recording 60fps ???? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

the strongest fastest of all. Galaxy s III, can it record 60fps ??
i just need to know: is there a way to get more than 30fps on an android phone (like an app or a tweak) ???
long time ago i remember i had omnia HD and i could record (Slow motion)
but now it must be as easy as it can be to do so by a powerful phone like this.

Video recording in HD

Hi everybody,
Does anyone knows if there exists some apps to make movie in HD quality (720p) like for the desire????
Thank you...
That is not possible on Wildfire.
The camera isn't good enough.
Maybe is not good, but for example Nokia N5230 make a good video (640x480) with the 2MPx and Wildfire make 352x288 with the 5MPx.....Why?

There are no sources its just a rumor.

I highly doubt it will get 720p recording anyway
Maybe VGA, but no way in hell 720p. The 528mhz processor can`t process that.

I don't think that a software can do what the hardware supose to do
Maybe the overclock might help jksss
You can record on qvga and qcif resolutions on cm6, I don't know what resolutions those are exactly

Polish support HTC confirmed this information.
An overclocked Desire with a processor twice the speed of the Wildfire struggles 720p only just getting up to 20 frames per sec.
HTC promised the earth for Froyo on the Desire as well.
If you want quality video then buy a dedicated quality video device, like a camera for instance!

q...is it possible to make 720p video recording for our ace???

hi
i know this inocent and silly question ..
this thing comes in my mind when i have seen one threat on xda dev for defy about making 720p hd video recording by applying patch....
my question is whether it is possible to make HD video recording for our famous ace through any method ? ??????
is it any way to improve picture and video quality?

It is, according to the old Qualcomm developer site(2010-2011 June (RIP!) ) it had a datasheet of our chipset 720p recoding is posible at ~24 FPS so it will be slow(30 FPS is slow but optimal for video recording)
But developing it will be hard (a lot of kernel and lib mods will be needed)
And im 25% sure that samsung's camera lib sources are needed, and they are closed source.
Alternatively we can try porting S5830i(different ARMv6 chipset) HD recording to our phone too.
---------- Post added at 10:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:48 PM ----------
OK good news GT-S5830i sources are available
https://opensource.samsung.com/index.jsp
So now we can try to port its HD recording to our phone!!
MSM7227A-T =/= MSM7227-T lol
Herpderp Defy.
720p recording on a 800Mhz Processor!!!!!

It's likely not to happen.
Ace is running 800Mhz.
Even if overclocked, you need to rebuild system components for this to happen.
Means processor is not capable of recording hd frames.
Is the camera given is capable of it?

your request similar to "can we make our screen bigger ?". our cam fps is very poor for video recording. that's hardware limitation. event if it's possible the result will be more like watching slide show than watching video.
LOL...a slow motion camera for a 2MP camera? How Many frames per sec will that be? stop dreaming man we cant do much for SGY

!Video Resolutions For LWW!

Hey Guys just want to ask that which resolutions are good for converting a video for LWW??? Coz i m new here so i dont know abt that phone too much ... 1st i was on samsung galaxy mini and there was a pc suite called KIes that do this job for me easily................
Resolution: 720p or lower will work.
Format - MX Video Player plays quite a lot of formats, download it from Market if you can't play with stock player.
Best is ofc native resolution (320x480) but if you wanna play just some normal divx rips and etc and dont so much care about capacity you dont need convert
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
Okay ill try to convert on 480x320....
Why convert anyway? I watched regular 720p films fine on my LWW, without doing any converting anything.

no need to convert? please...
if you play 720p cpu is using a lot more of power! to convert this 720p on the fly to match smaller screen, and the video is using too much memory on your sdhc...
I always scale my videos to match the screen resolution, its just better!
example, if you have 720p tv show and it weights 1.1GB... and the same video with the same quality (*on cell screen!) after scaling down with avidemux to match 480x360 weights about ~300MB or less!
with scaling videos to match screen resolution i can put whole tv show season on my card

Btw guys now i trying 728 mkv lieke game of thrones or other series with lags. You got playing of 720p videos smoothly?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
720p/x264 in mkv container works just fine.
I really try few mkv in all modes mx player (soft/soft fast/hw) hw dont work for me. Here is problem? What mode you using?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
Mostly S/W or even S/W Fast when i'm watching files shared over wifi.
H/W mode is not supported for all codecs afaik. I would suggest you to go through this page, it might answer some of your questions.
Iam just confused how so many ppl here can play on same hw 720p smoothly and i just with lags. I check it later, is not so important play 720p on 480x360. I just wanna try

[Q] xperia P 1080p recording question

Ok here is the question ,
recentlly nova thor U 8500 seem like quite popular for midrange phone as the phone below use it
s advance , ace 2 , sola , xperia U / p / go
However , the only device which are able to record 1080p video is xperia P .
I wonder what make P different from other device ?
The clock speed and chip is totally same on s advance / p / u / sola
Been searching through web but no people even mention it .
The camera sensor. Obvious huh.

I am sure. The problem is not in the CPU speed. It's not that your sensor can't record 1080p, it's that it's unreasonable. When your device gets CM9, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to have 1080 too.

Haha, no.
If I stick a 2MP camera on a 512MHz MSM7227 single core device, I won't even get 720p.
And megapixels don't matter all that much, its what's in the camera sensor that does.
well 720p means just the resolution with ration 16:9,right? 1280 * 720 = 0,92 MP, 1080p = 1440 * 1080 = 1,6MP. 5mp camera is enough for both of 720p and 1080p. But I think why just P because the RAM. P has 1GB of RAM. You know, recording 1080p need a lot of processing, maybe 512GB RAM phone able to do this but I guess has a lower bit rate and graphic quality.
Hey, Xperia s can record at 1080p as well...
