Rooted. Now what? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Just rooted. First order of business is TB. Now what though. Not really into overclocking. I'd like to freeze some stuff. I need to find that Note specific spreadsheet.

TB - Titanium backup - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5rZXJhbWlkYXMuVGl0YW5pdW1CYWNrdXAiXQ..
Freeze some apps that are not necessary that run in the background that take up CPU and ram cycles. There is a spreadsheet that's floating around that tells you the safe and not safe apps to freeze/remove. Search the i717 parent thread for "spreadsheet"

CM9 vs FOXHOUND PsychoMantis

I have just switched from my Photon to the GSII. I have finally got the hang of rooting and ROM flashing on the GSII and now I am trying to decide what ROM to flash. I would really appreciate to know who is using what and why? Thanks.
both are the best in each category " my opinion "
foxhound the best in samsung roms
hydrogen is the best in aokp roms
so it is personla now but i think aokp hydrogen is giving you more customize options , like system ui , nav bar , you can customize every thing , but i think it uses more battery than samsung roms , but i can easily get 1 day and may be 5 hours of my phone with mid-hard usage with neak kernel or thoravukk kernel

No you should not remove your reply, you where doing what XDA likes their members to do and that is be helpfull, it is not up to members of XDA to decide what a banned thread should be, that is down to the Mod's to decide.

Sorry. Iv never heard of this being against xda policy before. We even use POLLs of ROMs on the Motorola Photon 4G section. Guess SG2 is a bit more strict. I generally find these posts very usefully to have people compare and contract ROMs to one another so that I can make a decision on what ROM is most likely to appeal to me. I understand that their is no best ROM.
P.S. I would appreciate it if you could cite the source the officially bans "best rom what rom" posts. Thanks.

[Q] CyanogenMod9 and Touchwiz

Hey,
some folks made me think about CyanogenMod9 as it is supposed to be better than stock.
But when I saw CyanogenMod9 I noticed it looks differently compared to the stock I mean especially some features which I like.
This is why I'd like to ask if some of them are available in CM9 and if they're part of TouchWiz would it be possible to install such features as external app (or mod).
Is in CM9 such look of dialer?

What about feature when you are in the contacts and can just slide right\left for SMS\Call? (green field on the picture)
Would Call window look same?
Overall those are TouchWiz features which I like and for me are "a must". But i'd like to try CM9 too
The last question regards camera - often in custom roms camera is really piece of crap compared to the stock ROM.
Can you say CM 9 camera is at minimum level of stock ROM camera quality? Doesn't it have many crashes and bugs?
Thx
1. Depends on Rom (but you always able to have this feature with exDialler, love it)
2. Depends on Rom.
There is a lot of new kernels that provides you "dual-boot" feature in CWM so after installing such kernel you will be able to experiment without worries.
Also you always able to create a backup from CWM menu and return to your previous ROM if you do not like new one.

Hello,
You can look for a list of best roms here in XDA or I recommend Salman ROM .. Its just amazing !!!
Take care ..
you want straight simple answer, skip cm9 and use stock.
detail: nothing wrong in using stock/touchwiz rom, its people who dont like touchwiz are one who will say use cm9 blaa blaa, if you tried it and missing touchwiz go back to it.

So that means I cannot install Touchwiz over custom rom?
I hate pure ICS dialer and camera. Samsung's ones are much better :E
So use the stock touchwiz ROM.
You can try the galaxy s3 Touchwiz on cm9 if you want, but it won't change the dialer.

Slim series ROMs for SHAKIRA.Inspired from the famous SLIM ROMS by tchaari for high end devices.
Major advantages
1.Lesser RAM usage
2. Due to less RAM consumption, phone tends to be more alive and less laggy(no laggy is the word!)
3. Overall performance increase by around 3-4 times.
4. These lite ROM's along with any script like Adrenaline Engine, can boost your performance even further
5. Better battery life.
6.Use it like a daily driver!
and lastly the size.I bet it's real slim indeed. CM9-77MB!!!

So you are developing for a device which you even dont own? How do you expect me to use this then?
The same way he expects other users to use it. Test and report. Post useful stuff or don't post at all. I can understand that you are concerned about your device, nut you can't brick it by flashing a ROM. If you're scared anyway create a backup. Hope you don't find this rude.

[MOD] Battery History XXL v0.4

This module increases the number of records in the stock settings Battery History. It is usually limited to 10 records so this module increases it to 30.
There are far better/detailed usage reporting apps but for some reason I also keep using the stock Battery History.

[Q] A reliable ROM

Hi,
I see that the fellow developers are doing some great work here. I have an HTC One X+ running on the stock ROM 4.2.2. I want to upgrade to Kitkat 4.4 but i'm very skeptical and not certain about choosing any specific custom ROM.
My requirement is no bloatware or any extra processes running in the background. I just want alot of free RAM, speed and full exploitation of my TEGRA 3 GPU to get the best gaming performance from the device. I really am not able to determine which custom ROM would be the best for me.
Any kind of help will be highly appreciated.
Best regards.

Try AOKP ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516863
Or OmniROM (Home Made Version don't try the knightly) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x2/orig-development/omnirom-4-4-t2833119
What about stability, reliability and all the functions. Let me know your personal experience with the ROMs.
