Well I loaded in the new sprint rom last night, and now my phone is completely useless. The radio has major problems, my signal goes from nothing to 4 bars, back and fourth, and the phone goes into permanent sleep mode when I let it sit. I found this out when I woke up this morning and missed 10 calls from a client havign an emergency overnight... wonderful. I have it sitting here on the desk, and it will go to sleep and require a reset every hour or so.
I haven't had any of those problems.
WM6 lag is basically gone now and the keyboard lag is gone.
Everything is WAY more responsive and the memory leaks seem better so far.
The memory "leak" / Cacheing is more managable, and the device isn't as laggy.
I've had no problems at all. I'm loving it.

my MOGUL also goes into Perminant sleep if I let it sit.
i've had to take out the battery about 4 times just today.
anyone know why this could be?
Me too
Got the same problem installed last night. Woke up got into the car and checked phone sleeping had to soft start. Then same thing at least 3 times today. Also watched a short video in MP and it was show a few sec then sleep. Soft start and then you could watch it. Seems like after being on for a couple of hrs phone runs out of memory or something a freezes up?

Check your power setting setup, maybe it's set to turn the device completely off after 1min etc... For some reason my phone never shut off even if I let it set idle for more than 30 mins like it was set to do. Perhaps with the ROM update it actually does what it's supposed to now. Just an idea.
it's not supposed to TURN OFF as in shut down, it's just supposed to sleep. and it never comes out of sleeping mode. i've had numerous other problems, with bluetooth, etc... going back to Colonels rom, which was much more dependable.

i too loaded it yesterday as well, but i want to wonder if you did a hard reset before you installed the rom. i did it, and it gave me no problems at all with radio version 1.47.00... oh, and the phone automatically cuts off when the alarm goes off while you charge it overnight (a big no-no, but you probably know this as well, but i ain't mad at ya). if you got anything, feel free to PM me. thanks in advance.

Mine's still leaking, badly too.
Any of you try to use BT on this new rom?
If you did you'd know that this rom is worthless
-mark
The culprit appears to be the 1.47 radio. The 1.47 radio coupled with any rom version will experiance sleeping, bt and other problems.... so I am rolling back to 1.40 radio to see how it acts
As a tech in a corporate sprint store, i'd be interested in the details behind this "sleep mode" issue. What are ppl running? How can I, in the store, reproduce the problem? Is it reproducable on command or guaranteed, or is it hit or miss?
As I've said, I have the new Rom and Radio, and have no new issues, and the memory "leak" / cache issue isn't gone, but its definetly not as bad, the OS even seems to have a SLIGHTLY smaller ram foot print... maybe just a few megs smaller, but smaller on my device.

I tried that. The 1.40 radio with the new ROM still had all the new bugs.
D-pad cutting in and out...
I have found that if I push the power button to put the phone to sleep when it stops working, then turn back on, the d-pad works again. This seems to get it back to working. I wish that they could just get it right...
Jim
How do you get the new ROM?
I haven't updated yet, plan to over the weekend, but I would suggest anyone having problems to stop and consider their setup first...
What programs are installed that could cause problems?
What registry hacks have been done that may cause problems?
What configuration settings might need reset that may cause problems?
For example, after a hard reset, Enhanced Network over USB is enabled by default, and this often causes Active Sync to have issues. Likewise, power management tweaks will have reverted to defaults and you may like a more finely tuned setup.
As for memory leaks being better/worse, you may have programs installed that are out of date/buggy.
I realize it's easier to jump on the "this sucks" bandwagon, but it doesn't help you or other users with legitimate problems when no consideration is given to what is causing a given problem.
These situations are precisely why the instructions tell you that EVERYTHING will be erased. This is a good thing since it forces you to clean house, but it also means you have to pay attention to those things you often neglect or may have changed ages ago and forgotten.
Finally, if all else fails, try the ROM update again. Sometimes things go wrong.
Sorry if this seems like a rant, I just want people having issues to place blame where it truly belongs. After considering these matters, if you still have problems, definitely let HTC and the rest of us know.
Best Regards,
Aaron
Sorry, it's not anybody's installed programs. The bugs show up with nothing else but the bare ROM.
It's a train wreck.

Basically, on a stock ppc-6800 phone with nothing else installed, the BT keeps shutting off.. For me whenever a call comes in or after using my headset for a few minutes on an outgoing call...

Clean rom, nothign changed at all, it sucks, clearly. We are the beta testers obviously, as usual, with most products today
I installed the new ROM after backing up with SPB Backup, then installed my backup file back on and I haven't noticed any issues. I don't use bluetooth however, so I can comment on that. But, I haven't had the sleep issue others are describing either.
Ok, this is not some whining thread about the x10, so if you want to whine, go somewhere else...
Now that's the disclaimer out of the way...
Is anyone finding their x10 is just getting worse on 1.6...?
I never had any real issues except the occasional freeze, which now seems to have partially resolved itself, but now the following issues are starting to creep in, which I have never ever had before (these have all started in the last week or so)
Phone will just hang up when I'm in the middle of a conversation
Mobile Data seems to just not want to connect/turn on
Widgets seem un-responsive - they often don't recognise that I'm tapping them
Phone reboots by itself
Incredible sluggishness (like 10 seconds to respond) to certain events
I'm not asking if you've had these kind of issues for ever - all phones seem to have some stupid quirk that stops them working properly (mine was freezes) - I really want to know if any one else's phone has just recently started to deteriorate on its own (I haven't dropped it, rooted it, changed it, kicked it or anything)
I'm just hoping that when my carrier 2.1 comes along, these things will fix themselves...

I've always had these problems since i installed 2.1, i've been waiting for it to go away Well actually I've only had the last issue, ie sluggishness
With 2.1, I'm sure that most of your issue will be fixed
I rarly get lagg; I only get lag when I'm running like 10-15 different applications as once!
Only thing that sucks about xperia though is that there is WAY to much BLUE on it
But I'm sure you'll be happy with 2.1
My main concern is that these things have crept up just recently... it's just odd...
CAnt connect through my PC anymore via cable, also very sluggish.

You're on 2.1 though... could be to do with your update - I'm talking about 1.6 just getting worse...
Unless, of course everything was fine when you updated, and now it starting to get worse...
I've had some unresponsiveness while clicking widgets or accessing the menu
Camera seems to be slower when trying to access
think so far it's all
Yeah, the same thing has been happening to me for the last couple of weeks. Phone has been freezing, acting oddly or slow, and rebooting on its own.
The big disclaimer here is that I'd recently updated a bunch of my apps, so I figured the issue may lay with one of those, and with 2.1 coming shortly (hopefully, Rogers!), I can't be bothered uninstalling then one by one to see if I'm right. If the issues continue post-2.1, then I'll have to start tinkering.

So 2.1 has finally arrived. After flashing it using the Global Flash-tool version as I have a Dutch branded X10i it seemed extremely slow, at first I waited and waited. No result.
After checking with 'Android System Info' and 'System Panel' the CPU usage is between 99% and 100%. Constantly!
It's strange that no process is using 100%, at some point 'acore' is using 100%, not all the time.
Is anyone else having the same problem? Lag anyone? Check your CPU usage!
I've all-ready re-flashed and rooted twice. Same issue...

