Right, this is a dev thread. If you can't use apktool and don't know about resizing, please leave now, or browse and don't reply unless you REALLY need to. Thank you
Now, as that's over here we go:
I'm attempting to build a team of people to help resize the latest bases from the various full Sense 4 devices (though the Ville C and its Sensation ports seem to be the best in terms of this) to lower resolution phones, such as the Desire HD, S and Z. This will also be useful for you people porting it to the Nexus S and other 480*800 devices.
What do we need to resize?
Rosie
Widgets for rosie to take into account the resize
Framework for full sense's multitasking
Music
SystemUI for full sense's multitasking
Stuff we need to re-align (is partially resized)
Desk Clock
Stuff to fix:
Idlescreen (lockscreen items)
Sources to resize from:
OrDroid from the Sensation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551714
Any One S ROM
Any VilleC ROM base or RUU
Bump. Would help a lot of us.
@Quinny899 - This told could help us. I tried it but my Ubuntu is really old and messed up. Maybe you'll have some success.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1491689
I'll add my two cents, if you can resize rosie correctly there is absolutely no need to resize widgets but without new m10 tools to edit sense 4 files more easily, I'm not waisting anymore energy one it. But apps themselves should be easy enough, at least that's what sbryan12144 keeps telling me as you can see i went too small

Sorry bud, i must reserve the right to not post my work for right now. Not cause i don't want to share it, but because its not done and not to my standards. Its just a demo, we have full sense ported, just waiting for tools to resize rosie properly, less someone smarter does it first
We also have (and still do) it ported, but the old resized Rosie isn't compatible with the new base, which is why I opened this project

I'll keep an eye on this thread I tried using VTS, realized the M10 tools are missing Can anyone tell me how to resize without the M10 tools?? I'll try my best, just need to know what to do....
Oh, the widgets seem fine in this ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676683 Most of the Rosie touch points are heavily screwed up though....
One last thing, Music and Gallery need resizing too.

I had a go to nexify and slim down Modaco's Desiree ROM
So i removed:
All HTC widgets
Rosie
HTC dialer
HTC calendar
HtC stockr
HTC weather
And loads other stuff,
added
modded launchers
Wysie's Contacts
Modded some icons and statusbar drawer
CorpCal
and some more bits and pieces
Modaco et al shall have all cred for the desire ROM.
Have a go and report your findings.
And remember: it's alfa based on a alfa...

is it not possible to get the desire rom and only disable rosie?
but keeping the widgets such as the mail, music player, calender etc...?
also, does this ROM include the nice select text feature similar to the desire rom?

I try to nexify the the desire rom. All htc apps is heavily integrated to the desire frame so i guess its difficult to get them running in stock nexus roms
does Flash Work? also, does "more soon" mean the ROM isn't ready for us to flash yet? I don't see a download link.
i also noticed that desire has better exchange integration. if anyone figures out a way to get the exchange apk or mail apk or whatever controls that onto a cyan rom that would be great.
I'm definitely interested in what you come up with!
Why not just use a homescreen replacement...like Home++ so you don't have most of SenseUI? The apps aren't drastically different, the biggest difference is the homescreen imo.

Few reasons: Speed, Home++ and other home replacement have issues and features i dont like. And its fun to mod android
Update: still working to solve some graphic glitches in my morph.
I will post a step by step guide (still noob) to nexify a deisre rom.
Maybe i will post a barebone stipped ROM if anyone wants it.
For those who like Htc home launcher here is a modded version to work on the samsung vibrant. simple and works great . its an apk . just install it.

Unfortunately guys this isn't a flashable theme.
I have been messing around with the Honeycomb look for the last week.
I've had some requests to share how I achieved the look so here goes.
Some of these are going to be paid apps, but lets support our devs!
First up screenies and there's a bunch

