Set the stage: I'm not a case fanatic. I used my OG Epic naked for almost 2 years. I do like the style of the EVO LTE and don't feel the need to cover it up. However, coming from the junk-in-the-trunk OG Epic, this thing is THIN and LIGHT. I wanted a case just to add a little bulk, make me a little more comfortable that I won't drop my new baby. And if I do, she'll be a little better protected. I'll probably take the case off in 6 months when its no longer my new baby.
The day before we got our nasty blue silicone case, I ordered two online because I couldn't decide.
UPDATE 5/31 I contacted Diztronic regarding the bulge in the Matte Black case, and got a response quickly. Clay from Diztronic has been extremely helpful and dedicated to making me a happy customer. He has sent a replacement, and I will be sure to update this post with an image of the new case. He assures me that a properly molded case should not look like that, so I trust that maybe a few were bad but most fit properly. I would urge anyone with a concern to contact them. I do not work for them, I honestly knew nothing about them before a few days ago, but now I am a loyal customer simply based on the customer service I've received. I will be recommending them to friends!
First, the Diztronic Matte Black (http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=48_66&products_id=259), $9.99
Saw mention of this elsewhere, but there is a bulge/gap below the kickstand that bugs me, and will probably be a dirt magnet:

Two things about this picture. 1) I was surprised to see the (extremely minor) defect near on the seam on the right side. But 2), I was surprised that the top half of my Matte Black case is shiny!!
The cutout of the bottom microphone, while it doesn't actually cover the hole, seems a bit off:
Flimsy section above the volume rockers:
PROs:
Subtle bump around the camera will protect the lens.
Matte doesn't attract fingerprints.
Subjectively good looks.
Cutouts for all buttons prevent sticking.
Good company & support from what I hear
CONs:
Bulge near kickstand (See update!)
Kind of awkward to push the buttons through the cutouts
Flimsy section near volume rockers
Matte black bottom, shiny top? Little strange (subjective).
Little less grippy than the shiny one.
Second, the el cheapo eBay "Candy" (shiny) black TPU case. There are a number, from a number of different sellers at slightly different prices, but I'd guess they're all the same. The one I got is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GLOSSY-BLACK-HARD-GEL-SKIN-CASE-COVER-HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-SPRINT-PHONE-ACCESSORY-/270982902775?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f17d6f3f7#ht_1432wt_1396 ($6.95)
Shiny!
This image is grainy, that's just an artifact of the camera. The case is shiny all over. This one shows the covered-up power button.
Covered-up volume and camera buttons:
PROs:
Covered buttons will provide a little more protection from dust/moisture
Subjectively good looks.
Provides a little more of a rubbery-grippy texture, but doesn't stick to the inside of pockets like silicone.
CONs:
Potential for sticking buttons (Haven't experienced yet)
Two-stage camera button doesn't seem to work
Fingerprint magnet (subject to preference)
As with most things, this is definitely subject to personal preference. I prefer the cheapo shiny one, for a couple reasons. Most of all, I (personally) like the look. I kind of like having to wipe the fingerprint magnet on my pants all the time (really! ). I'm going to use the shiny to start off with. I'll update this thread if I find a reason to switch.
Word to the wise: When removing a TPU case, take it off from the bottom first. Otherwise you will probably inadvertently rip off the top half phone cover for the SD card.
Glad I'm not the only one that had the bulge on the back of the case. I've taken the case off and tried to reposition it over and over again and nothing will fix it.
It bugs me so much that I'm just counting it as a $10 loss and won't be using the case...which is a shame because if it fit properly it would be great.
If mine had that bulge, I'd definitely return it.

Yeah, I'm going to do the same today.
Got my diztronic TPU case yesterday. There is no bulge below or above kickstand that I can see. I am not a fan of the cutouts, as I inadvertently restarted my phone a couple of times trying to press the power button through the cutouts. The volume cutouts aren't smooth either, and I must say, the phone is less comfortable to hold in hands than the free case Sprint sent out with the phone.
I'm having the re-boot problem when using the diz tpu case. I think what causes it is that the case is so tight at the top, it squeezes the back cover into the power button causing it to stick.
I suppose you could notch the back cover a little bit at the button, but I'm not willing to do that for a case.
I have no re-boot issues when using the ugly sprint case, or with no case at all.
Sorry to hear your having problems with our case. The Diztronic case in your picture is either defective or damaged, our cases don't bulge by the kickstand like that. I have received no reports of that at all so it must be an isolated incident. In the future please contact us if there is a problem as Im not checking XDA as often as I used to. The case is indeed only matte on the back, which is why we call them "Matte Back" cases. It's my feeling that the glossy lip matches the front of the phone. We never have customers return defective cases and do our best to address any issues you guys have, so please email me if there is an issue so I can fix it. It's my opinion that our EVO LTE case is our best case to date, it should be 100% perfect and I've yet to receive even one return request at this point. The case should not affect the power button and hasn't on any of the cases I've tested. I've only received one report of that so far. When contacting us please go through the support ticketing system as XDA messages are not checked as often. Thanks guys!

edit: Regarding picture two, all molded TPU cases that I've seen have these, while I don't work in a factory I believe they are known as flash marks from the molding process.

