I cannot access the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) on my Xperia Neo MT15i.
i am currently using Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC2. it does work when i was using stock rom before this but after i use cyanogenmod, i cannot access it anymore.
after i type *#*#7378423#*#* on the dialer, the number vanished but nothing pops out. but i can access the *#*#4636#*#*.
i also try the button combination menu>back>back>menu>back>menu>menu>back on lockscreen but it does not work either. is this normal on custom rom?

+1 same here (but x10 mini)
same with me, i can't open "service menu" with dial *#*#7378423#*#*
any other way to open "service menu" ?
Yes, it's normal on custom roms. They don't have service menu app and even if they had I'm not sure if it would work with any dialer except stock one.
Never extracted stock dialer so don't know if custom one needs to be edited to call service menu.
You should try re-installing service menu. I can attach apk file by tomorrow. Tell me if you want.

And all stock app's can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540066
I have not got any problem like this, but I am sure that this will help.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling system apps.

You used custom rom which is not stock-based and service menu worked?
I don't like installing any ROMs, I just try to make my phone run fast by modifying the stock ROM and removing unwanted things.
But once I have installed a ROM, not sure which one, and my service menu was opening.

This iOS themed messaging app is taken from the chinese JoyOS: http://www.joyui.net/
SCREENSHOTS: see attachments below
The original app only supports english and chinese, I added all languages available in cyanogenmod (but few words are still in english, only italian is fully translated).
I've tried it on cm7.2 and works very well, but i think that should work in every LDPI/MDPI device with a gingerbread rom.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Flash zip file in recovery.
2) Reboot & Enjoy!
It is advisable to make a copy of the original mms.apk in case that this app didn't work on your rom. If you are on cm7.2 you can just flash "undo.zip" to return to the original application.
If you liked my work, please hit the THANKS button!

Do you believe that this will work on cm 11?
Also, have do I make a flashable zip of the stock messaging app? I know where to find it in the system folder, but if I were to add it back, what way would I go about doing that?

1. Omega V26.1 JB
2. Android Revolution 10.0.0
if you have other choice do mention that Rom with link also
Thanks in Advance
Aditya
Wipe data/cache/dalviks will not wipe internal memory. But accident do happens, so always backup important files.
Best rom discussion is banned. Anyway you can try the official JB (LIB).
You can always download to latest official firmware from Samsung through checkfus and flash using odin.

View attachment 1570379
You need root access on your phone if you want turn it off.
Download attached .zip file, unpack it and put custom_settings.xml in "/system/etc/customization/settings/com/android/phone/" folder (if u don't have phone folder just create it), Set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and reboot your phone.
Enjoy and don't forget to hit THANKS button.

It IS possible to take ss via power menu.
You need to enable it in the settings.
I remember using it back when I was using CM10.1 so it is possible.
Look at: setting -> system (not sure about this one - I haven't used CM10.1 for a long time) -> power menu

Of course it's rooted. Name one non-stock based rom which is not rooted.
Go to developer options using the method above. Then change root access to apps + adb. Some users say just simply changing it to apps works, try it.

Then maybe post up in the Slim (unofficial) thread. Make sure to say that you've also switched to apps+adb, as that's what will be thrown at you otherwise.
