These are the major setbacks I don't like about Samsung Dive.
You can lock the phone remotely but only with a 4-digit number. This is a joke security, you can even guess it via bruteforce, unlimited attempts. Even user's password or pattern can be way more secure.
No automatically wipe everything (data and sd cards) after a specified time if the password is not entered correctly or after a number of tries. I think the Android itself should come with this option.

No SMS lock feature. This is extremely useful when there are no Wifi or 3G active connections, whether because the user has a economizer profile that disables data when no demanded or because it's a place with no signal coverage for 3G, or wifi is existent but key encrypted.

I am having a nightmare of a time with the new Samsung Galaxy S 2, on AT&T. Initially it would not connect to Exchange 2010 using the built in account connector. A week later that now works, having changed nothing on my end. Now it connects OK, but will only allow me to set up a complex password on the device to unlock it [no PIN / swipe etc.] despite using the same policy as everyone else. On another Android I have [Atrix 4G] I can use the finger print reader, pin code & swipe pattern and switch between them fine. Our older WinMo 6.5 phones are working fine with pin numbers only. I am using the same Active Sync policy. The phone is set to lock after 10 minutes of inactivity, and I don’t want to leave it much longer than that if I can avoid it.
Ultimately I need to be able to set it up to do the swipe pattern, or at least the PIN number, some of our users need to make phone calls in the car & a complex password is not going to fly. I need the phone to sync with exchange for email, contacts, calendar & tasks, as well as the security features like full encryption & remote wipe [a must] and the recover lost password & failed logins functionality.
Any recommendations?

I created a separate Exchange ActiveSync policy. Enabled AN passwords and allow simple passwords. Rebooted devices & sysnc'd. Both were required to enter complex passwords. On the GS2 the only option was the complex password. On the Atrix the only options were the complex password & the fingerprint reader [though a complex password was required as the backup in case fingerprint was not available].
Removed requirement for AN password, still allowing simple passwords. Rebooted devices & sync'd. Now the Atrix will allow for a PIN, password & fingerprint. The SG2 will still only allow for a password.

Removed password requirement completely [no Encryption or anything]. Rebooted devices & sync'd. Now both devices will allow for a PIN, password & nothing as well as the fingerprint on the atrix.
Turned encryption & simple password back on & now it requires a password on GS2, pin, password or fingerprint on the Atrix.
It seams that to enable encryption on the galaxy s 2 you must also use a complex password. :-(

If you enabled background data at any point, you would know that 3G and 2G networks are only used when wifi is not connected. By turning it off when wifi is off would effectively make your data connection and plan redudant.

Actualy, this is not a bad and dum question, these days, that many people have limited data, I really don't want my apps and other stuff on the background access the interent and I prefer these to get done on wifi, specialy market which I really don't want it to access the internet and check for updates while I'm driving, I would like this to get done when I'm on wifi, I noticed that my phone used 10 MB / day even if I don't use it myself.

You can use DroidWall to get an exhaustive control over apps. Really easy to use, and you can decide app by app if they can get internet acces on 3g, wifi, 3g and wifi or not at all.

I've tried each of these suggested options, but none of these have I found satisfactory.
The problem is that one wants to be able to retrieve and send MMS messages, without other data being exchanged (at least in my contract in Sweden, MMS messages are included in the contract, and is not counted as regular data. I'm guessing your contract is under the same premises...). So that rules out the option os switching off the 3G network.
Next, the problem with DroidWall in this situation, is that there is a 0.4kb data leak through the firewall every time the Wi-Fi successfully connects to a wireless network. Don't ask me how or why (I used two or three different apps to ensure that this was the case). Even if this data amount was fairly small, I wasn't satisfied, since I pay a correlating fee for every byte sent or recieved by my phone, and I wanted all other data stopped.
The solution I finally came to was simpler than I imagined. I altered the API (or APN) settings in the "mobile networks" menu found in the network settings in the device menu. I simply accessed the settings for my account and changed API-type (APN-type), so that it only said "MMS" (erase "default" and "supl"). The only flaw with this option is that one has to fill out "default" in this Space again if one actually desires to use 3G data for some reason. Anyway, this has worked solidly for me for a couple of months (no data leaks).

I have an HTC ONE S, and I hoping someone can recommend an App for a very specific situation.
Recently, my employer switched to a Guest access Wi-Fi. Basically, when I walk into the office in the morning, all my settings and passwords are still saved to login to the corporate network; however in order to connect to the network I have to open my web browser, a web page will load listing the conditions governing the use of the corporate WI-Fi, and I need to click on the Accept button on the page. I'm then connected to the network. So far, so good.
Here is where I'm hoping for assistance: I typically leave the phone charging on my desk. I'll check it periodically throughout the day (or if I receive a text). The problem is that the network must sense a lack of activity after a certain amount of time. At which point, I'm no longer connected to the network and must then open up my web browser again, Accept the conditions of use again, at which point I'm logged back onto the network.
Is there an application I could install that would automatically generate some sort of activity to keep me logged into the network? I have the weather app that come stock on the HTC One S; however the smallest update interval the app allows is one hour. I thought that might have been a possible solution, but along with the 1 hour time interval, I'm unsure if it is web browser activity or of any sort of network activity that is required to stay logged in?
If this is helpful: I have Automagic installed and I've used Tasker in the past but I'm not well versed in writing scripts for Tasker.

I did root the phone as there is no SD Card slot on this phone, and I removed the bloatware to free up some space.

On the most of the android phones by default, informing the user all the saved WiFi password it will be sync with your google account. In case of change the phone or reset the phone, user are able retrieve them by input the g-mail user and password and bring back the saved WiFi network on the android device.
Most of the time this feature, it is work fine but not always.
It happen for me recently! I just saw all my saved network has been disappear, I try all possible option (safe-mode/ set account on a new phone/ restore my phone/ contact google support 2 times)
Even the google support can't figure it out how it been erased
Google final answer it was "it might was some technical issue while synchronizing with the cloud"
I try to put some of the WiFi pass again, but even after it there is no options on the android or google dashboard to see the new WiFi pass has been sync or not.
Basically the information about WiFi password it has been collected from user but there is not any report to the end user about it!
The password is should reachable again same as the saved password in the google chrome or the history of location/search in all other services...
but
1- The SSID/pass is not retrievable from google account.
2- In Google dashboard is not show at least like names of the saved network.
3- Google is not even tell the user number of the saved WiFi network.
It should be a way to monitor this sync process and make sure it's working in proper way!

I'm searching an app (possibly open source) to remotely locate my phone, take photos (I mean from the camera, not stored photos) and display SIM number.
All communications should be encrypted and data should NOT pass through remote server (the server may be useful just for the initial connection but later data should travel directly).

You will have to make the app on your own.
Yes a few apps do this. Heck Google has one but in I think. (they are all useless as the first thing that is done when it is stolen is the Sim card is removed. Bypassing all security.)

Just a side note. Security is a myth. If someone what's your info they will get it and there is nothing you can do about it. Just be glad that 99.9% private info is completely worthless.

Well then I would setup your own server (not really hard with an old pc) even then the data will go through what ever server is supplying the connect. Like cellular networks or the wifi connection.
It is just an idea but maybe the phone itself can act as server when it receive a specific request from GCM.
There isn't any need of something always active, it can just activate on request using GCM I think.