Thanks for your reply, I certainly appreciate that your company has people who frequent these forums. I certainly didn't expect an official corporate response or resolution here, we're just talking amongst ourselves regarding our experiences. I did open a support case this morning and have no doubt I will be treated well.
Thanks again!
ya mine has a bulge as well.
I just got my case in the mail today and here my dislikes. I normally like cases with the cut outs but with this phone I'm not liking it. I'm sure the thinness of the phone has something to do with it. The volume and power button just don't feel good to me. The thin rubber strip that runs along the screen just feels too thin and will eventually stretch. But other then that the case looks and feels good. Overall I might keep a eye out for a similar case but without the cut out. BTW the camera cut out feels and looks good.
I've updated the OP with my experiences with Diztronic support. In a word, they're fantastic. Sent a new case in response to the "bulge" concern and really went out of his way to make sure I am satisfied.
BTW my case had no bulge and fits great. It would be nice if they made 2 version one with the cut outs and the other with the buttons covered.
I have the Translucent Black and I love the cutouts. I have had the Diz TPU with covers on my S4GT and EVO 3D and I ended cutting them out because of the added pressure it took to press the buttons. I have the Platinum/ Seidio and it has covers and it is impossible to take a smooth picture because of the added pressure it takes to press the button. I love the cutouts and the Diz TPU. I don't work for them either. lol I have not had the Mat finish but the Black Translucent freaking rocks! IMO

My Review of the High Gloss Black:
Ok got this TPU case this morning, and tossed it right on...been running around with it all day. Here's a few things I'll point out for you...
1. It fits perfectly- nice and snug. Cutouts are just right. Easy to put on / take off. No "give" doesn't feel like it'll get loose on ya.
2. The volume rocker and camera button are covered with a layer, instead of a cutout. Depends on your preference here...seeing as the Photon has a unique design on these buttons. I'm fine with it, as it is keeping me from toying with the tread on them. Heh.
3. Not overly slick. Easy to put in your pocket / remove. Seems to have enough friction to prevent dropping. Some of these gloss TPU cases are like holding a wet fish, while your hands are covered in baby oil. This one's just fine. (yeah...don't ask about the baby oil please! )
4. Lightweight - doesn't add any real bulk...most TPU cases don't
5. Great packaging - most of these type of TPU cases just come shipped to you in a plastic baggie. This had said plastic baggie, with another layer of protection inside that...plus a cardboard cutout. (it's the little things that impress)
I'll say in summation, that I've had an overall pleasant experience with this TPU case...and the Rep that sent it to me. Seems like decent Customer Service in my interactions. Of course, in all honesty a TPU case doesn't offer as much protection as an OtterBox...but overall it serves it's purpose!

Hey thanks for making this thread! Much appreciated
This could be a helpful thread for me to gather input from you guys on how I can improve our cases in the future. Some of the things I'd like feedback on are the fit (is it tight, are all the cutouts properly aligned?) the volume rocker (is it easy to press? this is one of TPU's weaknesses, the volume rockers can sometimes be difficult) the power button cutout (do you like it? would you rather have it be a molded button like the volume rocker?) any other colors you'd like to see? I usually have more colors then just 2 made for the more popular phones but I only did High Gloss Black and High Gloss Smoke so far for the Photon so I'm open to ideas. Thanks everyone!

Sent from my Motorola Photon 4g
On Youtube I found a review of a TPU case where the guy throws his phone out the window of a moving truck and the case protects the phone well. I'm gonna take their word for it and really have no interest in tossing my Motorola Photon 4G out the window of anything.
When I received the case in the mail on Saturday I quickly tore the package open and put it on my phone its a tight fit and my one complaint is that it when I tried taking it off it fit so well that it pulled the battery cover partially off. Certainly not a big deal and really is more of complaint against the phone rather than the case. If the battery cover on the Photon was not so flimsy it would not matter.
The case ads minimal bulk to the phone and really makes it feel better in your hand. The texture is a high gloss shiny black (I think I would like to see them make a matte black).
There are cutouts for the camera, kickstand, power/sleep button, headphone jack & one for both the HDMI and USB ports. All are aligned perfectly and look good. They have done a good job with the volume and camera rocker, they are not hard to press but does take a little practice to make it smooth. This is a surprisingly nice case and for under $10 you really can't beat it. They are available on Amazon for under $8 plus shipping and available from www.TPU-CASES.com for under $9 with free shipping.
I believe the case for the Motorola Photon 4G from TPU-Cases is an outstanding deal.

