that ICS remix doesnt support boot sounds

[Q] how to change startup/shutdown sounds

Sup all, I have been tring to change my startup/shutdown sounds and I followed some f the other threads but with root explorer when I go into system/etc/poweron.wav but there is no poweron.wav file. I also tried to paste one there but it wouldn't take. I use verizon blackehole 4.3 rom. Any answers anyone? Thanks
/system is mounted as read-only by default. You need to have it mounted as read/write to be able to paste/push files to /system.
how d I mount it as read/write?

in \System\Media\Audio\ui\ replace the file "shutdown.ogg" with your own .ogg sound. If you need a program to convert a sound file to .ogg, there are plenty, but I personally prefer Audacity.

[Q] Witch "Camera mod" to choose?

Hello, this is my first post on XDA
in the "Development" section I've read about a camera mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104051.
It add some good feature to the camera stock app like:
Records Audio in 192kbps/44.1Khz quality (CD Quality) rather than stock (64kbps/16khz quality)
Increased Video Bitrate in 1080 and 720p modes* (See 2nd post for info and download link for this version)
I would to try this hack, but I am confused on witch APK to download and use, the Potatoman and the hyperX-'s release are identical or not?
i believe there is only one mod as of right now. The mod you posted above is based off of the original and does nothing but improve the camera. Safe to say this is THE mod to use my friend!

Thank you!
So I can download the modded APK from here without problems? Is it THE mod?
You can dl it from here or glash one of the fantastic roms that have it included.
Now I am trying to install the camera hack on my phone, I renamed the original Camera.apk in Campera.apk.bak and copied the hacked Camera.apk in /system/app, but when I try to execute it to install, the installation starts but it ends with message "Application not installed", why?
What'is my error?
I use Root Explorer...
You don't have to install it after copying to system/app, just copy, then set permissions correct and reboot..

Thank you, now I try, but witch are the correct permissions?!?
EDIT: I set permissions to rx-r--r-- like the original app, now it seems work!
I recorded a video at 720p with the hacked Camera.apk, I controlled media info with VLC and with Windows Explorer "Property->Details" tab, the value they show are 11880 kbps for the video bitrate and 16 kHz, 60 kbps, mono for audio. I think that there are the value for a video recorded with default app, or not?
Help pleaseee!!!
hey, i am trying to hack my camera too, how do you move the camera.apk to system/app if i have it in my file/download, thanks

Mount the filesystem in R/W mode (read and write), default setting is RO (read only), use the button in the upper side of the screen.
i know this step, i mean, how do you paste the .apk to system/app from the bluetooth folder in my file? because i use bluetooth to transfer the .apk into my phone, but i have no idea how to paste it into root explorer, seems like i can only move it around to those folders in my file. i know i am such a noob, sorry for asking so many silly questions.

You must navigate throught your phone's filesystem with Root Explorer, find the folder where the file Camera.apk is (I think it is /sdcard/bluetooth) copy the file and paste it in /system/app (all operation of copy/move/paste are possible with Root Explorer).
I hope I help you, I'm Italian and I'm not a native speaker of English...
i am not native english speaker either, haha
i am from Hong Kong
i am gonna try it, but i messed it up this afternoon and i had to reset everything on my phone lol because the camera didn't work

[Q] Boot Animation Gone?

I have lost all boot animations. My phone boots up just fine with the static 'Motorola Dual Core' image. My question is, what should be the contents of the /system/media folder that houses the bootanimation.zip? I have tried installing various animations through CWM to no avail. Any ideas?
I am running 4.1.83 with the latest GladiAtrix P-ROM
Thanks!
Correct..
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
Try this one, I know it works, its just a .zip. NO CWM. rename to bootanimation.zip, place in /system/media/, reboot. If that doesn't work there is a problem.

OMG!...........Is that the file I think it is???.............The one which makes your phone explode???...............Nooooooo!.............Don't do it............!
Your /system/media folder should have a bootanimation.zip file as stated, and will have a .ogg or .mp3 file if there is any audio.
What do you have in your /system/media folder now? Is it empty?
When did you notice that you had no boot animation? Was it after flashing a new one?

