First off id like to say thanks in advance to any replies and also apologize if this has been posted previously (i searched and could not find anything that was helpful) I lurked around these forums when i had my x1 and im hoping you guys can be as helpful for me as you are for everyone else. anyway onto the issue
I used the superboot method to root my ATT US Streak. My intentions were to update to 2.1 following the steps in the "eclair working on my u.s. unlocked streak!" thread (wont let me put a link since its my first post)
after using fastboot to root the phone will boot up and function fine but recovery and fastboot no longer work. i tried flashing Koush's custom recovery and other things that require fastboot and the terminal just says "sending..." nothing happens no errors or anything, the cmd prompt just sits there and i need to remove the battery to reboot the device.
i then downloaded the Rom Manager apk from the market and flashed the clockwork recovery from there (it said i did anyway). when i load the recovery from boot (volume keys + power and its the stock recovery) and chose option 2 to flash modaco custom rom or even the stock dell rom it just goes to a black screen and i once again need to remove the battery to reboot.
the phone itself is still functioning fine when it boots up and everything works the way it should other than the home, menu, and back button lights flash in random orders, thats just annoying though. again any help is appreciated
so what should i try next?
EDIT: woke up this morning and now the device will not turn on. i tried starting to fastboot and recovery but still nothing. plug it into my pc and i get the "found new hardware wizard" for a Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM.
first real brick? ha that would be my luck
EDIT 2: a kid just ran through my work, grabbed my phone and threw it on the ground. it screwed up the 30 pin connector on the phone and the charger. im going to hurt somebody. phone is booting again though... put sd card back in and still boots fine
SOLVED: Dont know the technical reasons behind it but i had to reinstall the drivers and switch usb ports for every fastboot and recovery procedure
removed SD card and its booting up normally. any thoughts?
I just tried unlocking the BL from my official AT&T gingerbread using this guide, I tried flashing the sbf file with RSD and it got stuck and now my phone stays at this with the difference that mine gives me the option to try fastboot, RSD mode, Android Recover and another pletora of options I'm not sure i want to name.
So being able to try RSD again, i tried flashing this and it was appearently working but when it tried to set the device on BP Pass through mode, the device would go back to the Infamous screen and it wouldn't move from there.
Am I screwed? Do i have option?
I'm going to try to flash the stock FW to see what happens

use the automatic unlock tool found here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871&highlight=automatic
do option 1 then option 3 (only use option 3 if on gingerbread) and you're good to go
Fastboot then use fastboot oem unlock command on PC. Reboot and it should work.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Thanks, I'll try it out and post back
I forgot to mention that my phone seems to be low on battery. Does it charge if it's not on the OS?
Noob Killed his phone
Hello, First time Poster here, please bare with me...
I really shouldn't of touched this.....
I have an Atrix w/ the newest updates to it, and attempted to unlock the phone. Everything started well, then it failed while writing to the device. Now, when I attempt to boot, I get the similar message of
SVF:405;1:2
Failed to boot 0x1000
With a 14 available options. I can get into fastboot, though I honestly am not sure what to do from there. I have the fastboot s/w downloaded, along with the gingerbread OS.
Did I just kill my phone?
I haven't still fixed mine because of the battery, I still have to find an external charger. Though, you can try the link from above.
Ok, I did the steps and now my phone is at a screen with the motorola logo with the dual core name on it and it has the word Unlocked on top of it.
What should i do?
the boot screen with motorola logo and unlock in corner will take awhile to load usually like 10 minutes but if it doesnt load for example i let mine sit for an hour and never loaded i just took the batter o and restart it and it rebooted and worked but use that as a last resort give it some time!
Omg i just fixed it!! Thx for the help!!

