Ok for the 2nd time now ive uploaded a video from my S2 to Fb via the share video function to the fb app and now i cant find the video on my fone. Ive tried plugging it into Kies and i still cant see it there. This isn the 2nd unit that has lost a video after i uploaded it to fb.
Typically the video had problems uploading and took several attempts to upload. But now when i go back the the dcim or videos i cant find it anywhere. How can i get the video back? What happened to it? Thanks.
Has anybody else lost videos in the internal storage after uploading to facebook?
Not happened to me, in fact I've never used the video feature. I would be inclined to complain. Send an email to them. Go through Google play and there will be a contact dev email to click on and go from there.
Quit Facebook

I've installed Qik from market. I am abled to upload my 50+MB video to Qik. But from Qik, I cannot uploaded to FB. It said "use computer to enable FB in Qik profile". I cannot find anything from Qik profile that tells me to enable/disable FB. Any recommendations/ideas? Thanks.
Login to the qik website and you can set your links from there.
You should have been sent an email with tips etc when you signed up, this also contains the email verification link.
Pixelpipe can also post videos to facebook

The contact photos on incoming / outgoing calls has always looked terrible but now that I have full screen in my latest rom ( batista 2.8 ) its time for me to find a fix! I have taken my photos from good quality pics not facebook but that hasn't seemed to help. Sorry if this has already come up but with a search on here and google didn't come up with anything.
Thanks in advance guys!

For anyone interested it seems that syncing with Google was the issue! As soon as I stopped google contact sync and redid mu contact photos full screen is working perfectly!

I was following this issue logged on the google bug tracker on 2 separate threads. A google rep did eventually reply (the thread was a few years old by then lol). He said that this issue is adressed in ICS as the contact resolution that syncs with google contacts has been increased. So best is just to wait till we have ICS on our phone

Thanks for the update devilkin, you'd think it would have been part of the full screen contact mod? Can't believe this is the first thread to discuss the issue!

Samsung SGS2 on ICS contacts still have very poor image quality. Any fix yet?
i dont think theres a fix for it, i have the same problem.
it is only when you sync contacts from gmail the pictures are low res.
are there any other methods for keeping/syncing contacts online? google seems to suck atm.
Try this, I am not sure but if turning off google sync can help then :
1. backup contacts to sd card
2. turn off google sync
3. delete all contacts
4. import contacts from sd card.
hope it works.
I haven't tried it yet but I think it might work. Even if it doesn't it's still worth a try.
Cheers
It worked for me. I had already done this earlier.

Hi Guys,
Got myself a SIII. Rooted it and added superSU according to Chains tutorial..
I have some problems with facebook, and was wondering whether anyone can help..
Firstly, after linking the accounts. Some of the photos appear as blank. Anyone have a clue? Those that have photos, are really blur.
Also, outside app such as Whatsapp are not picking up those contact photos.
I'm moving from an HTC so i am amazed that samsung has this problem. Is there a solution such as "Facebook for HTC Sense".
Am i just doing it wrong? many thanks for any help
Hi.
Your case is the same as mine. I came from the HTC Desire HD, which all the contacts were always synchronized with Facebook, no problems with photos and etc.
I posted the same questions here a few weeks ago, and from what I got, the ICS has some compatibility issues with Facebook, that's why it sync just a few contacts and also the quality is terrible.
The solution that people told me, was to use 3rd party softwares to make this sync. There is quite a few on market that does that. Just look for "facebook photo sync".
The solution I adopted, was to set the photos of facebook for my contacts manually, and I just realized how to do that now. Since I don't have many contacts, I entered quickly on their facebook profile, went to the photo I wanted and selected the option "set as contact photo".
To enter on their contact, I was doing directly by my contact phone list (because the facebook was linked correctly... just the photo that wasn't appearing).
The quality with that also gets better and when I enter on What's App now, is everything fine.
Hope it helps!
Where'd you get that baby?