Gotta say I do not recommend doing that, haha. TPU cases are not the Otterbox Defender. That person just got lucky, it's possible for a 1 foot drop to cause damage or a 10 foot drop to not cause damage depending on how it lands. If anyone could post some pictures of the smoke case on the phone I would be very grateful.
Just got mine today. I uploaded some "customer images" to the Amazon product page and I will follow up there with my full review in about a day or so. So far everything seems great though!
What other colors would you guys like to see done? Lots of XDA members asked me to do matte cases for the Evo 3D but those arent selling very well, not even a 1/10th as well as the high gloss cases are. So I'm reluctant to do it again, but I would be willing to do a few colors.
Got my case today, and here are my initial impressions:
Fit: Very snug, yet easy to put on. All of the "holes" lined up very nicely, including camera, speaker, hmdi/power, and audio.
One thing to notice right away is that the audio port is not covered up by the thickness of the case. When I got my Hero and a case for it, the case was nice and thick, but it was also very right around the jack. When you tried to insert a headphone 3.5mm plug, some of the plugs, especially on over the ear headphones, have a big thick base. Well on the Hero, I could not "sit" the plug all the way in. This case does NOT have this problem. The access/opening is wider than the 3.5mm receptacle and is beveled. Very nice touch.
On the left side the HMDI and power are obvious open (see the pictures below), but the volume rocker and picture button are covered. I'm not a big fan of this, but it does not hamper use of the phone, it is a preference.
The case has a nice shiny gloss to it and looks sharp. I don't know how this gloss look with stand up over time and I might have opted for a mat finish if it were available. I'd also like to see a red color in the mat, as that is my favorite color, but once again, that is preference.
For $7.90 on Amazon, it's a great value and you really can't go wrong with this case.

TPU-Case
After my vacation I arrived home to find me TPU Case waiting on me. Put it on a first impression is its a great skin case. It wont provide much protection if you drop it but most cases wont unless you get an otterbox. All the holes line up perfect and it is easy to get in out of pocket. Unlike most skins where its tacky like texture to provide better grip but makes getting in and out of pocket hard. This texture is a perfect balance. All and all its well worth the few dollars that this case cost. I would however like to see the power button to be covered like the volume buttons are.
Got mine today and I really like it. As long as I didn't drop it on the face I think it provides plenty of protection and it's still thin enough for me. Still good for getting in and out of the pocket too.

I received my TPU case yesterday and after a day with it I pretty much have the same opinions as everyone stated. It is a very nice case for such a low cost. I think I have a fan of have the volume and camera keys uncovered but to each his/her own though I do think they should all be covered (including the power button) or none at all to keep them uniform. Oh it does not work with the HD dock unless you remove the insert though I have not tested it without the insert to confirm. It offers enough protection for the average user not looking for maximum protection. Overall I am very pleased.
Added my review of the case here.
Also added quite a few images.

Just ordered the smoke case. I've had the nexus s 4G, htc evo 3d, and photon in the last 4 weeks or so (yeah I know I'm crazy). I'm sticking with the photon though. I've had these tpu cases for both the nexus and 3d and loved them. Actually made me like the phones more somehow. I really like the see through cases that show the back of the phone off. I'm thinking it'd be cool to have clear, red, royal blue and I really liked the smoke geo tpu case too.

I just got this phone for my wife and shes a big fan of purple.
I've seen quite a few reviews / post on the SGP NeoHybrid series cases but nothing on the Linear Color series, thus I figured I'd post some quick photos and share my comments.
After several reviews on how the NeoHybrid series sags after while I decided to stay away from that model and try the Linear Color series. I found out the frame is of the same material as the NeoHybrid, just the back is different / hard plastic. I wanted a two-tone look, thus ended up ordering 2 cases, one in Silver and one in Black. First let me say I absolutely LOVE these cases. I think the look is absolutely gorgeous and the fit is spot on. I read reviews about the back being loose on the international version of the SG2 but this is not the case with our model. There is absolutely no movement of the back case. The cases are also a little different between the Black and Silver. The Black has a high gloss while the Silver has a bit of a flat texture to it. This works well with the combo of the cases as you don't have a full slippery phone with the all black and you have nice break in the texture with introducing the gloss black to the silver case. Overall I would highly recommend this case. The picture I have do not do the cases justice. Additionally these cases include the Ultra Crystal screen protector which is installed in the pictures.

Thank you for the review. Can you confirm if the case covers the top mic? Also, how well does the side piece fit the phone? Is a youtube review it looked like the side piece was bowing out a bit so every time the buttons were pressed, the case would clearly flex.
Wow those cases look sweet. Thanks for the info.

