Use 'Screen test' from play store to test display for errors. I have searched for SGSIII secret codes but havent found much for now. Samsung service mode works *#197328640#
There is No allshare cast
Allshare csat doesn't work without the dongle, even when it was stated at launch that it would work on a modern (post 2010) samsung smart TV without the dongle.
probably wont bother most people but as i have a 55 LED samsung telly i was looking forward to this feature.
allshare works but not "allshare cast"

Greetings fellow XDA members,
I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, or maybe Im doing something wrong. I set up the IR blaster with the HTC One native TV app on my Toshiba TV and Comcast Cable Box. Everything works fine, but the TV remote seems to be missing the 'INPUT' toggle, which is to be used to change the input on the tv between HDMI ports. I searched through settings, and saw an option where i could teach it inputs from my regular TV remote, and it easily learned the button, but still the 'Input' toggle does not show up on my TV remote. It seems very peculiar since my GS4 showed it out of the box, and it is one of the most common inputs i use. I wondered if it has anythign to do with my TV model, but i dont want to change it incase it stops working completely.
Please let me know if anyone had the same problem or if its User Error here Cheers

If you are looking for wireless mirroring then you will need one of these.
AllShare Cast Wireless Hub
Otherwise, you can use a MHL adapter for wired mirroring.
MHL Adpater

Theoretically then it should work unless there is some incompatibility. Don't have personal experience of the same, so I suppose you will have to wait for a response from someone who has tried out screen mirroring using the S3.
Same problem here
Hi, maybe it's too late for an useful answer, but... the "Screen Mirroring" works on Sony TVs, and without the all-share cast dongle!
I have a Sony W6 (2013), connected via WiFi.
With stock rom 4.3 just connect the S3 to the same network, turn on screen mirroring on the phone and the Screen Mirroring should star automatically!
But screen mirroring doesn't work with a modded rom, in that case will appear the message "unable to start screen mirroring because of a hardware issue". Maybe the flash counter must be "0"... I don't know if there's a way to use this functionality with a modded rom.
Hi,
I have a Galaxy S3 LTE with StockROM and it's not rooted. I am not allowed to unlock it.
I know that something around BT has changed with the Upgrade to 4.2 or 4.3.
My BT game-pad IPEGA PG-9017 and my mini BT keyboard don't work anymore. I could pair booth but I don't get any reaction on the phone.
I still could connect the S3 with my cars radio via BT and it works. But before I also could use the radios controls to skip forth and back on the phone/spotify. Now I have to do it on the phone.
Now I bought Samsungs Gamepad EI-GP20. I could pair it but I can't get it to run. I don't know it EI-GP20 is a normal game-pad. But when I paired it with another smartphone and I immediately saw that the phone reacts to it.
To get my IPEGA to run I read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033780 . I installed BlueIMEZ and another APK which name I forgot. I didn't help.
I have the feeling that BT settings or IMEs are screwed up.
Is there anything I could do or check without having root? Does anyone have an idea what I might overlook?
note: Samsung screwed up the update for the S3
It's been a long while (4.2) since Google changed the Bluetooth stack, which broke Wiimote support.
But now with Marshmallow, they seem to have changed things again - As you can see in the attached screenshots it detects the Wiimote as a controller
But it's still unable to pair, because it requests a PIN, which as far as I know the Wiimote hasn't got.
Do you think there's any hope to get this working again?

i would guess at the pin, or maybe look on the wiimote site for help with one.
i had another device do this once, where its not supposed to have a pin. i browsed that devices help area and found the un-needed pin to be a default 0000. maybe you will find something similar.
My LG phoenix 2 only sees the wiimote under the phone bluetooth settings but needs pin. All apps out there whether side loaded onto device or not do not see the wiimote. Any solutions?
Sharing my screen from a S7 edge to a Samsung 8 series 64" SUHD TV was as easy as screen mirroring.
After my nougat update, it no longer connects. It says "connecting" and then says Cannot Connect and then terminates attending to connect.
This is on quick connect or screen mirror.
I have unpaired Bluetooth and trusted devices and re-selected. For now, it's not working and a huge frustration.
Any knowledge of issues or exact steps to make this help would be most useful.
Thank you!!
I have a Vizio smart TV and a chrome cast that I use on Occasion and for the most part they work fine but on some phones and roms you have to keep on clicking connect/cast when it does that. I've had the same problem connecting before and It usually works. Good luck
