I've noticed some annoying glitches in the SGS3 Gallery app
First
Once I open the Gallery, the albums are displayed in equal sized squares, no empty spaces between them... not anymore. Not sure what happened, but now they all have different sizes and there's an empty black space between them.
Second
Once I open an album and browse through the pictures (not the grid view, the full size when you can swipe left and right between them at full size), some of them will show up properly for a second, then flip upside down or squeeze down to landscape instead of portrait.
I know the pictures themselves are just fine, I've cleared the Gallery app data and force-stopped it. No dice.
Short of replacing my Gallery app - which I really don't want to do - I really need any suggestions you guys can throw at me.
Anything?

Is there any way to create a slide show in this widget ? And is there any way to use it as a pip ? Meaning could i play a movie in the little frame and touch outside to swap screens just like pip on a tv an multi task ( answer a text or email with out stoping the movie)?
There might be a 3rd party widget on the market somewhere to do the slideshow. It's unlikely that anyone would make a video player widget like that though. Just bookmark your spot and continue where you left off. It's not like you can watch and text at the same time
When I view a picture in the stock gallery app and I turn the phone from portrait to landscape or vice versa, the picture doesn't rotate. Instead I need to tap once on the picture to reveal the menus and then press the rotate button (on the top bar, second from the right) for the picture to turn.
Is there a way to make it auto rotate like in the stock ICS gallery?
This may sound stupid but bring down your notification bar and check if screen rotation is on.
Anyway, wouldn't be surprised if it were a bug. I have a couple of bugs in my gallery app. Some pictures flip 180 automatically and some stretch to landscape and distort instead of staying in portrait
Thanks for the reply. Auto rotate works everywhere else. It even works in the gallery app all the way until you select one picture and view it full screen. It seems as though it was designed that way because the rotate button actually lights up when you turn from portrait to landscape and vice versa.
\edit I've attached a screenshot of the rotate icon. Its the second one from the right on the top menu bar. This icon is grey when in portrait. When I turn my phone to landscape the picture doesn't rotate, instead that icon becomes white and pressable.

Mark some safe photos as favs. Wait about an hour for it to cycle thru everything.... and now, only favs show up. I don't even have private pics and I did this - no need to see screen shots in my photo tile
The proper response is PhotoSafe

If you after selecting some favorites choose random selection of the background picture from the App-Bar-Menu at the bottom it will refresh the list instantly. So you won't have to wait for the unwanted images to disappear.
In the stock S4 Gallery app, when you go full size into a photo, the top and bottom tool bars do not seem to disappear or hide at all (top shows sharing, delete, etc and bottom shows the thumbnails of other photos)...how can this be? Can we really not view our photos without these bars covering parts of them???

Hopefully someone can answer this question because it becomes obtrusive when you're trying to review your photos. When you view your photos from the camera app, only the top bar shows and bottom bar disappears. Coming from my GNEX I could view my pictures in full mode with just a touch.
All I have to do is tap the picture.

I have stumble upon an issue that sometimes my photos are not saved correctly in the gallery. I take a picture, then I open the gallery, see the thumbnail, click it and I see the image blurred with a gray overlay and the text "Loading", this take a couple minutes and eventually the thumbnail disappears from the gallery. Has anyone encountered this behavior?
