if Sony don't show the global hayabusa before this launches I might just bite.
How can I visit those press releases at the costs of Sony? The Hawaii style was made for me
Phones looks great.
You have to work for a Russian tech website
you should add one "sticking with xperia s"
Any news about RELEASE DATES ?
It's a shame the Acro S runs on the S3, not on an S4.
@SonyXperiaRu: acro S launches with ICS, Q3 2012, Xperia go launches with GB, Q3 2012. Both have wet finger tracking tech
size and weight just like htc sensation
But durable and big battery. need know what is cpu. If s3, then i take xperia P. somting smoler and butafull.
If s4, then realy bee good battery life in perfomance and nice styl.
I wonder why the Go isn't launching with ICS?
Hmm anyways, they don't look bad, the Go resembles the Sola a bit. I guess this officially means that the light bar is gone, oh well, life goes on . It might be that the Xperia logo lights up, I can't tell by that video though...
I don't know what to think about the Acro S, they seem to have kept sort-of the S form, but it looks a bit block-like. It's nice they are going down the water-resistant path for both of them, that can be a handy feature.
I still think the S looks better, and the Acro appears to just be a water-resistant S4 (I would assume?) version. Now we just need leaks/hints for the 2013 phones I'm curious how they will look.
and to the OP: you forgot "Happy with S/U/P/Sola" as an option .
its an Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon (S3 chipset)
its not much of an upgrade compared to XS.

hey, just wondering.
What if your XS got stuck in the middle of something.
Because the battery is embedded, how to hard reset it?
is it just push the power button or what?
I have a plan on buying this acro s, so you can give me a hand on this.

Just click on both the power button and the Volume UP button for 10 seconds.
It's like removing and reinserting the battery

lol i only needed to replace my XS once due to the yellow tint. I've been using the second XS for over a month now.
both 1st and 2nd XS i had no software issues. some are experiencing with auto restarts and stuff i had none. so my chances of that and battery issue isnt going to happen.
i got to be serious with you. best looking phone that attracts my eyes is still the ARC S. The XS does definitely looks better than GX and Arco. (just my own opinion) the transparent LED stripe really does add something special to the phone.
and tbh if youre going to wait for the acro then i rather you wait for the GX its probably going to be announced by the time you order your acro
thanks OS4.
Now I can live in peace.
Waiting for acro s and hayabusa.
Both are awesome.
@litoni : yeah, I had one arc s.
It's simply awesome.
But I think I want some upgrade.
imo, even acro s and hayabusa are going to be on the market at the same time, the prices must be much different one and the other.
if in case, hayabusa costs $700, and acro s costs $600.
better than nothing, I'll take acro s instead.
thanks btw for the long explanation man.
Interestingly enough, the acro S's model number is LT26w

Looks like the Galaxy is better in every detail:
Better screen
Better performance
Slimmer
Only the camera should be better on the SE Arc
Question: how much better the camera is and how many people will decide on this point alone to choose the arc?
Another point is will the Galaxy sell higher price?
Thanks
why is arc's camera better?

Because of the Exmor sensor presumably.
i didn't know about that. arc can't record in 1080p though.
anyway if the sgs2 has a better camera than the i8910 then i'll be more than happy with it
The Arc's low light picture taking is really good and the screen is powered by the Sony TV Bravia engine. Other than that though, both companies are pretty bad at updates and everything else you said about the SGS2 is probably right.
The current SGS is a very cable night shooter, helped by it's very low 2.4 f-stop.
I can't see Samsung doing away with this but only improving on the sensor for the SGS2.... especially as Samsung which develop and manufacture very good digital cameras ~ they have to continually improve and be seen to in this area.
Personally, being an avid amateur photographer with many digital cameras of varying types and sizes I am looking forward to using the camera on the SGS2.

Give it 5 years and the smartphone will replace damn near every device in your house.
The photos taken on the prototype one seem pretty good, i'm particularly impressed by the last 2 which are taken at night outdoor. Hope the camera will be even better when the phone is officially released.

The camera on Nokia N8 is actually as good as a mid-range digital camera.. too bad its on symbian
Not a chance, I can put up with TouchWiz to an extent, but Timescape is absolutely awful. If people choose the Arc over the GS2 just because of a "slightly" better camera, they need shooting!!

Not at all. I'd have to carry an awkward cable around. I normally don't have a backpack or man-purse. My 2 USB sticks just hang out on my key ring.
I would never consider my phone an adequate replacement.

I want to buy a new phone, I was thinking abt getn XS, but wen I saw XP, I was surprised by its look, its awesome design and looks like a polished product.
I want to know opinion of other XS, XP users......
Well in terms of power and storage the obvious answer is no.
Looks wise the P might just have the edge with the aluminum body. Not that much difference in size between the two either but I haven't played with one yet I have just seen a couple of comparison videos.
Cannot comment on the WhiteMagic screen either as I haven't seen a physical device yet. What I can say is the screen on the S is fantastic and makes you feel all warm inside when looking at it.