Here are two softwares that does that:
Haxsync :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm9yZy5tb3RzLmhheHN5bmMiXQ..
FriendCaster : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.senab.blueNotifyFree
Here is the topic I made with some other answers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1682103
Those two apps didnt work really well for me. The app that worked best for me was an app called "Contact Picture Sync". Did everythin i wanted.
Thanks for all the help guys
I did some searching and the only related threads I can see involve account & sign in issues which this is not. I'm not getting the error message telling me that I need to sign in. The problem I'm having is that when I attempt to upload an image to Picasa my albums are not listed where you would select an existing album to upload to. I also am unable to click the '+' symbol that allows you to create a new album to upload to. When I go into my Gallery to browse folders I can select Picasa from the drop down and all of my folders are there and my account is still sync'd in the accounts section of settings. So... it's seeing the account and the images already there no problem. The issue is with uploading specifically. I tried to un-sync and re-sync my Picasa account in settings as well as rebooting and various combinations and nothing seems to help. I'm running the stock ROM but the phone is rooted. I attempted to load the GB Gallery which is related but I don't think was the cause of this because I ran into it in the past on customer ROMs on other devices. I always just chalked it up to a bug in the ROM and never was able to solve it. Now that I'm on the stock ROM there really isn't much of an excuse for this.
Anyone have a fix or any advice for this? I use this a lot so I miss not having it when I just had it the other day.
Thanks for the help!
I've had this problem always with ICS. My main google account doesn't show the list of albums. Where my secondary one does show the coupld it has.. I have been unable to figure it out :/.
Why don't you just use auto upload in google+. It is basically doing what you want to do except it does it automatically. Auto upload creates a folder that only you can see in your picasa web albums, you can then either move the image to a public folder or just share the image via link. If you just want to share one picture you can do it via email or the google plus app as well.

I don't want to keep all of the pictures l take though. More importantly I don't see option to move the pictures to albums from the google plus app.

After further research it appears as though it's an Android bug. If you have another type of account sync'd it will confuse Picasa and you won't be able to see your folders or login/upload. For instance, say your Google account is the following email address:
[email protected]
and your DropBox account username is the same thing:
[email protected]
This will cause a conflict for some reason when it comes to Google being able to log you in and it will fail. For me I think it was my DropBox account which uses the same email as my Google account so it was causing issues. I tested this w/o having my DropBox account sync'd or even installed and w/o fail I can now access my Picasa folders and upload w/o issue.
Google needs to address this bug. That's all their is to it. This is a stupid error that shouldn't be too difficult to address and it's creating heartache for customers since most won't know why it's not working the way it just should be. It also seems that the last thing Google wants is people going back to their old email accounts for sign-in and notifications from various products. This is counter-productive for all their efforts to date.
FIX THIS GOOGLE!

That's not really the point. Android shouldn't be denying login to DropBox so that I as the consumer can use whatever services available to me that I wish to use.
I agree it's silly to have that kind of error with the same email.
I just found an app PicasaTool that lets me upload to my picasa account correctly. So for now I guess I will use that.

I'm just not comfortable giving 3rd parties my username and password so I will just change my Dropbox email and use the built in functionality with this as a workaround until such time that Google sees fit to address this bug.
Understandable. It doesn't ask for UN/PW by the way. It just uses the coin authentication thing.

I use PhotoSync by Akira soumi.
Simple app that syncs at a time I specify (8am) so that my dcim folder on phone, dcim on tablet and picasa are all three synced everyday

Several months further and on ICS (4.0.4) it wasn't fixed. JB is coming for my phone (SGSII) this month. Let's hope JB fixes this bug.
For now my solution is: changed the email of my dropbox and deleted facebook apps, doing everything on the mobile website now.
Hey guys, today I took a video with my SGSIII with the stock photo app. Later on I tried to email it with Gmail app, but the video was 40mb and of course was too big to be emailed.
With my previous phone, an iPhone 4s, when I was trying to email a video, it was asked me if I wanted to shrink it automatically.
Anything like that on the Samsung? How to email a video otherwise?
Cheers!