The case does indeed cover the top mic, however I believe it can easily be fixed by some of the methods described in this forum (hot nail, small drill, etc). I plan to give it a shot on mine this weekend. Will try to post some update pictures with a better camera when I do. As far as the case, there is absolutely no bowing / flexing taking place. If it's the same youtube video I saw, they mentioned they had attempted to put the case on with one of those skins on and that make the case bulge a bit as they forced it on. The two I have fit like a glove and again have no movement of the back plate as described for the international version.
Case
I like the pics, and I am in the market for a case. I am definitely going to check these out.
I got my Linear case today and I must say I like it alot! I go Soul Black which has a glossy finish to it which I prefer. Because of this glossiness, the case can be slippery though but i dont mind. The case has a nice lip on front side so laying the phone face down is no problem. The fit is well done too. With a 3 piece case, I was worried how snug it would fit together. Rest assured, everything feels nice and snug. I also verified my phone, wifi, and gps signals are not negatively impacted by this case , unlike my CaseMate Barely There Aluminum which I also like the look of but could not deal with the greatly degraded gps signal.
My only complaint, and this definitely more of a preference, I wish the lip on the front side was a not so high. Swiping from edge to edge, my finger hits the edge. Its not a big deal though.
Overall, I would recommend this case!
I would get one, but I'm thinking about taking my SGS II back next week for the LG Nitro HD when it comes out. It's nice to know there are some good, reasonably priced cases for this phone, though.

Hmm...I like my Neo Hybrid case but it's a pain whenever I want to remove it to access the microsd card or when I had to peel off an old screen protector and place a new one one. Been thinking about this case and was wondering if you could post or PM me pics? (Probably gonna go with soul black as well since I don't want to buy a white & black to keep my stormtrooper look -- unless someone's willing to buy the black shell with white backing?)
Thanks!

Alright I will post some pics later. I will say that removing this case is pretty easy however, I dont think I would advise doing it too many times. There are little clips that attaches the bottom part to the frame. I imagine these clips could wear over time if the case is removed too many times.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't plan on removing the case too often but I'd also like it NOT to be such a PITA when I want to take it off. It's really the only negative thing I ahve to say about the Neo Hybrid case. I wish they offered a white shell w/black backing instead of having to buy 2 different color cases though since they offer the white shell with pink, turquoise, etc. <-- NO black backing, ReaLLY?

I believe it's the same case - the only difference is that you'll get the correct Steinheil screen protector without the home button cutout that comes with the i9100 (aka international) version. The case itself fits either although since the i9100 is a bit slimmer, the back supposedly wiggles whereas it should fit flush on the i777.
Ugh...so I went ahead decided to get the Infinity White Linear case and got it today...
Sux, it doesn't fit right. The bottom part won't clip into the rest; only one side clips in properly as if the width is not right. I've emailed SGP's customer service so they can RMA and get me a new case (I'm going to be pissed though if they try to charge me for shipping & handling).
I'm really surprised that it doesn't fit. I hope I just got one from a bad batch.
I sent an SGP neohybrid case back on the 14th of november and still waiting on my refund. had to pay for the shipping back.

Was the product defective (my Neo Hybrid fits fine but I wanted the Linear case for easier access to my microsd card and battery)?
If it was defective, then you shouldn't have to pay to ship it back.
I'll just have to wait and see...don't know what case to get if they don't RMA and send me a Linear case to fit...(thought about the Taurus but don't want the metal case to interfere with GPS).
sent back due to wrong screen protector being sent, and had also read about how the rubber back saged over time. i bought one of the s line cases off ebay for like $5 and it fits perfect and didnt increase the size much.

Ok, then yes it would make sense that they charge you for shipping. But in my situation, the bottom part of the case doesn't fit properly. I'll look at the S line case you mentioned and see how that is. Thanks.
does anyone with the samsung 2000mah battery using with this case WITH the backing on?
Have any of you ordered this for your note? They make this one and the one without the flip cover. As of now, I am using the official flip cover and it is already starting to fall apart. I really like the look of this. If no one has ordered this, has anyone else tried any of their other products? Just curious about quality.

Also, I want to order this screen protector. There is a post here in the forums about it, but am also curious if the above case will fit with this .4mm thick tempered glass.

If it doesn't fit, this might be a good option to go with the screen protector...

Any comments would be welcome
Very nice case. Love the slim design. Will look into it.
Ended up ordering the case without the flip front and a Steinhill Ultra Crystal screen protector.
When it comes it, I will post some pictures on the consolidated white note thread.
Just ordered....
I just ordered the flip cover version - should be here by the end of the week. Will post review and pics when it arrives.
Please come back and give us some reviews of this case. I really like the look of it. However, I wonder why there's no cutouts for the power or volume buttons. I also wish they had done a little more to cover the corners.

Yeah, I read that, too. I can see where the cutouts are for the camera, flash, usb, and mic. I just assumed that's what they were talking about. I guess it's possible that it's just a mockup, or you just have to push the buttons through the leather.
Does anyone know if this case is available in black?
Also, SPG makes a Stehen case similar to this one with full corner coverage.
i'm interested in this case too.
My case arrived!!!
So my case arrived today from Amazon, and I promised you all a review, so here goes:
1) Delivery & packaging
The case came via USPS - not UPS or FedEx. Ordered: Sunday, March 25th, 2012; delivered: Wednesday, March 28th, 2012. Came from San Diego, CA to Orlando, FL in 3 days. Not bad. The case was packed in a bubble-padded shipping envelope. A bit cheap considering I paid $4.99 in shipping & handling, but whatever.

