Hi guys. I'd like to have stock camera UI in ROM I'm using now. I have tried som things like installing .zip file via CWM which contained renamed SemcCameraUI.apk to Camera.apk .. but now it doesn't work I am using this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1666177

I am also curious if this can be done, I also prefer the Xperia UI over this. Have you found anything yet?
By the way, if you happen to use skype, does your camera work on video call? I can't make mine work on video call.

im currently using cm 10.1 on p769 (tmobile) but i find that the generic camera app is lacking quality ...is it possible to use the stock jelly bean camera app that originally came with the phone ?/ would i need libs from original rom ? or woould the apk be enough ....and if some one would be so kind as to back it up for me and upload it ,,,i dont feel like flashing stock just to get the apk and flash back to cm 10

It would do no good. CM10 is probably deodexed, right? So it would be a pain. That's just my opine.

Why would you want to? I mean, technically, you can do anything with a rooted droid. But I find CyanogenMod superior in every way, espescially when it comes to updates. Besides, the stock camera app wouldn't blend as well with CM's UI. That's just my two cents. If you want to get that camera app running just ask me though and I can try to help you get a deodexed version I guess.
Hello there. I to would like to use stock camera on CM 10.1 or 10.2
My point is that on stock camera app videos recorded in worse light are smooth. On CM they are cutting.
CM is deodexed, and stock is not. If i'm right. But there are deodexed and modified ROMs (Jellycream)
If I install CM and delete/uninstal app camera/gallery and put in its place stock apps would it be working ?
What files do I need ?

CM camera code are in Gallery.apk, I think you don't want to touch it. Just add CameraApp.apk to /system/app/ if you want to try to port it. But I and other people have tried that before but no success. You also need lge-res.apk in /system/framework/ to run LG camera. Maybe I miss some lib the last time I tried.

Other question - mayby there is a way to, or modified camera app, or other camera app where video recording doestn lag like on CM cam. On stock video recordings are smooth in any light condition, but on CM its terrible.

I got stock rom files.
How i can fix that camera problem?!? On stock rom camera worked well.
Can i transfer camera file (etc.) on this my new rom?!?

Camera worked fine at stock rom. When i try to enter now in custom mod, it says cannot connect to camera.

The issue is for your custom rom camera, u can do 3 things:
1. search for camera mod for CyanogenMod 7
2. install other camera app from market and uninstall roms camera
3. flash other custom roms based at ics

search and download for your rom (Ics or jb) true camera app, install root explorer, copy apk file to system/data and reboot. done.

same problem with my galaxy j 5
installed custom marsmallow official russia rom
didnt liked it cause phonne was lagging
so downgraded to the official stock rom of galaxy j5 ( after tonns of issues like boot lag etc)
now every thing works fine except for the camera and the file explorer
i cant get access to the sd card also cant record a video....

Hii I have the same problem but different phone and different rom
I have installed resurrection remix in my lyf ls 5010 phone . When I install the stock rom.it works fine but in custom rom front camera is not shown in any camera app even if there is a option to change camera from rear to front after tapping the button apps crash.video recording is not working too. rear camera works fine though.
Same issue, flashed a rom and camera app works but other apps that needs camera doesn't work like whatsapp Instagram edit app's camera
I want to dive deeper and learn whats causing this issues

The rom may have some bugs. Ask the rom developer whether the solution has been provided or else ask him to make one.
There are many camera apps on google play but afaik none of the apps behaves/works like stock camera app.
You can try replacing the camera application of your custom rom with the stock rom. You can get more information on Google as well as XDA.
If still it doesn't solve, flash stock rom and use.

I don't own your device.
If you have taken backup of your /system of your stock rom, you can get the apk file. If it has odex file, make sure you deodex it before replacing the file. Read tutorial at Google and XDA on how to deodex the apk.
Orelse if you have not got stock backup, browse through your device's specific forum on xda and there you get that stock rom or any other custom which is stable and bug free camera app. Download the best and use it.

I guess the fix would come through gerrit
if you have been using any other KITKAT Based custom roms for this device , which has the camcorder working , pull the camera.apk from that rom ( using root browser,or any root file manager file app,go to system,app,find the camera.apk, copy it and replace it with the rom which does not have video recorder working( cm11 in your case ) . This is what I do with ROMs which have bugs or faults . Sorry if this seems to be a rather , wrong or " illegal" method but it seems to be the only option available right now until the official ROM get the bug fixed . Thanks a lot and all the best !

Yes.From any other ROM which has a working camera.I have attached below the camera2.apk from CyanAOSP ROM which has a fully functional camera , video recorder.Use Root Browser and replace the existing camera.apk with the file file i have attached and set permission to rwrr. Hey, I am using CM 13 Rom and since all camera apps are such a trash I would like to use stock Honor 7 camera. Can you please someone post the APK file if it is possible? Thanks
Edit: after some research I found out that camera app need some pther libraries. Does anyome of you have a flashable zip? + Does anyone has compass app (same as camera - flashable zip)?
Stock camera app is yet to be ported. Don't know about compass though.

The app name is Camera. Have u tried to search the app in the app drawer ? How bout Apps in settings? If the zip file is flashed n installed correctly then it should appear in apps in settings. Btw, the rom u used is based on which kernel version? Like B380 or B330. Maybe the zip file i provided is for different version

Yeah, perhaps. Btw, i flashed mine on cm style by wbt. If im not mistaken, cm roms have a few minor problems like camera and wifi right? Is it stable already for daily use?

cm style by wbt is a stock based rom. It's EMUI which aims to look like cm.
I used free cm rom by papsi as a daily for a few weeks and it was plenty stable for daily use (if you don't mind inferior battery life to emui). Wifi worked fine, the camera was buggy.

It's nearly impossible to port the stock EMUI camera to other stock based ROMs, because of closed source code and - as you mentioned before - due to the fact that the libraries causig problems. The camera from the Honor 7 is simply too deep interested into EMUI. :silly:
