Any good wallpaper zips? I need something other than the stock ICS one....any cool sources I should seek out? I thought this might be a good thread to have considering our special MASSIVE screen and distinct resolution.

Do a google search for images that are exactly 800x1280 or 799x1278 or1280x800 or 1278x799 for whatever subject appeals to you. I searched "star wars"/image/ width 799 /height 1278 and found this in the results you can find pretty much anything on Google just search it.

Hi All,
I've been wondering until now.. Why is the ROM's size of S3 (sammy ROM, not AOSP/AOKP) so big?
I mean.. the file size is around 500-600 MB..
Compared to S2, it only has around 300 MB..
I do understand that S2 and S3 have different hardware specification..
S3 also has many additional feature compared to S2 which cause bigger ROM size for S3..
But.. Does that change really cost double size of ROM as well?
Maybe someone can explain it here..
you talking bloatware, TW with features is alot more integrated so i assume it would take up MORE space. as apposed to CM9/aosp/aokp only run the bare minimum so it can supposedly run faster.
i think Sammy's roms are pretty damn good though.
im sure there is alot more detail to the whole WHY its so big though.
It soon adds up when you look at some of the /system/app file sizes SVoice alone is 30mb!
after using the search forums tool actually found the same question i was wondering myself about how large the new S3 roms were compared to something like the CM10 rom. Thanks x.mi for asking the question and to the2rrell and Lennyuk for their answers! I love this place!
Bloat-apps and the not-so-light-UI Touchwiz. If you check very lightweight ROMs in the development section, you'd find them to be around 300mb (or 250 if they're very light). AOSP ones are even smaller.
Heya Guys,
I've been trying to customise my GSIII but I'm finding it really tough to find wallpapers that take full advantage of the resolution. I've noticed that 1280 x 720 wallpapers fit perfectly and appear really sharp as lockscreen images but they are really hard to find on Google Images.
I've also heard that 1440 x 1280 should work great as my home screen wallpaper yet it appears blurry and not very sharp ... Do you guys know any good places to find wallpapers? This is really disappointing since with my old phone I could have thousands to choose from.

There was a thread here @xda in general or app section with all the 1280x720 wallpapers. A search might bring you the thread.
It was titled some "HD wallpaper collection" or something like that.. not so sure..

Try downloading the zedge app, it has lots of wallpapers and it detects the device you are using...

On my phone, no matter the resolution, the lockscreen image will always appear blurry! i had to disable the s3 ripple effect (was using stock rom then) to make it clear again.
not sure whether this would help you. Anyway back on topic, for my phone i used resolution of 1440 x 900 and they looked great
Not to use sarcastic comments but a Google search would suffice
Click the images tab and then on the left look for advanced I think it is and then you can put your own res in
Hope this helps

This is definitly the best site for HD wallpapers: http://wallbase.cc
I've got a dozens of wallpapers, and I got all of them from refined Google Images searches.
A wp that looks good ("pretty!") on the PC screen doesn't necessarily work well as a wallpaper, specially if there will be lots of icons and widgets on top if it.

If you're asking for the resolution of the Nexus 7 then it's 1280-by-800. I'm not too sure though if you're asking a more complicated question.
Install Quickpic, set wallpaper from that

might fit into your expectations
Thanks Guys ... QuickPic is wicked. Much better that stock.
But I was hoping to make a few of my own, and have no idea what the exact dimensions I would design for ...
Thanks again, this place is the best!
Hello everyone
I was almost sure that a thread like this would exist already, but after doing some searches, i did not find any.
Regarding the visual elements (not the transitions, those are fine) of the newly released official Jellybean ROM for the Xperia P, is there anyone else around here who thinks that the ICS graphics (for apps like settings, messaging, browser) looked MUCH better than the ones they used for the new update? I mean, ICS had beautiful transparent borders, JB has embossed matte grey borders. A lot of icons look like they were drawn in a hurry and poorly rendered (check the toggle switches, the I and O's are not even properly centered as they were in ICS), and that quick toggle widget ! It looks absolutely terrible. In ICS it was a big transparent block with simple buttons on it. Now it looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old who found out that photoshop can apply effects to layers.
In the last 2 years or such, UI designers have started simplifying the graphics, making them look very nice. That was the case with ICS on the xperia P, it looked gorgeous. This thing looks like crap. It looks like a 3rd party theme you would download in 2004 on your sony ericsson K310i.
"But there is more than one theme that comes with the new ROM!". Yes, but they all have the same flaws. After all, only the color scheme differs. The graphical elements are the same.
Does anyone share my opinion?
If yes, then the more important question is : Since the themes that come preinstalled can be found in the Apps section (4.0KB being the minimum storage space one file can occupy, i am not sure if they contain anything at all in that "application"), is there any possibility that devs here could port the old themes to this ROM? This might be a stupid question, in which case, you are free to reply with the noob-on-xda youtube video.
Yeah !!
another one complain, tthat all is your Opinion be happy that Sony give us JB
all look waaaaay better now then ICS, but think that Sony is not Unicef they have also ther work todo.
P.s. here you go xD
Updated version (no notch) Looks great on S4
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...er-borderlightv2-amoled-t3851383#post77818352
Another user release
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../live-wallpaper-borderlightv2-amoled-t3851383
While it looks really cool, it's not really optimized for S4. Corners especially. It would be great if someone could make a Tab S4 equivalent to that. With and without notch thing as I kind of like it being there around the clock but it won't be everyones favourite feature.
Thanks for sharing even though I've installed it prior to seeing your post.
Also, have a look at the live wallpaper I've posted in this section.
And here's screenshot of op wallpaper with unmatched corners to Tab S4 display, uneven thickness and interference with status bar icons. Shame as I'm really digging it.

Wait... developer is working on a no notch version and many other options... this is the first release...
Yeah I hope we get a versions optimized for Tab S4 and other devices. I will definitely keep an eye on it.
Also, it bothers me in its current state but some may still like and enjoy it as it is.
Search for "Shiney" live wallpaper. It Is the same black background with rainbow outline, but it adds radius and thickness adjustments without a notch.
Yeah, I have that one on my Op6..I like it and will try to reach out to the guy who built this one ...
