There is still no root for 4.0.4, if you had rooted ICS 4.0.3 then do the OTA (overthe air) but thats to late for you i think

Boot loader unlocked?
If yes just flash night elfs rc 5 kernel and install super user zip via cwm
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
How I did it using flashtool:
Update to 4.0.4
Now flash the kernel from 4.0.3 (very unstable, but it doesn't mind because we will just use this to root the phone)
Once you have rooted your phone with the 4.0.3 kernel, select the 4.0.4 full firmware in flashtool, and check "Exclude system" and "exclude baseband", flash it, and you have 4.0.4 rooted.
I hope it helps

True... old firmware though. And no battery improvement.
.42 or .62 are both fine. We have 2 Neos, one on stock .42 and one on stock .62 without issues.
Only get battery issues with alternative kernels... including my own compile!!
PS: Just noticed Neo V (Neov) in OP

You don't need to reflash the kernel. You use recoveryNeo.img which is for Hot Boot only. It BOOTS in to CWM ONCE. You then use rootxperia.zip via CWM and the next time you boot everything is stock + root.
I did explain this earlier....

1. First download 4.0.3 kernel. (Neo V officially but will work on Neo)
2. Open flashtool 7.0 or newer version and flash just the kernel: untick wipe data/cache and tick exclude system/baseband and no final verification check.
3. Root with DooMLoRD's one click method shown here.
4. Optional: install CWM.
5. Now reflash 4.0.4 kernel using flashtool like shown above.
If you somehow do not have 4.0.4 firmware or if you are not on ICS but you want to update to, follow this guide from where you can download 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 ftf.
is it also applicable on Neo MT15i ? ? ?

I'm not sure what you want to say. If you are asking about updating to ICS, rooting the phone is optional. Here is how you can update to ICS.

From 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) then flashed the kernel (4.1.A.0.562) and followed the doomlords guide and back to (4.1.B.0.431).

Good afternoon, I am new in this theme and would like to ask a couple of things that I have not found an answer here in the forum. I have a Xperia Ray St18a, he came with Android 2.3.3 and I upgrade to 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.62)(via OTA). Now I have the bootloader unlocked, I'm root and I have the CWR installed and I want to install the ROM RayOniumICS.v7 S Revolution, in the post the "Chef" recommended to install the official ICS ROM first but I do not understand how or which ROM install first. I've never flashed any other ROM in this Phone. I hope you understand me (my English sucks) and can help me. Thank you very much.:good:

Try this to get ICS for st18a
Try editing your build.prop file. Look in /system/build.prop.
Open it with RootExplorer and edit
See attached picture, change the numbers that are in the red box (will be different on you build.prop) to this 1252-5344
Save and exit for every file you modded.
Reboot your phone. Turn off and use SEUS.
If this doesn't (with that number) try asking in the general section for the cda number of an st18a user who has got android 4.0.4 update.
If it does work, then now you have ICS official update.
Now you need to flash a kernel that is pre-rooted and has cwm, which you will have to unlock your bootloader to do.
Then you can flash whatever rom you want to.
Cheers,
Evil.
OK, thank you very much for asking in the original post, I will be tuned to the thread, and I'll try later to do what you say. Thanks for your help and answers.

You will loose root but you wont loose your unlocked bootloader. To get root back once you have flashed stock 4.0.4, flash a custom kernel, which should be pre-rooted and have cwm installed. Boot to cwm and flash the custom rom you want.

Well, if only I can post in the thread I would. But I don't have enough posts to post in android development threads. Thanks by the way.
Sorry I forgot about the 10 posts rule Anyway, read the thread :
1. Install latest official ICS from Sony via flashtool.. any version of .54 u like... doesnt matter if its indian or global or italian. if ur already in ICS official .54 then avoid the step....
2. FLASH CWM V5 for unlocked bootloaders... dont use any other... u wont be able to boot then.. and for locked bootloaders use the CWM is available for locked BL stock rom. no need if u have one...
3. Install rom via CWM
4. let it boot.
5. reboot and after boot do a factory data reset in settings. be sure to tick erase internal storage option
6. let it boot then go to quick panel settings. Go to Widget button and UNCHECK EVERYTHING. this step is important. otherwise system ui wont work.
7.Then go to solid explorer. Press back two times. u will enter SYSTM ROOT FOLDER. CLICK SYSTEM folder . Go to app folder. Find Quickpanelsettings.apk and rename it to quickpanelsettings.bak (or whatever u wish.. make sure it doesnt have .apk at the end..)
8. reboot and enjoy.......

Ok. So I have to put a stock rom, this root stock rom again and then try to install the Rom MoonBreaker.
Two more things: I do not have stock rom JellyBean, but could not find the forum. And most importantly: the kernel installed on my device works on any rom or any rom have to be a specific kernel?
Sorry for many questions.
Annex Photo kernel version.

How Sony didn't release JB for XP??
Do you even cgeck the XP development ??
We have already JB for a long time for our XP !!!
Lol hahahaha !!!!
@Isak_Rz
Just look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1938296
Flash the JB 1.100 ftf with flashtool and you dont need root for it and after flashing that ftf you can root it and install cwm ( The one for ICS works also on JB ) then you can flash any JB custom for locked bootloaders !!
Search and read before posting a new thread then you will learn and please dont post questions after questions !!
