TFP - Gmail crashes in vertical in .21 - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I have recently found that when I access the Gmail app on my TFP it crashes if I have the screen in vertical mode. It appears to function just fine most of the time in horizontal mode. Is anyone else experiencing similar wacky crashes of Gmail?

Same problem
I have the same issue. I hadn't specifically linked it to vertical orientation before, but that totally makes sense now.

I have noticed this seems to only happen when the TFP has been on for a while and it is not just Gmail, but also the stock music app... I wonder if this happens in many other apps.

WatchESPN on SGT? Screen SMALL

Anyone know? This sucks!
Did you change the UA to desktop? Steps on doing it are I the forums but type about:debug in the browser and then go into settings>debug>UA String.

The app itself is full screen but only video isn't stretched.

[Q] Anybody notice that their google Maps app randomly appears on recent app soft key

this is pissing me off, i don't even open the maps app and it's shown to be open on recent apps. why does it do this???

This is also happening to me on my Verizon GNexus. I think it may be a ICS bug.
No matter what when I go into Apps & running apps Maps is always shown & can't be killed. Kill it & it starts back up.
Given our ****ty GPS this is very ironic in a way.
Within fifteen seconds of a completed reboot Google Maps always shows up for me. Without fail and without going into any other applications. Just wait 15 seconds and there it is.
Do you have location services enabled on you're browser? Might be a suggestion.

I agree. If your prime has location services on in any app that will trigger maps to run. Especially when you reboot...that lil bastard wants to know where its at and uses maps to find out.

[Solved] Launcher errors

Anyone else having launcher errors where it goes blank?
Attached screenshot

Ok, so i know i'm not the only one with this issue on the prime, seen several posts in the reviews of Nova, Apex, and Go HD, so i thought i'd update the thread for future searches... I think i have found the cause of the blank launcher. It would seem that 3 widgets were the problem for me... exchange email, Gmail, and calendar widgets. Since removing these 3 widgets and clearing the cache of the launcher i no longer receive the blank screen of piss me off.
I don't know why this tablet has a problem with these widgets, but it does, my ics phone uses them no problem, so idk....

"Transformer Services" - Is this new in jelly bean?

I was playing around in the Settings/About Tablet screen and found that if you tap on 'Camera version', 'Touch panel version', or 'Pad EC version' 6 times quickly, a 'Transformer Services' screen come up where it looks like you can manually update any of those 3 items.

Good find... What the hell does it do? lol
Probably allows you to update the EC, camera and touch firmware without using OTA packages... probably only useful for the technicians who have access to the standalone files
Actualy noticed this also.

Here is short comparison from AndroidPolice: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...sion-4-2-16-with-brand-new-ui-for-10-tablets/
I'm gonna try it as soon as I get home to my tablet.

Loaded it up last night. The good news is, the Transformer dock keyboard now works in the search field even when you're not on the home screen! Also, the video window is larger. Overall, it's a good change.
i think im going to pass on this update as long as i can. i love the dark theme of the old version, the white is too hard on the eyes.
The new version has its good points, we can now actually delete videos from play lists and it seems to be a little bit faster however everything looks huge and oversized like its been designed for kids. There is also no full screen button so you have to watch a boxed video, although it is a slightly larger video box than the previous version.
I tried it and hated it and have gone back to the old version. It just looks nicer overall and has a full screen mode.

Same here, together with the new UI layout on the Nexus 10 I am starting to worry. Who knows what the next version will bring. Only time will tell.

For me it's just like the desktop update, ugly and counterintuitive. Everything takes much more time to do and find now, I'm reverting to theold look
The fullscreen button is there, but it's bugged. If you rotate tablet you will see it (into portrait mode), and sometimes it becomes visible in landscape mode. Sometimes...
I also think that old one was better. First it was blackish which was much better, comments were on better position - now you have to have collapsed description and related videos and all buttons are ridiculously big => bigger controls, less content.
Thankfully I was able to revert to old version

Seems full screen button disappears as soon as you place your tab in the dock, take it back out and it appears again.