Inside the bubble wrap was the case in it's manufacturer's packaging. Nice pack - obviously meant for hanging on a peg in a retail location. It's attractive and well-protected inside, and the package was not difficult at all to open. There is a fingernail tab in the top-right corner of the front face that lets you just lift off the front cover. No chance of scratching your case with scissors or a knife - a nice touch, I thought.
The reason I mentioned the nice packaging is that inside the outer packaging, the case is resting inside ANOTHER plastic tray (this one without a face), providing an extra layer of cushioning and protection from crushing. It's obvious that whoever thought up the packaging design took care to remember the leather case inside...
2) Aesthetics and General Fit/Finish
This is a NICE case! The edges have all been finished and are not ragged like some other cases I've seen. Everything is glued instead of stitched, so we'll see how well that holds up over the long-term, but so far, so good - nothing is loose or peeling. There is a small company logo on the front in the bottom-left corner and another one (with a tagline) on the back in the bottom-center. Both are small and non-obtrusive.
3) SPECIFIC Fit and Finish
My 1st surprise was to find out that the cover MAGNETICALLY sticks to the case to close - a pleasant surprise! The 2nd surprise was to find a wallet-like card pouch on the inside with 2 slots for credit cards. Um, this was NOT in the pictures on the website and MAY be a problem when I install my SPIGEN SGP GLAS t. Premium Tempered Glass Series Screen Protector which arrives tomorrow. I will report back on this when it's installed.
The 3rd surprise was that there were no cutouts on the sides for power and volume up/down. I think I actually like this, as the leather is marked with the button positions and is soft enough that you can get the buttons to do what you want without *mashing* the leather. The top is wide open so you can slip the phone in the case, and the bottom has cutouts for the S-Pen, Mic, and USB port.
Top opening:
Bottom:
Right Side (Power):
Left Side (Volume):
Inside Flap:
As you can see from the last picture, there's a full-size hole for the earpiece and front-facing camera. The rear of the case also has cut-outs for the camera/flash and speaker. both are proportional and not overly large.
4) Summary
So, do I think it was worth $50 (by the time shipping was involved)? Yes. I think this is very much so a world of 'you get what you pay for', and I think this case is a well crafted, quality leather product. I'd expect to pay this much or more for a leather wallet, so I have no qualms about the price of this cover. The only trepidation I have is the credit card holder inside the front flap. I will never put any cards in it, and I would prefer the case not to have it (as was depicted in the images on their website), but it's not a deal breaker. The leather itself is smooth (non-grain) and evenly dyed, with no visible imperfections (barbed wire scars, dimples, etc.). It is genuine leather, not faux leather or any other synthetic fabric. Overall it does add appx. half-again the thickness of the phone, but it's not unmanageable.
Overall rating: 8/10 - ********_ _ - 2 Stars off for the credit card thing inside the front flap and not being shipped in a cardboard box for a bit more protection.

Thanks for the review. It's a really good one and very useful. My only concern is that the phone seems could slip out from the top easily. Am I right?

It doesn't slip out the top, but when you plug the charger in from the bottom, it does 'push' out the top a bit. A quick push back into the case, and all is good.

This case isn't the wallet one. This is just a phone case. They make a wallet version. As I posted in my review, I was surprised it had the credit card slots, as the original pictures on the website didn't show this.
As a follow-up, here are a few quick observations:
1) With the cover open and flipped around the back, the speaker is VERY DIFFICULT to hear. I've missed calls because I didn't hear the ringer.
2) Same problem with it sitting flat on a surface (like a desktop). The leather is so smooth it effectively blocks sound from the speaker. I find myself leaning it up on a pen or something just so there's an air pocket underneath.
3) It slips very easily into my pocket. I thought this was going to be an issue, but it's very smooth and slides nicely into my front pocket.
That's it for now - will report back as more questions pop up and/or I have more observations to post.
how is the thickness with having credit cards? ..is it awkward when talking on the phone, do you leave the cover closed or flip it back? as far as speaker ..my phone is always on silent ..while at work ..i only ask because i ordered a cheap $10. wallet "leather case off ebay..i love the concept but damn its bulky!!! its only temporary until you finish your review of the elago

Sorry, I didn't see this post update - so here are the answers to your questions:
1) Thickness with credit cards - I don't know, as I don't put any in there. Like I said in my original post, this case wasn't suppose to have a CC pouch. The original pictures didn't show it, and I would have preferred it without the pouch. Based on thickness, I would say that the cards would press against the glass (especially if you are using the Glas+ protector like I am). I've always found that putting cards in a flat cover like this causes the flat cover to distort, so I'm guessing that that's what would happen here, especially if you then put the phone in a pocket.
2) Is it awkward talking on the phone.... - Yes and no. Holding the phone with the case open is a bit cumbersome as the 'hinge' adds width when the cover is open. I rarely hold the phone up to my head, I'm either using the speaker or a bluetooth headset. One note - the back cover, when open and flipped around, COVERS the speaker port, causing the speaker sound to become VERY muted. I usually either stick a finger in between, or if I'm setting the case down, leave the flap open and stick a pen or something under the phone (again, laying the case flat on the desk also causes the muted speaker effect).
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!
Just got mine. So far it looks good.not bulky. I still need to get used to this to comment.

