Anyone actually HAVE the SSG3 in Blue in their hands?? Some photos make it look blue, while many other photos look more of a Purple. I'm curious for a better description of the actual color. Please and thanks.
After handling one of each today at work (a white one and a blue one), I'd probably say that the blue one looks... charcoal than anything else. Really dark grey with a tinge of blue. It DOES look nice though. Nice enough for me to wait for it over getting instant tech gratification from a white one!

Grey? Wasn't expecting that. It's really hard to tell, so many pictures all look different. I kind of reminds me of the blue and purple of Adam West's Bat Cowl in the old 60s tv show lol.. but that's in photos, which is why I'd like to hear from those who have actually seen it.

It surprised me a bit too, I was expecting a definite blue hue! The "pebble look" is really quite nice though. I'm glad I took the time at lunch time to go and have a look in person when the Samsung reps turned up. It made me realise that I would be more than happy waiting for that one over the white one. I'm certainly not bashing the white one though. Its nowhere near as cheap looking as I'd thought it would be. I just prefer black (or charcoaly blue-grey!).

Neither will I However I think the listing could well be a mistake colour-wise. When I was looking at pre-orders, there were a couple of places that had white or black listed as colour options, but later corrected to white or blue. I think the blue should be dark enough in real life to pass as nearly black anyway.

Probably the crappy US Carrier versions.
Eldar Murtazin told me on twitter that the black version will be available for Christmas. Well, i want it so much, but i'm not going to wait :|
I have always had a black phone so ive decided this time it's gonan be different,i want the marble white SGS3 but the blue one looks really nice as well i just cant make up my mind.
Seems immeasurably stupid not to include a black version at launch. It harks back to the days of kids running around with bright red Nokia Xpress-on covers and potentially alienates a large portion of the market who want a sleek, back, professional looking phone - not a teenager's fashion accessory.
The inclusion of things like S-Voice are the kinds of things that look great in a shop but you end up never using in practice. For the same reason it boggles the mind why Samsung didn't give the option of a black version; part of the reason AMOLED screens look so impressive is the near seamless transition between black on-screen and a black bezel, made possible by AMOLED's superior contrast.
I had a very reaction when i saw the white and blue versions at the presentation. I hate white phones and thought the blue looked horribly cheap. Ive now seen a blue one in the flesh and its nothing like as bad as i feared. Its actually quite smart looking.
Many of the images of it make it look a lot lighter than it actually is. The front looks black in most lights an the pattern on the back is almost like metal.
I would still prefer a black phone though.
its the blue one!
Is this the Samsung galaxy s3 in black ?? Or is it just poor lightning condition ??

It's the blue one (which is i think nearly black really and what I am hoping when mine turns up! ) Lighting makes a huge difference as well as correct white balance and the screen you're using to look at things (unless properly calibrated). You can bet the advertising shots were lit in a way that really emphasised the blue. In the video you can clearly see a blue tint when he moves the phone around and it catches the light

Its more on the Grayish Base !!! couldnt find a little bit of the blue tinge normally available !! ANd mind you its quite a well LIT ROOM !!! I have seen the Pebble blue in a far more darker room and could easily make out the Color

Look again at around 2min30... You clearly see the "fine lines" they are, just like the blue hue, more or less visible depending on how the light falls. Would be great if one of the German speakers on the forum could translate the gist of it

Hi guys, I really like the z2 in purple. But does anyone think this colour is aimed more for females?.
32 male.
Purple is statistically the most popular colour within males. Get the purple one.
Purple one looks more sparkly on the back due to its metalic finish
I like my Black Z2 im a metalic black, suits and ties kinda guy who drives a forein car to a forein pub to drink a forein beer but thats just taste, and that last 2 lines are lies
Purple= most attention
Black= meh
White= attention
Metalic sparkle visibility
Purple= metalic sparkle easier to see
Black = only in daylight
White = can be seen from time to time but looks just awesome in white

Not really, i saw a guy buy a purple one once and i just stared at him. not because its a feminine colour but because its an unusual one. Some cultures might not agree in which case then you're making a statement. Sticking out.
More flash, attracts attention, can you carry it off. how do you look with it taking a call.
attracting attention is all well and good so long as you got the latest & greatest. How long you want to hold onto the unit. Do you still want that attention after two years assuming you hold on to the device that long or longer.
White is in the same boat but to a less extent as its more common than purple. White hides fingerprints better.
Black is the most discrete and fingerprint magnet.
In the end a case will hide whatever colour but if you are thinking of a unique colour chances are you don't want a case to begin with.
Thanks for your feedback guys. All I can say if I get the purple one I will receive banter from my mates.
See, it all depends if you insist on carrying it naked. Feels good but then its the same all the time. You could add something like this which only works with black & purple.
If not, then black with any colour case of your choosing means more options. The more important thing is the bezel colour and fortunately sony has always gone with black bezels, these are the easiest to mix with case colour. Think lumias. White bezels restrict that choice somewhat.
before you decide check out all types of cases as this might influence which colour you go for.
Beware of staining. Purple probably wouldn't be too bad but I bought a white one originally and returned it within 2 days because it was stained from being in my pocket. I believe purple may slightly discolor also but not as bad.

I bought purple and love it, it's not the shocking colour in the press shots, it's actually more subtle.