First up you're going to need Launcerpro plus. Once you have paid for it go to Signals23's thread and download his Honeycomb theme here. That will get you the messaging, agenda, bookmarks, Friends, etc...widgets. You will want to set up 5 columns on your homescreens in the LPP settings. These widgets will need to be resized just longpress and resize to fit your look.
Next for the honeycomb clock at the bottom of my homescreen you will need one more clock widget from here.
The weather widget is just Beautiul Widgets 1x1 with the "None" weather skin.
Beautiful widgets can be downloaded from the market here for $1.96.
The battery widget is BattStatt. You can download the free version here. I recommend upgrading to the Pro version for more customization.
The analog clock is Honeycomb clock FREE which can be downloaded from the market here.
Most of my icons are from the Ares HD icon pack by Radius which can be found here.
A few of the icons are from iconspedia, so if you don't see them in Ares HD check there.
The APPS+ icon is a shortcut that I set up for my settings. The icon is an icon from Manup's Minimal Text Clean icon pack that I played with in GIMP. Here it is, if you can't see it it's there just save and move to your SD card.
Right click above this and save the image.
I am using Audio Manager Pro with the Minimal skin from Johnny Bueno found here on the market.
For my music widget I am using Music Mod which can be downloaded from the market here.
For the dock and dock icons I am using this pack created for the Evo by bizdady.
For the power controls on my notification pull shade I am using Power Control Plus which can be purchased from the market here for $2.02.
The search widget and genie widget are included in Newkidd's AwesomeROM. Special thanks go out to him and all the above mentioned devs. Man I love Android.
If you find anything else to contribute to the look or just want to share please add to the thread.
If I locate anything else or incorporate any suggestions I'll add to this post.

***I take no credit for the widgets, I just themed them slightly***
+++There is currently a size issue with the widgets if you use them in any launcher other then the default Moto Launcher. I will be correcting this over the next few days, and cleaning up this post+++
There are a lot of options for data toggles but I wanted one that would match the other Motorola Widgets.
I modded the Data Enabler Widget so it will look more like stock, it is a free app so I don't see why posting it would be against the rules but if it is please let me know and I will remove it. Screenshots and download link is below.
I was able to find a flashlight app that matches the MotoWidgets too. Its called TeslaLED Flashlight. Just thought I would share.
I added a Ringer Toggle that has been modded to look like the Moto Widgets. This is Manups original work from the G1 days, but it still works on the Photon.
I have reworked some of Manups widgets and there are 2 more to share, a brightness toggle and Auto Rotate toggle, both work great and blend in with the stock widgets.
Tomorrow I'll clean up the post and add more screenshots.

Well, i am currently using Galaxy S2. What do i need to give you so you could help out?
Sorry for the delay people life has been keeping me busy.
For the people that aren't already on moto blur and don't have the stock widgets I have a few other manup widgets I can test and theme but since each phone seems to handle some toggles differently idk if they would work on your phone/ROM.
I'll test tomorrow and see what works then get them to match in other launchers.
I'm going to try and theme the free wifi-tether widget so it will match too.I think that would make a nice addition.
Thanks! Nice work!

What is missing? These widgets? If so you should just have to reinstall them... I switched to CyanogenMod 7 so these widgets ended up on my back burner since I lost usage of the other ones from Moto Roms, then my system crashed and I haven't setup ADB again yet to start working on these apps.
I did see if there were some other I could add from the old Manup widgets but most of them won't work on 2.2 or new it seems...

I am one of the guys who contributed on the Sony Ericsson infobar thread. I honestly don't think this launcher have sense dependencies as the phone looks completely sense free and companies like au by kddi love to keep their things the way its supposed to when it comes to flagship devices I.e. their own launcher , software and restrictions.. I will take a look at the files of the a02 but as far as I remember the launcher from the previous a01 did not have dependencies at all aside the launcher itself needing APks to properly work. Nothing to do with framework.

The menus, settings, and status bar all look very sense like to me. . .
Lockscreen, widgets, and music player do too. . .
Well the ui is called officially iida ui and its kddi's own interface, for the phone to have sense ui then that would mean iida(au design part) would not have any input with the design, the previous phone had also some icons that resemble HTC but the phone was sharp and most importantly there were no dependencies with the launcher.
Let's be positive and hopefully it will work.

i hope you can get it working. i'd love to use this on mine
out of the box the apps don't install, it seems like they need to be decompiled and resigned so ill use apk multitool tomorrow to figure out if it works, let's be positive and hopefully it will work so far i can confirm htc garbageware present on the apps folder but the launcher itself and the applications needed are stand alone for example the apps to install to make the launcher initialize are iida_home and iida_widget_home those 2 are the launcher as a "whole". it will give you 2 options one screen for widgets and one with the tiles but i was not able to confirm this as i couldn't install the apps.
will check tomorrow. good night guys.
