I read in some places, including here at XDA that when you unlock the bootloader no longer more updates by PCCompanion in your device, it simply does not seek information about upgrading. Gives error.
Turns out I unlocked the bootloader of my Xperia S, I root, and still recognizes PCCompanion and sought an update (0.75).
I ask: It is possible that my Xperia S don't have unlocked bootloader? But as I got to root it?
Where can I check if the bootloader is even unlocked or not? Root it has, but PCCompanion is recognizing and seeking to update, and this is strange...

Many XPS users in Thailand said they saw the update but couldn't download it. It appears they have unlocked boot loader.
Therefore, I think PCC doesn't allow you to update unless you relock BL. But it shouldn't brick your device.

First.
Is your phone bootloader unlocked?
Problaly not, because unlocking you need fastboot.
Use search google "how to unlock xperia bootloader"
If unlocked then we help you install any rom.
Cheers

It says device must be rooted, what it actually tries to say is bootloader is not unlocked.
Unlock bootloader, or try a kernel which works on locked one

Bootloader unlock allowed : yes means bootloader not unlocked.

I've just purchased a Xperia X with FW 34.0.A.2.292 installed. I'd like to root thid device and found instructions on this thread . I've downloaded the kernel file, successfully installed all required ADB Drivers from here and followed the instructions. Unfortunately i allways get the following error message:

Any ideas how to proceed?
allow OEM unlock option under development options
Thanks, i have no OEM unlock option allowed, still getting the same error message. Does this require an unlocked bootloader?

Ah OK. What's the best way to backup the Xperia DRM keys before unlocking the bootloader, and how to restore them afterwards?
it's currently not possible to backup DRM-keys so you will lose them. there are kernels with DRM-fix which will restore the lost functions after unlocking
i got a problem, checked OEM unlock, deactive my xperia function, but bootloader status still "not allow", idk but when i deactive "my xperia" its not need to use my google account(not like my other Z4), i thing cause of its so bootloader cant be turned : yes

Did you buy your Xperia sim-unlocked? If not, it probably comes locked by carrier and this won't let you to unlock the bootloader.
I want to root my E2303 and install TWRP. But i believe i need to unlock bootloader first. Correct?
When i do the following, my phone says NO.
In your device, open the dialer and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
Is there any other way to unlock?

Hello,
Well, I wanted to experiment with Gcam - Camera2api etc and other mods!
Since I can't find yet anything that works with this model, I wanted to re-lock the bootloader and remove the message on start up "Bootloader is unlocked etc etc" and also revert back to original firmware.
I used flashtool - latest version 9.28 (Androxyde) and successfully unlocked the bootloader!
When I tried to re-lock it (As I have done this with previous Xperia phones) I got the error in the 1st post!
If you need any more details please let me know!
Thank you,
John.

I did the same thing using fastboot unlock command. But for now there's no way to fix this. Flashing the stock firmware, does not fix the issue. In fact it worked on some of the previous devices. But this time I don't see any solutions. I even tried so many commands using fastboot. But non of em worked. Let's hope that Sony will release some kind of commands to relock the bootloader.