So far, so good!
I get a lot of compliments on the case - it really does look very nice!
No issues regarding durability, wearability, etc. It's not getting dirty from handling, it's not scratched up (so far), and there are no places where the leather is separating, peeling, or otherwise failing.
Bottom line, I like it! Money well spent!
i will be ordering mine soon.. just want to make sure it has cc slots!!! thanks!!

Bear in mind:
1) It only has 2 CC slots, and...
2) It wasn't suppose to have any at all!
WHy would the corners be exposed? Makes no sense. Drop it and there goes the screen..
Which question for ppl who using the flip case... How do you feel when holding it?
I have a Samsung flip case and i hate it. Hard to hold unless take some extra steps to fold the front to the back. When the phone rings, take more time to "flip the cover"..... so inconvenienced.
With my TPU case i use the phone instantly whenever I need.
***Edit from original***
As chikoo pointed out in post 12, there is no hole for the secondary mic on top of phone near headset jack (5 tiny pin holes). I did not realize this on my original review. I did end up drilling a small hole to account for this as stated in post 13.

Just bought my Diztronic case from Amazon for $12.50. I had one of these for my Lumia 900 and loved it, so naturally I bought on for the 920 as well. I've owned everything from Otterboxes, to Casemates, to cheap silicone cases. Cases are very particular to the user, so I'll try to keep this as objective as possible. This case is for the person who wants scratch protection, light drop protection, minimal bulk, and a raised front edge so the glass doesn't touch if laid front face down on a table.
DIZTRONIC TPU Case on Amazon
Pros:
1. Perfectly snug fit. Feels like it is part of the phone. Doesn't feel loose at all.
2. Pleasant matte texture. It really feels nice in your hand. Provides a soft grip without being excessive.
3. Can no longer feel heat of phone. The is a BIG plus. The 920 can really get warm sometimes, but that is pretty much a non-factor now.
4. Light weight and minimum bulk. The effectively adds nothing to the heft of the 920.
5. Power button opening is great reference for no-look operation. Works perfectly too, even for my big fingers. I really like how it is recessed.
6. Value priced.
7. No fingerprints. It is really a dark gray color (slightly lighter than phone case). Looks great imo. The pictures below show it slightly lighter than actual due to the flash though. Overall, looks sharp.
8. Full access to all ports with all adapters.
9. Wireless charging still works!
Cons:
1. Very slight visual gap on front on top and bottom of gorilla glass. Not a factor for me because I have a black phone and black case. But this could potentially cause be a negative if you have different color case than phone. They do come in black, cyan, red and yellow though. The sides don't have this gap. I imagine they may have done this to provide enough space to slide the phone in when installing.
2. Volume button and camera button are less pronounced than without case. Not really a negative or a positive, but I put it on the con side because it is slightly more difficult to feel. They are raised, but less obvious than without case. The operation is perfect, but I'm less sure of when I'm on the volume up or down.
3. The 4 corners actually had a mold seam, even though the website said it doesn't. It was an ever so slight edge on all 4 corners. The only reason I noticed it is because the rest of the phone is so soft. No problem though, I took some 1000 grit sandpaper and smoothed it out. Very nice now.
The pictures show the case slightly lighter than real life due to camera flash, but it is a shade lighter than the phone case.

I am also a big fan of their cases, Had one for my Galaxy Nexus and it was great. I will probably still get an Otterbox Commuter when that comes out as well to switch between them depending on what I am doing.

I ordered and got one. Beautiful construction. But I am returning it because it has no opening for the secondary microphone that is near the earplug.
Wow, you are right. Didn't even know it was there. I guess it must be for noise reduction or something. Anywho, decided to use my dremel on low speed and make my own hole. Thanks for pointing this out.

what tip did you use?
I have the Kawasaki version of a dremel tool. It comes with drill bits and I used the 1/8" bit. You have to take your time and line it up. It will end up very close to the headphone jack hole. I got it pretty darn close to lining up with the mic (good enough for me). I probably could have been a little closer to the other hole, but I was afraid to get too close. I recommend starting it by hand. Just twist the bit in for a few minutes to get it started where you want it. Then I used the tool on the slowest speed and finished it off. I am actually pretty pleased with the way it turned out... looks like it was made that way to me.
Note: I hope this is obviously, but I drilled it with the case off the phone. I lined it up as best I could and marked it first.
I should not be on xda if I drill the case with phone inside it... ?