Fixed it!
1. Updated with Flashtool
2. Formated SD and removed all pictures (1000+)
3. Factory reset
4. Restore with PCC 2.0
5. Factory reset
6. Format SD
NO MORE LAG!
Hello everyone,
To be honest, it's been some time since I've been here, back when I knew how everything on this forum worked...
I kinda forgot, so I'm just posting this HELPME!? thread
This is my problem:
About 1.5 years ago I downloaded a ROM, and put it on my phone, and it was working just fine. However, 3 weeks ago it became really annoying, i'll explain what my problem was:
My phone would randomly freeze when i was doing things, these things could vary from "sending a text message" to "opening my 4th opera tab".
After that it wouldn't respond unless I reset it. However, when starting up again after resetting it would do a few possible things.
1. It's freeze at the first startup screen.
2. It's keep switching between unlock and "pin-screen", and when it was working again, it'd freeze.
3. It'd start up, and after about 5 seconds buzz like 5 times, then freeze.
When i left it on frozen the battery and phone would turn very hot as well =(
So, I tried a hard reset, but that didn't work.
After that i went to the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
I followed the instructions, installed the right Radio (2.12.50), and installed the ROM ( Energy.Leo.21916.Sense2.5.NLD.Cookie.2.0.Jul.07.7z ).
I remembered how to intall these things, so I think i've done that right.
So, after that it seemed to be working fine, and I was really proud and happy.
Now my phone has frozen again, and starting up was an issue again...
Does anyone know what my problem is? And what would be even better, what i can do to solve it?
Please let me know <3
Adios <3
Little Update:
So, I've been carrying my HTC HD2 around with me again, and then it started again...
It froze when I tried to send a text, and after that would freeze or vibrate (a few times) during the start-up...
It's really anoying =( If I'd have to estimate my phone's uptime a day...
It used to be 24h a day, now it's more like... 4 hours a day, with 2/3 hours of trying to get it working :Z
That could be hardware related. Possibly processor overheating. I would download the latest stock rom and fash it to see if it sorts the problem. If not it will need to be sent of to HTC to be replaced.
Hey!
One week ago, I bought my Archos G9 and since then my device crashes around 7-8 times a day. I have the newest firmware with root enabled on my device and disabled everything I could imagine (window animations, gps, etc.).
I have know idea why it crashes. There is no special pattern. One moment it crashes during browsing, the other while playing doodle jump, etc. Maybe it's because of the 512MB RAM? I already put a swap file on my device, but it didn't help at all...
hope you can help!
Ram has nothing to do with crashes. Try rooted firmware without custom busybox, download in Modified Init thread (custom busybox seems to be responsible for quite some problems)
tapatalked from Desire
thanks for reply!
My device is already running on this custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480906
EDIT: Seems like there is something wrong with the CPU... while performing the SetCPUs stresstest, my device crashed. Is it a general Archos G9 problem, or a specific problem with my device? I also noticed, that the back gets relativly hot... This happens only while i charge it.

When i first bought mine it also crashed every now and then and what i did was a full reset from the settings . Since then no more crashes on apps , so give it a try
If u dont need it, make sure bluetooth and gps are off, that always seemed to help me

I've had mine for 10 days now. I haven't rooted it yet - it's running the stock 3.2.80 firmware.
For the first 4 or 5 days, it seemed fairly stable - odd reboots, but nothing too bad.
Now, it won't stay running for more than 2 or 3 minutes from reboot before it freezes and I have to long-press the power button to shut it down. Sometimes it just reboots on it's own. But after each reboot, it stays running for less time than the last. If I let it lie down for a few hours, it will return to running for 2 or 3 minutes before freezing or rebooting again.
Mine also seems to get pretty warm on the back.
I've tried getting an RMA number from the Archos website, but that page doesn't work (shows a MySQL error!). Had to resort to emailing their support team a couple of days ago, but still waiting for any response.
I wish I had bought it from Play.com instead of direct from Archos - at least I could have returned it easier. All in all, I'm not very impressed so far.
BTW, I did do a full, factory reset, but it's made no difference.
Nothing worked, i already deactivated GPS and bluetooth and did a factory reset too.
I think I'll wait for the ICS update and hope, that archos will fix the problem... I don't think it's a hardware issue...
Try 3.2.79 version, IMO it works overall better than 3.2.80 but I can't test 3g stick. Wifi however behaved better on .79.
Note- you can't downgrade official firmware (AFAIK)
I believe there is a way of downgrading official firmware - I may give 3.2.79 a go.

EDIT: Wow the issue was really REALLY stupid. turned out i was using a HUGE picture as my lockscreen wallpaper, and it was causing hang ups because I guess it was trying to load that huge picture into ram every time it went to sleep or something. change the picture, everything was fine. I'm really dumb.
My galaxy s2 has been fine pretty much since launch. Switched over to cyanogenmod a long time ago, been updating to their nightlies about once a month. Recently tho, starting like this week, my phone has been randomly rebooting like crazy, to the point that the phone is unusable. Any thing I try to do results in a soft reset. The fastest way I've found to recreate the issue is to turn on and off the screen twice quickly, causes a crash/reboot, dont know what to call this.
AFAIK I still have access to recovery, odin, etc.
I've tried flashing an older nightly, wiping cache, factory reset, still get crashes really easily. I've ruled out my micro sd card being the problem, it still randomly reboots without it. Any idea what I can do to try and narrow down what the problem is?
Do a clean install of stock in the first instance, run it for a few days & see if it persists. If it stops happening, then obviously something CM-side causing it. If it doesn't replace battery. If that doesn't fix it, take it to a local mobile repair shop for diagnosis.