In my opinion,
S is better hardware wise no.
Design , I personally prefer P. Mainly because of the aluminium body looks and feels more premium and no USB flap. I know many say that the flap isn't that fragile but I just feels so
If you prefer better hardware, go for S, else otherwise.
How I wish S in aluminium + colour changing strip

EDIT: Charger is the EP850
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Think I have under estimated the Xperia P somewhat.
I have been playing with the black version for around 3 hours now and its a little pocket rocket. The design and feel is very satisfying, feels premium. The screen is fantastic, very bright, crisp and clear. Had a test in the sun and set screen brightness to automatic (yes it has automatic or manual control, as well as a power saver option) all text and colours are still very easy to see. You now press the icons on the transparent bar for home, back and settings, back button does not suffer like the S, one tap and responds. I have removed the widgets on the home screens and set basic stuff up that I use and have no lag whilst switching screens, app tray opens almost instantly, apps open in very good time, installing apps seems faster than on my S. In the box is the EP850 fast charger.
This is just a very quick analysis so far and will add more as and when I find more interesting bits. Needless to say I am very tempted to sell my Xperia S and use the P as my daily driver.
EDIT: After using this device for over a day I can truly say it is outstanding. To the point that my Xperia S is being sold and this is now my main device
The Xperia P comes with more notification and ringtones so I have zipped them.

I think Xperia S is the better choice than xperia p
Devices:The One and only!!!
Xperia S
Xperia s
Xperia S would be a better phone.
depends what you looking for..
For me camera and big storage is first thing in my mind, loved satio 12mpx, and wanted android with 12mpx (arc previously)...
Also big screen is one of the required stuff...but i really want aluminium body...
So in the end i say for me that xperia s is better phone

game ? how many time you can play a strong game on phone ? 3, 4 or 5 hours ? and what game dual core can't play on phone ?
I think Sony know what to do ....
Xperia acro s
12MP camera and much faster, i think you should get the acro s.

Arco S is just too Awesome......!
and no more GLONASS support in xperia go anymore, so I think I stay with my active
Sprinter
Water and dust resistance
The Xperia acro S has only P55 and IP57 ratings for dust/water resistance.
However Go and Active have IP67. That's quite important.
What means IP67?
6=Dust tight. No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact.
7=Immersion up to 1 m. Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion).
but IP 57
5=Dust protected Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact.
So how come - if "Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented" how it's submergeble?
Dust can come thru the joints, but water not?
So I'm happy with my Active!

They are both IP67 certified. Or at least that's what GSMarena says.
The only thing that baffles me is the fact that they dont use Dragontail glass. Even though I always use screen protectors it's nice to know the glass wont break that easily...
Although the Active seems somewhat small for my big hands, i dont think i could live without the strap it has. It's just priceless.
I would not go for the Go though... the 512mb of RAM seem restricting somehow...
Only the xeperia go is IP67 certified but it is not only missing the Dragontail glass but also the GLONASS receiver. And still the same small resolution and only 512MB Ram. So this doesn't look like a successor to the active for me...
acro s looks much better to me, but I am afraid it is too big and I don't no if it resist 2h of biking through the rain (and if it will be available in Germany)

The Z4 Ultra will reportedly be adorned with a 5.9-inch Triluminos display. It will also carry the Snapdragon 805 chipset and 4GB of RAM , the camera will be 16MP with dual LED flash. It is expected to measure a significantly thin 5.7mm.
http://www.arabianbusiness.com/leaked-sony-xperia-z4-z4-ultra-specs-573033.html
i hope they don't make the screen smaller than 6.4
waiting for the fantastic z4 ultra
if the z4 ultra picture it this i will full in love with it
Quite confident that image is inauthentic. I don't think Sony will suddenly go from the biggest bezels in the industry (aside from iPhone and HTC) to having a higher screen to body ratio than any other phone in existence, particularly since they didn't even lessen the bezels on the behemoth Z Ultra.
I'm sorry but that looks fake as. Looks like some keen fan's concept sketch.
It was 100% fake
That was just a mockup by other ppl & it won't be 5.9" & not to be so thin.
I agree. And I don't think they reduce the number of icons on the homescreens from 6 to 4, that doesn't make sense. Complete fake.
Although fake it looks awesome, imagine the Z4 Ultra actually having bezels so thin.
Early next month we'll get the full information and specification for the Z4 & Z4 Ultra anyway.
Be patient guys.
As much as I'd LOVE to see the Z4 Ultra look that awesome, I don't see it happening either. Plus, the rumors I've heard are that the screen is supposed to be 6.2" 2K display with a S810 SOC with 4gb of RAM. This is the first time I've heard anything about a 5.9" with a S805. I'll be VERY disappointed if those specs are true.
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk
that looks freakin terrific and im sold for a 5.9in screen now
this is so fake
sony with thin bezels? I don't think so
if it was real it would be too small anyway. would feel like a downgrade to me
hahaha just we need to dream i will call sony to make my ultra 4 like that
Sony would never make the logo to be so small so that's definitely fake. According to various sources it all points to 6.4 inch instead of 5.9

Came across this today, interesting to say the least. Sony better not make the display smaller... I'd love a 6'5"/7" screen with way smaller bezels. I fear they're gonna go with a 6" model instead and make the bezels lame again.

