I have set up a simple server on my computer that's connected to the WiFi network. I can access the site through the computer's browser and I can also access it on an iOS device that's connected to the same network. However, I am unable to connect to it on my Android device. Are there any special steps required for me to get this to work properly?

Hi,
I followed several guides on connecting my Galaxy Ace with an Openvpn Server.
I finally managed to connect to a Openvpn server using Certificates with the latest Cyanogen Mod for the Galaxy Ace.
For the Connection I used OpenVPN Settings App from the Market.
The thing is that the connection is established and I see in the config, that VPN is connected. It displays the message:" Connected to 134.x.x.x as 192.168.200.100"
But unfortunately nothing is tunneled over this VPN connection. If I for example check my external IP on the Galaxy device, it still shows me my G3 Provider IP. But I expect to see the IP of my Home Internet Provider. Furthermore no connections to devices on the local Network of the VPN Server can be made.
That means, that despite the VPN Dialog showing me that I am connected to the Open VPN server, no connection is tunneled over that device.
The Guides I used to setup the VPN Connection are from here:
freetz.org/wiki/packages/openvpn
and
riseup.net/en/openvpn-android
If I connect with the same settings from an windows PC to the Server, The connection is established and tunneling just fine.
Anyone knows what I am doing wrong?
Greetings!
Is it possible (is there an application for it maybe) to create ADHOC network on android mobile phone that DOES NOT share mobile's phone internet connection? PC client with internet will connect to mobile's phone access point and share its internet with the phone!
My situation is as follows:
I have a PC with Win7 Ultimate! Modem that connects to the internet is Huawei cable ADSL (non-wireless). It is configured in BRIDGE mode and set in windows to share its internet connection! I have integrated WiFi - AP b/g card on my motherboard.
I have configured the ADHOC network with WEP encryption on my PC, so my other devices (laptop and my mobile phone, which is HTC HD2 with ANDROID ROM) can connect to my PC and have internet access!
THIS CONFIGURATION, for some reason, DOES NOT work. My laptop and my mobile phone, who are clients, CAN'T CONNECT to my PC ADHOC network! They can detect the network, however they get stuck at "acquiring network address".
My laptop has Win7 Home Edition, so, I have created ADHOC network on him with WEP encryption. Both my PC and my mobile phone, CAN detect the laptop's access point and CAN CONNECT TO IT! My PC (client) then shares his internet connection with laptop (AP) and my mobile phone (client)!
So, in order to have internet through WiFi with my phone, I have to turn on PC and my laptop.
Since I can't connect with my mobile phone on my PC's ADHOC network, I want to try the opposite. I want the mobile phone to be an ADHOC access point WITHOUT internet connection, and my PC will act as a client WITH shared internet access!
Is this possible? If yes, is there an application that can do this (other applications on the market, for example: Barnacle WiFi Tether can create ADHOC network, but WITH internet sharing... I need without)!
Hi
Is it possible to access LAN from an Android phone that is acting a hotspot (i.e router)?
I can ping the phone but I can't ping any other device on the network.
I want to print to a network printer to my phone, or exchange files with PC.
I am having trouble getting any file browser program to connect to my windows shares over vpn. I can get them to connect fine via WiFi, just not through vpn. I have the vpn service setup on my Win 8 pc, ip range is set, account for my phone is added for full permissions. I can connect to the VPN with no issues and get an assigned ip address. However the issue arises whenever I try to add in one of my Windows Shares through programs like ES File Explorer. I have the folder shared and have the account for my phone added in with full access. However, whenever i try to add the server using the IP address of my pc, it fails with Cannot Connect To Server. I have checked every setting I can think of and even have a rule added to my firewall to allow the incoming connection, but still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas?
Hello everyone. I recently joined my university and they have WiFi connection. We were given unique email ID and password which once we connect our PC to the internet should be used to Login via Cyberoam and only then we can access the internet on our PCs and Tablets.
However, the internet is restricted for any smartphone, so even if we are connected to the WiFi on our Android device, it doesn't seem to work, no internet access at all.
For more clear idea, our university asked us to download cyberoam from a unique link which they provided, and also made us download some sort of certificate for Chrome on PC and then we got registered in their servers and we started accessing internet on PC after logging in on Cyberoam.
Any way to access this on our phones?
Connect the Wi-Fi on your laptop and use Reverse Tethering via USB.
