[Q] 4.0.3 and Bluetooth disconnecting - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I use a GPS Receiver (qStarz 818XT) and Trackmaster App with my Galaxy S2 whilst doing trackdays.
Previously running 2.3.3, 2.3.4 & 2.3.5 the system worked perfectly.
Having upgraded to 4.0.3 (XWLP7 stock) I found that as soon as the phone locked itself (screen off) the software stopped logging/receiving. If I keep the screen on all is fine. Now unfortunately on a motorcycle trackday my phone gets locked and put in my pocket.
Having reverted back to 2.3.5 (XWKJ1) the App / GPS Receiver works perfectly, as intended with the screen locked, continuing to log data.
Is this a known Bluetooth problem with 4.0.3 dropping out? Any solutions?
Many thanks all.

It is not a known bug ... for me.
Maybe you should try some of the newer ICS ROMs, such as XWLPD or XWLPF.
Official Firmware thread is here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Try to wipe cache partition (and Dalvik cache) after flashing ICS.
If that does not help, you may have to do a factory reset.
So, please make a backup before !
Good luck !

Hi,
You can try my app "Bluetooth Keepalive" from the market, it automatically prevents android standby when being connected via bluetooth.

[Q] Bluetooth Problem with o2 latest firmware KI4

Just updated my o2 i9100 via Kies to latest firmware PDA:KJ1 /PHONE:KI4 /CSC:KJ1 (O2U)
Everything seemed to go ok and phone rebooted
Now when I switch on Bluetooth a message apears telling me there are open available bluetooth devices and then crashes.
Screen goes blank - quick flash of o2 Startup "water" and startup screen then media scanning complete and keeps looping until I can catch it by turning off bluetooth. Then its stable!!!
Newbe needs help please
BTW all was working fine before update
I have the same issue, also noticed that in 'Running Services' there are 2 copies of BLUETOOTH SHARE running, one showing 28.00KB, the other 0.00B, otherwise all other functions running ok.
Does everyone with the latest O2 firmware have this problem? I'd be grateful if anyone else could say if Bluetooth is broken for them too.
Thanks.
Updated yesterday (KJ1) no problems, switch on bluetooth, notification comes up showing available devices.
Downgraded and then let Kies try again.
This time all working!
Not sure what went wrong the first time as both times got exactly the same messages and success at the end.
How did you downgrade ?

I used factory reset.
remember to backup data first
Factory reset resolved Bluetooth issues, thanks
I've been having this problem despite several full wipes. This is happening on the leaked XXLPB (ICS firmware) as well so it doesn't seem to be a software related.
When I enter commands such as *#232337# (Bluetooth Address) or *#232331# (Bluetooth Test Mode), I can't find Bluetooth details (such as Bluetooth MAC address etc.). I'm wondering if I should send the phone for repair.
Would like to hear if this is a known problem and there is a possible fix other than a full wipe.

[Q] screen auto turning on :(

Hello to everybody,
I am new user of a galaxy s2 which I byied used, .
During the last days, I've noticed that the screen sometimes turns on without any obvious reason to me. After 2 or 3 seconds it turns off and so on.
During these same days, after some calls, I get a notification fot "vingo" to have access to some of my phones hardware, which I decline.
My phone has the ics 4.03 version of android, and specifically the polish one (I live in Greece)
my kernel version is 3.0.15-Ι9100XXLPS-CL294511 [email protected] #3 .
any advice ?
since my phone runs a polish firmware, it has already been rooted ?
and if yes,could/should I return it somehow to the previous version of android GingerBread ?
or is there a way apart from reset to default values,to eliminate this problem ?
thanks in advance for any answer.
this is probebly due to some backgrond data /apps,
factory reset is the sysmplest way,
backup with Titanium and reset
restore apps only one by one monitoring the issue....

[Q] no rSAP on JB 4.1.2

Recently updated from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.1.2 and since then my car won't connect to the phone with bluetooth. Error on car display says the phone is not compatible.
I've reflashed the bluetooth.zip, and have reflashed ROM to make sure nothing wrong there. Did reset/wipe, and dalvik, and cache partition. Phone has been rooted all the time. I've tried the rSAP install system files tool from the market which made no difference unfortunately. Also tried the trial version of bluetooth SIM access which didn't work.
Car radio is the VAG premium RNS510 unit.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

[GT-9100] Multiple problems after factory reset

Hello everyone,
I have a samsung Galaxy S2 and facing quite enough issues with it.
Problem started when one fine day "Media scanner" kept running. I googled for that problem, uninstall few doubtful apps,
cleared off other data but all in vain.
Finally, I did factory reset to get rid of this. After factory reset, I got below problems :
1. Lag in Samsung keypad
2. No audio at all (alarm, incoming calls, music, FM Radio etc etc.)
3. Camera failed.
4. And some times, face issue while rendering.
To solve first one I install swiftkey app which is working fine.
For audio issue, I googled but nothing was useful for me.
Currently, my device has Android version 2.3.4 , i.e. as it was shipped.
I am thinking to update to Ice Cream Sandwich (thinking that can solve all issues) but before that need opinion of experts.
If anybody can "pinpoint actual issue which caused all this or give some direction in solving this" , that would be great help to me.
Thanks in advance for help
With Regards
Neha

Firstly, Thank you for suggestion.
Secondly, I want to mention, my device has started working smoothly its own. Today morning it got fully discharged and got shut down, after charging it is working without any issue. I am not sure, whether battery charging/ discharging has some link to all those issues because I had rebooted it many times.
Anyways OS upgrade is required, hope my experience can help somebody else also

[Q] Problems after updating to JB 4.1.2 on a i9100P (Orange)

Hi All,
I have a galaxy S2 with NFC, the I9100P on the Orange network (UK)
The phone came with Android 4.0.4 and recently an official update has been released based on JB 4.1.2
I updated the phone to this stock 4.1.2 and the problems started...the phone freezes a lot, mostly when typing (even using the stock keyboard) plus it overheats around the area where the camera is (mostly after a reboot)
I read about the Media Scanner causing overheating but I did not find a solution so far. I am not even using a SD card any more, as someone pointed out that could be the problem.
The phone is completely stock so I do not know what to do. I am thinking about installing CM 10 and give it a try. If even that fails, I will re-install ICS since I never had any problem with it before...
Any suggestion? Has anyone else been experiencing the same problems?
Thanks
Did you try to clear the Data/Cache of "Media Storage"? Or try to remount your sd card.