I contacted Diztronic about this and here's the reply:
A Diztronic customer support staff member has replied to your support request, #4532 with the following response:
Yes, I just became aware of it last night as well. We already pulled the cases from our website and eBay. The problem is Amazon is still sitting on a bunch of inventory at their warehouse, and to have it destroyed id quite costly. They charge $1.50 a piece just to discard inventory! Considering it's taken over 3 weeks for anyone to notice this, I have to wonder how much a problem it really is. It doesn't appear to be negatively effecting the sound quality in a noticeable manner, or at least no ones reported that. I'll probably end up discounting what inventory is left at the Amazon warehouse and put up a disclaimer about the noise cancellation hole.
Since the Lumia 920 has really tanked for us, I don't see us making a 2nd revision. We will extend our return policy on the Lumia 920 cases for any customer who would like to return them due to this issue. My apologies for the inconvenience, the noise cancellation mic wasn't on the dummy phone we acquired. From what I've seen, many other manufacturers missed this hole as well.

Ahhhhh Relief. I FINALLY have a case for my note 3. I was dreading every day knowing I had no case yet for my baby not it has some armor and I feel much better.
Bonus? this armor is amazing. I have to say kudo's to UAG they keep improving the cases. they take the customer issues and feedback and they incorporate it into future designs.
lets have a look at this beauty before we continue.

On my screen this is a very good representation of the actual color of the case. Some of my other pictures come out a little "more" orange (which I would have liked) but its still orange enough to keep me happy (I prefer Retina Burning colors
They selected a very good orange for this case. not too "outlandish" but still pleasingly bright and orange.
They have improved several key area's of the case. More ribbing inside to more firmly meld with the shape of the phone. The buttons tended to be a little mushy. We the customer learned if we "sliced" it a little along each button it freed them up nicely. they have fully incorporated this concept in the new case and the buttons are now like "butter"
I am not joking when I say the buttons feel "better" with the UAG case on than they do naked" its easier to find them and they for some strange reason seem to "press" better. its very strange. I have never had a case "improve" on the function of the phone this way before. My guess is samsung just make them too small and slipper and the case design of the UAG corrects this.
if button depression is a sticking point for you then you will NOT be displeased with the UAG.
I also love that they went back to the original design. I did NOT like the new design for the Note II case. it was ugly enough to me that I never even bought one for my Note II so very happy to see the return of this design.
Some more interior shots of the cut outs and buttons and patterning.
The UAG is a medium duty design case with some features that push it upwards to inbetween medium duty and heavy duty.
Some of these are the ridges on the backside which also act to protect the case itself from marring when you set it down.
its a two part "melded" construction. the black is TPU which is a "stiff" rubber like compound (thermo plastic) this provides your "shock" protection (dropping it) and then it has a Poly Carbonate component (the orange part) that gives you rigidity and IMPACT/Penetration protection. (something hitting the phone)
the phone has as much impact protection as a "heavy duty" case but not as much "shock" protection (rubber thickness) as a heavy duty case like for example a caseology hybrid rugged or a AMS Kraken from trident or a zero shock from zero lemon. its a trade off of amount of protection and how "LARGE" you want the phone to become.
a full on HD Ruggedized case will DOUBLE the size of your phone. minimum. when your out in the woods you might need that kind of protection. if your more careful around home you don't really need that kind of protection.
there are 2 methods of typical damage to a phone. something hits the screen directly or the corner is impacted.
this is where the UAG moves to inbetween medium duty and heavy duty.
the corners on the UAG case are not form fitting. they are "larger" than the stock corners to provide extra shock protection at this critical point of impact. I have no doubt you could drop this phone from 6ft onto a corner and not worry about any damage to the phone. (No I won't be testing that on my $550 phone
Last Interior shot
Another welcome improvement is more frontal encasement. its quite difficult to install and even more difficult to remove the phone from this case.
Mind you this is a good thing. the harder it is to install and remove is a very good indicator of how well designed the case is to retain the phone.
the front opening is smaller now. so the phone does not FIT through the front. you need to distort the case quite a bit to shoe horn the phone into it. VERY welcome upgrade! this case will NOT release this phone easily on its own.
the phone is also more recessed into the case! big big improvement. this is important for when you set the phone down on its face (to protect the face) if its too close to the surface you set it down onto things can scratch or impact the screen.
they have thickened this up so you now have a bit over 2mm of screen depression distance. In this picture you can see its thicker than a nickle which is 1.95mm
Of course same as before and one of the larger benefits of a case is it depresses the camera lens nicely. preventing it from touch anything when the phone is set down or put inside anything and also reducing the chances if you putting your finger on it when you grab/extract/slide the phone putting finger prints on it marring your videos.
this portion of the case is around 3mm thick and you end up with a bit over 2mm of depth protection (the camera lens led unit of the Note 3 protrudes out of the phone about 1 mm)
Lets do a walk around of the outside of the case.
At the bottom you have very nice clean cutouts for the Speaker and Microphone access holes. excellent precision cuts here.
The Stylus cut out is also precise and nicely spacious giving you easy unrestricted access to remove the stylus.
The USB jack cut out is also very nice and more spacious than before! this is fantastic so if you have a "larger" than typical plug you won't have a problem with the case cut out interfering with insertion of the plug.
My skinny mSD OTG adapter fits fine. I don't have my Meenova adapter handy I will update this review once I have it although I do not anticipate a fitment issue.
at the top we have headphone and microphone cut outs. the headphone jack looks to be large enough to encompass "big head" plugs without a problem and the other cut out is your IR Emitter.
On the sides we have the volume rocker
and opposite the power button
I like the new hex pattern sides. while I did not have a grip problem with the old design IT WAS a wee slippery feeling. Now it feels very nice. no slip concerns.
Close up of the back of the phone with design and UAG logo details
They even thought to increase the spacing for the proximity and light sensors to prevent interference and false readings
And how it fits in the hand (of note I have VERY large hands) I can completely cover the phone with my hand.
This case is more difficult to install and remove than the original. this is a good thing. more secure. its quite easy once you know how
Start by inserting one long side of the phone
than using your thumb push the bottom opposing corner of the phone into the case pulling the case down and pushing the phone "up" at the same time till it snaps into place
work UP the remaining side snapping it into place until its all in. You can do this one handed (see video below)
Removal is a little trickier. Push one corner off then work your way down to the other corner and pull the phone out. (again see video you can do this one handed)