Ok, using adb I copied the renamed bootanimation.zip that you linked to in the /system/media and it didn't work. I redid the GladiAtrix install too and it didn't work. In my media folder I cleared out a couple of ogg and mp3 files cluttering it up and besides the animation zip I have a folder called Audio with a few subfolders called things like ringtones and ui.
Do I maybe have the permissions set wrong? What should they be?

Those are all correct files/folders I have even replaced/renamed some of the .ogg, and I have an additional folder stored in /system/media/ where I store all my botanims. So even if you have other files/folders there it shouldnt matter.
Have you installed "live logcat" or "live dmesg" or some other kind of bootanimation app.?

No, I don't have any other bootanimation apps or the like. I think I'm about to give up until the next sbf flash I do, probably when GB finally makes its way over.

Permissions should be RW/R/R for bootanimation.zip with no special permissions set.
Same for any audio files that accompany boot animations.

[Q] boot animation wont change

I'm not exactly sure this is in the correct section but here goes... I have downloaded different boot animations, replaced the bootanimation.zip file using file expert, made sure the permissions were the same, but when I restart my phone, i keep getting the same old factory one. Is there an extra step that I'm missing?
I forgot to mention, that I am rooted. I thought it was the file explorer program, to I downloaded root explorer, and when I tried to change the name of the original bootanimation.zip, it says that it cant because the file system is read only. Could it have something to do with my problem?

mount the system as R/W before you do anything in /system. it's at the top of the screen in root explorer.
Thanks, that did it. But now instead of the one I downloaded, all I get is the word "android"
NVM I got it now thanks again
I noticed that after upgrading to lastest OTA that the bootanimation sound doesn't play, even the stock AT&T one. The sound files are present, but they just don't play.
Any suggestions?

yes, but it will be played only if mentioned so in the desc.txt inside the bootanimation.zip at /system/media/
it is unnecessarily complicated now by changing the location to the new one while the config file resides in bootanimation.zip which originally remains at the same old place.

Boot animation of resurrection remix ics pro v1.1

I just changed my boot animation, but I lose the original boot animation of resurrection remix ics pro, so someone else can upload the original one for me?Thank you very much!

You can extract it from the 1.1 zip file if you want it back.
/system/media/bootanimation.zip

Just as Alta1r said... but remember to backup the current one you have (rename to bootanimationback.zip or whatever) before you put in a new one... because it will overwrite it if has same name "bootanimation.zip".

I also want to change my boot animation back to the stock sgs2, I tried putting the qmg files in system/media and removing the boot animation.unicorn file, but that didn't work. did you do it manually? Or does anyone know how to on this rom?
you need to push the zip file "bootanimation.zip" into /system/media.
You need to do it with some file explorer like 'Root Explorer' when you are on /system remember set the press the button R/W on the top to give the permissions for writing on this folder
Yep, done all that, but unfortunately the rom doesn't read the stock .qmg files so ended up making a bootanimation.zip from scratch. Now just to get the audio running... I have the PowerOn.ogg file, does anyone know where to put it? Doesn't seem to work in usual system/etc folder

I've successfully changed the bootanimation back to the original stock one by replacing the zip file into system/media, but even i put the Power on.wav into the system/etc, still i've got no sound ...
How can i solve it?!
(Using remix pro 1.1)
Thanks!
Same issue only with v1.4
I have resurrection remix ICS 1.4 and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the audio working for my boot animations. It seems there may be plenty of others who would like an answer to this question. Getting bootanimations to work is no problem but the audio seems to be a mystery.

Try either PowerOn.ogg/wav/mp3 or Android_audio.ogg/wav/mp3 and see how you go.

my guess would be a particular app, probably an mp3 downloader or something that has adds. take a look at the clippings and see if you recognize them from somewhere. find out what app is doing it and shut it down (clear data and force close) in applications manager, and delete the pics. or just delete the app/ find a similar one or pay for the add free version if there is one and see how you go