i think if the phone can be detected by PC, it should be a soft brick.. it is unfortunate my phone is booting loop and can not be read by PC, you're better than me..
I went into Recovery Mode today to clear my cache and Dalvik cache to install a new ROM and somehow I ended up in a dir for the partition and accidentally hit 0M so now the phone won't even go into recovery mode. I get a kernel error when trying to get in there. The phone still boots into CM7 fine, however I can't do anything because the points on the screen are not where they should be. It's hard to explain, but if I hit the home button the icon above it is clicked.
I tried reflashing the pudding SBF via RSDLite and that did nothing. I've attempted fastboot, however I get <waiting for device> every time. I have the proper drivers (Windows 7 64) and I even tried it in XP virtual to no avail. All I wanted to do was install the new Neutrino 2.5p and now I'm at a loss. I've researched what I could and have found nothing that coincides with my issue.
My bootloader is unlocked already and I was running CM7. Is there any way to get into fastboot via the OS or do you HAVE to reboot? I'm at a loss right now and I was doing everything I could to not post, but if someone would help me out I'd appreciate it.
I fixed it. Turns out my other machine 15 miles away still was able to recognize it.. weird.. either way I flashed pdsfix.img and the logo.bin and RomRacer's Recovery. Then I flashed Neutrino 2.5p with the addons I wanted and it works good now...
There's a TL;DR at the end !
Hi - I hope you will be able to help me !
I have a XT910 Motorola Razr from Rogers in Canada.
I've had a Nexus S for a long time and I guess I wasn't prepared for a phone that wasn't as friendly to modding and flashing.
Before trying to flash a version of CM10 found here in the forums, I installed CWM Touch and made a nandroid backup - standard stuff.
What I didn't realize until it was too late is that booting into recovery DOES NOT boot CWM Touch - but rather the regular android one - the one that does not allow you to do much other than to factory reset.
I found out about RSD Lite but not until my battery wasn't charged enough and couldn't do anything about the phone.
I searched for the longest time on a LOT on different forums about how I could fix this and resorted to getting a factory cable - which works.
So, now, I can flash stuff using fastboot. Great, right ? Well, I still can't get things working.
RSD Lite doesn't detect my phone, and I believe that's because ADB doesn't detect it as well - so I tried that alternative way to flash fastboot files provided by the eternity project.
I've tried various fastboot packages but to no avail.
The best I can do is to get past the motorola logo - then black screen. Otherwise, I get boot or flash failures and get sent back to fastboot.
When the phone is on the black screen and that I plug a USB cable to my phone, Windows sees the device but it doesn't recognize it - I assure you I've tried all the different drivers to try and get it to work. Nothing.
Worth mentioning - I often get errors "Preflash validation failure" when trying to flash stuff.
I really feel I could fix this issue by flashing an IMG version of CWM touch or some other sort of recovery so that I can recover using a nandroid but they are no where to be found ! I can't believe that all recovery options are installed by APKs.
Any ideas ?
TL;DR, XT910 went boot looping after trying to flash CM10 - resorted to getting a factory cable and even then, can't get the phone back into working condition. Phone is detected by fastboot but not ADB.
Thanks !
first... the battery is the problem

How to Boot your Phone on Low Battery with Fastboot Flash Failure
To boot your phone on low battery where you get stuck on fastboot flash failure, hold down Volume Up and Volume Down then plug in “AC” USB charger to your Droid Razr. This will give you the bootloader menu upon where you can choose “Normal Recovery” to boot. If your phone doesn’t boot here, it will at least re-charge the battery normally instead of being stuck on fastboot flash failure which will re-charge your phone “very very slowly”.
so i received two htc eris' from a buddy of mine yesterday so my girlfriend could finally make the move up to a smart phone. neither were ever rooted and were running stock software. one of them works perfect but the other was stuck in an infinite boot cycle so i tried to hard reset it but it gets stuck at the screen with the red triangle and exclamation point.
so i figure maybe ill just try rooting it or at least getting the stock software back on it. im new to rooting but even if i mess up and brick the phone its a brocken spare so who cares. well i got to the point that i try to put it into fastboot usb mode to push a new recovery image to it but it wouldnt load into fastboot usb, the screen just had the red fastboot showing. so i try the working eris and it loads it up no problem. i also tried my htc hero and it didnt have a problem either.
so whats going on with this phone? any ideas why only it cant be loaded into fastboot usb?

You can only push a new Recovery image using Fastboot if the Eris has the S-OFF bootloader (HBOOT version 1.47.2000 S-OFF). Most Erises are HBOOT 1.46.0000, 1.47.0000, or 1.49.0000 with S-ON.
One method is to install HTC's latest 1.51.0000 bootloader, unlock it, which should allow fastboot to push the recovery image. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23034380&postcount=3 for a more elaborate procedure that you can follow if pushing the recovery image still doesn't work.
I strongly recommend using Scary Alien's version of Amon_RA. Stay away from ClockworkMod Recovery as the default recovery on an Eris - it is problematic if flashes fail. Amon_RA is safer and there are no documented bricked phones from people with Amon_RA. See http://androidforums.com/eris-all-t...2-custom-recovery-trackball-not-required.html