My Note3 is locked but my XDm45 is loaded.
They have always had the slits under the power and volume keys. Or at least on the s3,s4. If they don't have it it's cuz they're fakes.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
nope. no slits on the multiple S3 case I had. I added them myself with an exacto knife and I bought them direct from UAG not third party. Their was a whole thread here on XDA about it and that thread is where I got the idea from to use an xacto blade to slide the slit.
they offered to send a replacement immediately but I said no worries as it was a super easy fix. I did order early so maybe it was a bad batch or early batch or something.
I'm just until opposite of you. I really like their Note 2 case which gave you the ability to change the color combination. Since they did away with that design for their Note 3 case I haven't even given it a second look, until looking at your pics. I still don't like their Note 3 case. Also, it looks bulkier than their Note 2 case, is it? I just think the Note 3 looks too nice to bury in a case like this, my opinion of course. I never drop my phones anyway, so my clear Diztronic TPU covers my needs while still allowing my go see my phone. I'm also still shocked that UAG covered the temp sensor hole, and even called it a "mystery hole"!! Really UAG, a mystery hole?!?! Must suck not having access to the internet!! Lolol

not me. hated the note II design also hated I could not get it in orange. only black and white my two most disliked phone colors. now if the OUTSIDE was orange (instead of the nearly invisible tiny insert) I might have gotten it even though I don't like the design.
man was I excited when I heard they were so rapidly coming out with a Note II case (I waited so long for the S3 case) that when it popped up my first instant reaction was ..... YUCK ..... but ahhh I guess I could deal with it in orange and then I found out NO ORANGE !! only white and black.. Double Yuck hehehe
the case is very slim. it adds very little bulk to the phone in either case.
I really love the industrial rugged military like design of the S3 and this Note 3 case. I guess I am just partial to that kind of styling.
I can see people liking the Note II case. a lot of people did like it! so your not alone!
meh. the temp/hygro hole was irrelevant. I actually wish I got one without the hole. it won't effect the readings from the sensor and is just one more hole for dirt to get into. I might even fill that hole in.
YO UAG !! how about some CLEAR loving for the Note 3
freaking teasing me with that clear case then only releasing it for the icrap !! no fair
clear would be pretty slick. using vinyl skins you could "change up" often with the same case!
I see the hole in the second last pic. Thanks!
Excellent write up! Thank you @nerys71 for the extra inspiration to get my own.

no problem. I really love their cases.
Oh I so dream of a UAG case for the Zero Lemon battery
when you hold our device in landscape mode where is your home button? left or right side of the screen?
i got this case too and absolutely love it. however i did notice a small detail today that UAG probably didnt consider. Most users hold the device in landscape mode with the home button on the right side... in doing so the UAG logo on the rear is upside down. looks like the brand is GEN... It should have probably been designed so that its right side up when in landscape mode.
as I said most users hold it this way, some might use the home button on the left tho...
hmmm poll anyone? lol
I'd say you are on the wrong side of the phone if you are looking at the uag logo

ha, so that's why my touchscreen wasnt working correctly and looked a little orange....
it was just an observation
I really like orange and how this case looks. However I pretty much require a holster or something of the sort.

should not be hard to find/mod/make a holster for it. IE maybe a slip grip?