I think white looks the best with this design (especially from the front angles, striking) but the back is a little too noticeable.
Put it this way there are times and places where i want that attention and others where i do not.
Purple is striking because of the colour (unusual) but does not compliment the design as well as white.
I have purple, and a friend of mine has black. I'm more than happy with my choice, after comparing the two
Hy. Yesturday i went to see live note 7 blue coral. Samsung has choose very interesting combinations of colours that change acording to light and ungles. Blue coral is not the same in reality like in photos and youtube. Many people, specialy man in my country hate it at first view. What you think after seiing live the colors. I like it and i think they are very original and stylish.

I was debating between blue or black and at the end black won just because of how crazy is the blue color. I din't have a chance to see a demo unit (available only on SEP16 where I live and I will have the phone on SEP2) but looking Youtube, reviews it look white blue or rich blue depending on the lighting. I like the rich blue but white blue with low light conditions was not for me, the trim also could be sliver or maybe even black with a little bit darker blue phone. So this time i say no to blue coral
It looks really good in real life but I am on doubt if it's not feminine especially with that golden border. If it has silver border I would say it's the best color even that Onyx Black is very sleek and beautiful - just not so special. So I am on doubt what color to choose but definitely not the silver one (I don't like shining silver phones at all)...
I like it but went with black

I found it underwhelming in real life when I played around with a demo unit. It looked far better on film in various Youtube videos.
The biggest reason to get it is because it says "look at my new phone" as there's no other phone (currently) on the market like it. Bit it's kind of like the massive demand for the gold iPhone when it first came out. Everyone wanted the color for the previous reason. Six months from now Blue Corral won't be special anymore and then it'll just be a blueish phone with pinkish trim. I use my phone for business and the only color that doesn't scream "look at me" was black.
Meh. I wasn't impressed. It looked a bit too feminine for my tastes, but if that's your thing then more power to you. I love that the metal rim on the onyx version is actually black now. It makes the phone look sleek and simple. Plus, I also use my phone for business so the black was the best (read: only) option. Not that I'm complaining, it's sexy af in black.
It's Dope ...
Usually have black devices. But got the bronze 10.1 tab on impulse: it still looks good. The iPhones that mimicked it have a pallid 9ct gold effect that doesn't look so good. So I'm going for the blue this time, reckoning that Sammy has got it right this time too. If it's too bright, it can be toned down with a black case, but I suspect the Note 7 will be classy enough to carry the colour...
I had mine outside in the direct sunlight today for the first time (got it last night) and the metal frame looks pink...I knew the blue was feminine-ish, but the pink tint on the frame DEFINITELY tops off the feminine look IMO.
Anyone wanna trade their black one for a blue one? LOL.

I first ordered titinium silver as I've always liked the color since the s7 came out but did not want the s7. My note 2, 3, 4 were all black (note 2 was really dark grey) so for sure I didn't want black. Just so I don't dismiss the blue completely, I still went to a Tmobile store to check out the blue. There was a lot of light in the store and made the blue look baby blue and I did not like it. So I told myself, blue was not for me and left. I went home and watched several more unpacked reviews and the ones showing the blue made the phone look really good depending on the lighting, and wasn't always baby blue. So after several more videos I watched of the blue, I decided to also order it. Figure if I have more time with it I'll have a better non rushed judgement on it.
Once I received both phones, I opened the blue first and fell in love with it right away. The blue inside my office is nice. I like how it switches to different hue's of blue. Now the rose gold trim does put me off a little but in my clear case it doesn't stand out as much. But it's not ugly either, just felt too feminine.
A day later I opened the titanium one. I still like the titanium, BUT compared to the blue, I now found it boring. To be fair, I gave it a few more days and played with both phones but blue being my daily. In most places I go, unless I'm outside, the blue stays pretty dark or at least not baby blue. Unless I'm in direct sunlight. Sometimes it looks bluish dark grey (which I love). I just love the different variation of blue it produces (besides baby blue obviously). The titanium does get slightly darker but it always looked bright silver in most scenarios and does reflect more light. So in the end, chose the blue.
So my thoughts....I think had I not had a chance to play with it for at least a few days in my own environment, I wouldn't have chosen it. If you are considering the blue don't judge it based on pictures, or seeing it for a few minutes, or even what others think of the color. Your best bet if you are undecided is to take it home and try it out for a few days yourself. That goes for any of the colors, not just blue.
I had the chance to see all the colors in person and I gotta tell you, they're not properly represented by pictures and renders.
First of all, the "not pink" is really very pink. It's just a lie to say it's not pink. And it's not even an attractive shade of pink. It's a faded pink that looks almost like a dingy white.
Speaking of white, I usually pass on this color, but this white is super crisp. It has a very high quality look and feel to it. Plus, it partially wraps around to the front of the device, giving it a bit of a two tone look from the front that helps it stand out from all the other white phones.
Finally, the black. Well, here's where I was a bit disappointed. I assumed the frosted glass area was the same shade of gray like the pixel 2, but it really has more of a brownish, charcoal look to it. It's very hard to describe, but it looks like a cheap sticker and is quite ugly in person. If you hold it off axis, then the light can make it look a little more gray again, but when viewed directly, it's like a dingy gray that needs to be polished or have its moisture restored like the trim of a car.
Anyway, just thought I would share for those of you who might be in the fence about the colors. I pre-ordered the black, and regret my decision, but since I will be using a skin on it, it's not worth changing.
