Since ICS for i9100G is finally here,is it possible to bring roms such as Slim,Foxhound,ParanoidAndroid...etc?
And what about kernels? Or is that a different story?
CM9 is already available for the i9100G users
Thank you

I highly doubt you could flash i9100 ROMs onto a i9100G because of different hardware and specifications.
Follow this guide here in regards to i9100G
Also bpear96 will be releasing RebelROM 1.0.1 AOKP -B37 4.0.4 IMM76I on i9100G so keep looking out for his release after test version.

Yeah I'm following bpear but the test version didn't work.
I know i9100 roms are not compatible ,but I think in porting the developers change something with the hardware code or something
Just like codeworkx ported CM9 in a short time
I posted it here hoping one of the developers would reply, that's why I didn't post in the other thread,I think I'm in the right place anyway

Yes you can flash a majority of the I9100 ROMs on the I777 with the use of Hellraisier. A few exceptions apply such as AOSP based ROMs such as CM7 and MIUI. Also CM9 and ICS based ROMs will not work as of right now.
There is a thread in Development about Hellraiser and a Q&A thread around as well.

my friend and his brother got SGS2 as a gift, sadly one is I9100 and the other I9100G, their father didn't know the variants of the device.
they both want ICS, what is the best for both devices?

i can tell the best ics rom for i9100g but not for i9100 as i dont own one, flash this stock ics rom:http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3
then flash this kernel lp7 kernel through odin you can root too:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679778
currently the best is stock rom only with rooted llp7 kernel
In my opinion the best ics rom for the s2 is resurection remix. It's incredibly fast and optimized, the installation super easy and.. Well it just works!
+ the xda thread is full of very knowledgeable people.

Just try them yourself. A good way to start is to sort the forum by "Stats".

Sorry guys for the thread. I tread several good comments from Dorimanx Kernel. I look the link, but I fell could be a version for I9100 variant, due to that when I installed, had a problem with the touch button on my AT&T Galaxy 2, which operate with 4 buttons instead 3 of I9100 version.
Dorimanx Kernel has designed for only I9100 version or can be use in all the variants???? If is only one version, POlease refer me the link.
Cheers.
I don't know what yer asking exactly. But i9100 kernels can only be used on i9100 devices. So hope that answers your question.

The 2 buttons only problem is a definite sign you've flashed an i9100 kernel that's not fully compatible with the i777. You want to flash an i777 kernel to fix your problem with the buttons. There are at least 2-3 good ones in the i777 development forum.
I've used both Dream Kernel and Siyah. Both have worked great for me and both are compatible with Android 4.0 and 4.1
You cant find dorimax kernel in our dev section, so why the hell does this thread even exist?
Our mods left it up to Team Pirate huh?
I think the Op is asking if anyone know a ported dorimanx kernel for i777 so that his button works. Sounds like he is aware that he flashed an i9100 kernel but now re questing a right ported version just like how dream is ported for i7777. I'm just assuming I could be wrong what he is asking for.

Hello
I have no experience with rooting and ROMs, but i want to learn! I want to try jelly bean on my sgs2 and i am not sure where to start!
What guides and which ROMs would you recommend for a beginner?
Thank you!
first of all you have to be sure what model is your phone, exactly, like i9100 or i9100G or i9100T
then you have to flash a custom kernel that is already rooted, it must be for your phone and current android version. be careful with that or you can brick your phone, read a lot before doing any thing to your phone
then via custom recovery that is included on all custom kernels you can flash any JB rom compatible with your device
there are so much Jb custom roms you can try and see which is best for you
you can start with cm10 that is 4.1.2 jb rom

I have model GT-I9100
Do you know of any good guides that I should read? It is pretty hard to find out which is relevant for me!
When you say CM10, should i install a clean one, or is it wise to get something like JellyBam? Should I expect it to be unstable and problematic?
Hi,
You can find all the information related to custom ROMs to your model here
And regarding Guides for S2, here.

Most importantly, I hope you're aware of the eMMC brickbug. If you haven't, now is as good a time as any to do so. Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28388184
