Noob In NEED OF HELP ASAP EVO3D!!! - HTC EVO 3D

Ok guys my lcd was going out today and i tried to return to stock rom. I flashed the boot.img from my stock evo3d rom and tried tp restore my nand from cwm touch. it restored but stayed at a black screen just after the htc image. i think its a kernel issue but it has gotten worse now. I used to be able to get into the bootloader but now i cant, if the phone rarely powers on, it bypasses the bootloader while holding the required buttons for it and goes right to the main shell where it will only show a black screen after the white htc screen. Any ideas? im thinking it isnt hard bricked since it will power on.... any advice is appreciated

Damn im bored!

I received a brand new evo 3d because they were out of the Evo 4g replacements. I was pretty stoked because i was getting a new phone to go flash crazy with. Little did i know, no root! Damn! Htcdev unlocker Sux and isn't working for me. it goes through the whole process but won't unlock. So i just gave up. Anyway the phone is still a beast and atleast i have a brand new phone to tide me over until April for my upgrade. But of course I'm going to wait now for the lte phones to come out. Hope you all are having fun flashing, i envy you all. And a little jealous to.

Just do some reading. I did HTCDev unlock earlier this week. I have had my 3D since launch should have rooted it before I took updates but to be honest it really isn't that big of deal as people make it out to be once it's working.
You just gotta boot recovery using your computer instead of using the phone. Even when I had my evo I was always using my computer with a usb to copy rom files over anyway so taking an extra few seconds to boot recovery isn't a huge deal. I guess if your flashing like crazy and have roms on your sd card it could get annoying but I don't go that flash crazy. I like to setup my phone and keep it that way for a while.

Nothing wrong with Hboot 1.5 I have it also just one lil step more to flash but nothing hard to do... Root was rather easy Just follow the HTC DEV steps they give you no need for a video lol.
Does the htcdev way not work for 1.5?

[Q] HBOOT 1.49.1107 question

Hi guys!I have a simple(I believe so) and maybe noob question but I wanna be sure about something.I have recently rooted my 3VO and I had to downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.007 in order to do so.I have flashed the leaked Virgin Mobile ROM with Sense 3.6 and ICS BUT I HAVEN'T FLASHED THE FIRMWARE.ONLY THE ROM!
I saw that my HBOOT has gone to 1.49.11007.Now,my question is:is this bad or does this affect my device by any means?(EVO 3D GSM)If i want can I unroot and receive OTA updates, can I downgrade HBOOT,etc...?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

S off is what you want, bit ota only works on stock ruu

Thanks!(I have already hit the thanks button).Since you are very helpful(I am glad that someone experienced told me that upgrading bootloader didn't affect the phone) can you explain me something else?I have had this problem since installing custom ROMS.
If i shut down the phone and plug the charger in,the red LED goes on for about 3 seconds than goes back off, than back on and stays so,and in the morning when I power on the phone it says that I have around 60-70% battery(even though the LED is green).
If I charge the phone while on ,the LED stays red and the phone charges to 100%(but it won't come down to 95,then again 100 and so on).I have downloaded a battery calibration app and I have thoroughly followed the instructions(charge to 100,calibrate,discharge,charge to 100).
Will this eventually destroy my battery? Is anything wrong with this situation?
Thanks in advance
Nobody knows what this could mean?

Need some help with my bricked Flyer.

Okay so here's the deal. I was attempting to add some tweaks to file systems (system, devlog, and cache). I flashed my ROM with the tweaks included and then powered off from recovery because I had to pick a friend up from work. I came home and when I turned my flyer on it just booted to a black screen. So I tried rebooting into bootloader and recovery through adb and they both rebooted to this same black screen. No htc splash or anything.
Things I have tried:
Re-flashing recovery
Running RUU's
Re-flashing bootloader
Flashing zips through fastboot from Globatron's HC upgrade thread
Letting it die and trying again
Pretty much everything I can think of
When I flash any zip through fastboot, it says something like "Failed: remote id".
When i run any RUU, it says either that the battery is too low (which I know it isn't because I've charged overnight) or that it can't continue because there is a model ID error. I've tried using RUUs from the 3g flyer, wifi flyer, and US wifi flyer (I own the US wifi version) and they all say the same thing.
I still have adb and fastboot access, so I'm confident that this is fixable, but it is beyond my knowledge now and I need your help! So please if you have any suggestions, throw them out here! Let me know if more details are needed.
I tried looking at other "my Flyer is bricked" threads but none seemed to help my current situation.
Figures I was going to start working on my ROM again and this happens
Maybe
Fastboot erase cache
Almost sounds like you are in download mode. I have read in a couple threads allong the way of people finding themselves there but struggling to get out
Yeah I've tried that already with no avail. It's so weird. But how would've this triggered download mode?
yea I am not sure, nor am I sure my idea holds any water since you have allowed your flyer to completely drain. I believe that once you did that and it charged enough to power on you would be out of download mode. I think. when you do an adb reboot or fatboot reboot recovery it does appear like your flyer is rebooting? I know the end result is a black screen, but is it seamingly turning off then on again?
Well when I reboot it just sits at the black screen and vibrates once. It might go dark for a second but I would have to check again, and it is charging right now.
I don't like bumping threads, but I'm pretty desperate here. I tried fooling around with it some more and I still have nothing. Any input at all would be appreciated

Well that's the thing, I'm never really in the botloader. I'm at a black screen no matter what I do however I can still use fast boot and adb. I might try that when it charges again.
Whenever I try to flash a zip through fast boot it says "failed remote id not allowed"
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the boot loader but I really haven't got a clue. When I type fast boot getvar all it says that I'm still s-off.
I even tried changing my main version to no avail.

Sadly, I think you're right I just tried to unlock my bootloader as a last resort and I got to the point where you use the volume buttons to make an on screen selection and that screen never popped up. So I guess my screen really is dead..
Yeah it sucks but I've found stuff on mobile devices tend to just up and die without warning, I guess your best bet is HTC support. I know someone on here had a bad charging jack and wasn't able to revert to stock and they still honored his warranty and fixed his flyer

Alright I did something stupid and was working with the one x all in one tool kit and I think I clicked on the kernel go button and screwed myself over. All applause can wait till the end lol. You're going to need to supply some more info. Like what HBOOT do you have and are you S-ON or S-OFF? Do you have a recovery installed or have you tried to install one to wipe, flash something else and then see if you can boot?
This happened to me. Since you can't pull the battery you have to figure out the fake battery pull with the power button.
I still don't have this totally figured out but try holding the power button down for 10 secs. If the phone reboots by itself, hold the power button down for 10 secs and when the screen goes out, hold the volume down button and see if that gets you back in the boot loader.
I thought I was screwed too but got back in to recovery by doing the above.

All ltes are unlockable, you can unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery but kernel will have to be flashed separately. There is soff for all three bootloaders now so that would be the better route to take since you get full write access to nand memory. Follow the directions on unlimited.io
