Is there any MOD for enhancing sound for XPS, I am missing the bass effect with the headphones.
It would be great if someone developed a MOD with SRS.
I don't think XS need any sound MOD cause it have a great sound and specially the bass.maybe you need to change your headphones.

use equalizer setting in stock music player!!!!
Same as comments above. You may try stock music player or poweramp. Both of them have equalizer

I have installed Beats audio recently using CWM but i did not like it so i restored the original audio. The sound quality was held back not to cause distortion and on expensive devices such as Bose and Beats it sounded cheap with low bass. Now i use PowerAMP with stock audio engine SGSII which is quite awesome with the EQ tweaks.
What are your thoughts of Beats Audio?

Placebo.
jje
Also it is not legal to put Beats Audio on any device as HTC wanted XDA to remove it as it would be property theft.

Beats audio works well with high end headphones like the ones sold by beats....well it should play well on expensive devices like Bose....but after all its just a port...beats audio was never designed for devices other than htc so it might cause some problems...or may be less good than the original beats audio found on htc phones
remove beats audio

Hi,
I just switched to stock rom ( cause unstability sux ) and I really often listen to music. While I was using CM7 sound was better, not louder but bass was just better. When I played music on stock rom I realised that music plays more quite and doesn't have this bass punch, even Beats Port doesn't make sound as good as on CM7. Is it possible to have sound as great as on CM7?
Hmm. Try a 3rd party music player,

CM7 has additional libs for dspmanager a.k.a equalizer
Ace-ing all tests.

Better sound ? That's a matter of opinion. Beats Audio - For people whose ears can't tell the difference between a 30kbpsMP3 and a CD.

Exactly. My $300 Beats sound 10% better than my $15 Sony earphones
Want good sound? Get Bose or Sennheiser

Yes It will make it better and it will improve the sound of your BEATS not speaker but you can customize it using the appropriate app
You Can Also Use This:

so there is no mod WITH notification? and are these also working with non-beats headphones?
Hi guys this thread was originally because I was looking for suggestions for alternative music apps to try that fitted with these prerequisites:-
Free (don't mind trial as long as features testable)
Integrate with system sound effects
Simple, don't care for lyrics/visualizations
Themes would be nice
I have found Xenoamp available in the market, which even has integrated beats control.
Follow the development thread here

Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Have you tried the Sony Walkman? I find it nice

Apollo (default music player of CM) is pretty decent, worth giving it a try
The word alternative seems to have been missed, thanks for the suggestions but looking for something s bit different.
Apollo. Walkman and poweramp are great, but they are also the ones most other players are trying to be

i have the same prerequisites...a player which uses the system sound effects...i dont want a built in equalizer...i use dsp manager.
google play music, rocket music player(free), ttpod and apollo are some players that can use system effects.
Google play music and apollo integrate with system sound effects seemlessly...while yhe other two also work if the built in equalizer is disabled.

I really like mort but it will only use its internal eq.
Cubed (3) works well with internal eq, but playlists are buggy

PowerAMP or TTPod
MortPlayer FTW !
I find MortPlayer is the best that suits me. The playlist is folder based, much simpler to organize. It's very fast, and importantly the coolest feature is you can skip/rev music/album just by tapping the key on your headset/bluetooth headset, not even touching your phone.
i use powerAMP, even bougth it ^^

If you love your MUSIC
I am a music lover having Yamaha Music System and if you combine ThilianaS Walkman with Music Eq 1.8 it become really treat to ears.
Although PowerAmp is also a good music player having bass-treble with eq control almost at par but you have to loose a decent money for that.:silly:
If you have expensive earphones like Klipsch, Shure, Sennheiser, Denon you surely can go with Thils WM as it has most of the features plus very good sound quality.:good:
Excellent Bass effect with Clear bass+MusicEQ 1.8, good channel separation, less distortion, good surround effect and also has a fancy visualizer :good:
Works on Stock based ICS (not tried on AOKP or CM)
Sony Walkman 4.0 by ThilianaC is the best if you got better please PM.
I tried flashing thilinac walkman mod on cm9.. fail..FC but im not leaving cm9 for this! in love with this rom!
For me, the best audio players are:
*PlayerPro
*Jet Audio Plus
Both have excellent audio, great DSP pack, and folder Navigation.

It does when you use one of the custom kernels. DSP manager doesn't need to have a custom kernel though.

When I open the voodoo sound app it says that my kernel doesn't support extended sound controls. I will try dsp manager.
EDIT: I am using rjs kernel, the only one I can use.

voodoo is only on the 4.0 not the 5.0 you have to tell people which version of the galaxy player you have as that makes a difference.

Just my salt;
The best way to improve the sound output quality is named Jet Audio plus with BBE effects.
No need for added DSP everything available here.
2 configurable BBe DSP and all effects are ajustable. Just enter setting mode and adjust at your taste.
This a port of the well known COWON audio players.
Tested many apps no one is better than this because of its flexibilty.

I tried Jet Audio Plus and for a free app, it's the best alternative to the paid ones. But in all honestly the Equalizer and other settings don't do much for sound quality. I often have problems with distorted and fluctuating even with low EQing. What I found weird was that Jet Audio Plus, made the music sound very low and when I tried to up the volume through the preamp, I got distortion. I switched to PowerAmp (with the same master volume) and it was about 6X louder with the same music and no distortion or fluctuating lol. Also I found that Jet Audio Plus bass wise is pretty weak, even with X-bass turned on (and no I'm not a bass head either). But as I said before great for a free app, but if paying go for poweramp or player pro.