I'm deciding between these 2 tablets at the moment and that display on the Galaxy is really attracting but I can't stand exynos SOCs, I had a note 3 with one and it was horrible. And even if I bought the snapdragon version it's still an ancient 800.
How is this tablet? Any flaws? Can it really handle water? I've heard a lot of bad stories with the z3 phone dieing after going underwater.
And most importantly, can you flash cm on it?

i had tab s and this tablet. and i love this this tablet more than tab s.and is the longest i have gone without root or cm.
its lighter, faster and more responsive on stock rom compared the tab s.
more importantly, root for this baby was recently acheived without losing warranty, that keans cm goodness and all.
samdung's tab s 8inch is using exynos with another chip for lte.lack of cm roms as well as losing warranty thanks to knox.
i recomend getting this baby as the only thing u miss will be the screen but the rest of the goodies more than makes up for it!
I had the same shortlist - but my main priority was battery life and much googling suggested that whilst the TabS has good battery life, the Z3 is much better. This appears to be true - I finally charged my Z3 today - 11 days after the last charge!
After handling both Z3 and Tab S instore, I decided to go with the Z3.
I did prefer the screen on the Tab S - much more vibrant colours etc - but the Z3 screen is plenty good in itself.
Also, I preferred the look of the Black Z3 over the white and bronze Tab S.
Finally, I have the Z1 Compact phone and like the magnetic charge port etc.
So, mostly the battery life - but the above points made the Z3 my 1st choice.
Hello,
I had the galaxy tab S 8.4 for around 2 months, then mooved to the Xperia. Some elements to consider:
- The S 8.4 has a slighty bigger screen and also... physical back and home button (thus no need for virtual buttons taking screen place)
- The S 8.4 has better accessories in my opinion (the physical keyboard / case which is fantastic, I would love to see one like that for the Z3 compact)
- The S 8.4 has thinner screen border
Also:
- I had some problems with the 4G/LTE with my tab S... Now everything is ok with my Xperia (that's the main reason why I changed device)
For me battery life is great on both devices (maybe better on the Z3).
So I bought the tab s and tested it for 1 week, the performance is a joke. I wasn't aware that its using the same CPU as the exynos galaxy note 3. I have the note with snapdragon 800 and its flying, I can't believe they put such weak hardware in such a "high end" device. The screen was indeed very nice, but that huge resolution needs better hardware to handle it. Running GTA San Andreas at max settings was a pain, while my note 3 does pretty well at it.
I ordered this tablet and its arriving tomorrow. Will come back with impressions. But so far, I really think this will be better then the galaxy.
I used Tab S for a week or so, before I detected a hardware issue. I immediately returned it. But in that one week, I made up my mind to never ever buy a Samsung device. I purchased the xperia z3tc last week and have been aggresively using it since.
I am completely amazed by the lack of bloatware in this device. It has just the right amount Sony added features and apps which you can find useful or completely ignore. There are no unnecessary modifications to the Android as a platform which you can find annoying. The performance is very consistent. I have a Nexus 4 as my primary phone and enjoy the stock android experience. Although there is a Sony skin on xperia it does a good job of being non-interruptive. I just dont feel the compulsive need to root this device, because it fulfills my needs the way it is.
In short, Samsung's modification to Android make it unusable; stay away from it!
Is your Z3 much easier to read in the sunlight than your Tab S's were? I can use the Tab S in the direct sunlight but it is not really a comfortable experience. Some reviews say the Z3 is better. Have you found that to be true? Thanks!
This tablet is way better then the tab s, way better. Display is probably the only thing better on the galaxy, but the sony one is very good too. Build quality, battery life and especially performance, is miles ahead on the xperia.
The only problem with this device is that it's very confusing to root. I still haven't found a tutorial to backup the drm keys to be able to unlock the bootloader and flash twrp.
Its very annoying.
I rooted the tab s in 10 minutes, and already was running cm12 after an hour I owned it. The community on those forums is much larger and its a shame people dont realize how much better the sony product is.
A small demonstration of the battery performance:

Almost 4 hours of screen on time and still half of battery left. Considering that the capacity isn't very big I think this is pretty good. The tab s barely made it through 5h screen time on my usage. And I still haven't hactivated stamina mode yet.

Can I ask what version of Z3 tablet you are using? My battery life is far less stellar than this, without any games or other demanding usage. I'm on the SGP611 (16gb, no LTE ).
Thanks in advance
