what T-Mo Apps?
what System Apps?
Im gonna be using Root explorer file manager
worked great for me in 2.3.4
Thanks in advanced Hope this thread also helps other people
Remove all the stuff that you desire, but one by one and making a backup in each case. If your phone is still stable, you can continue removing stuff (otherwise, restore the backup and try to remove another app).
I think that you can remove safely these apps: 2-4, 11-18, 21-24, 26, 27, 29-34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 44-58.
Wow I've forgotten how much bloat these phones/stock roms come with. RoberGalarga pretty much covered everything that can be safely removed. I would just add 44 and I'm not sure what 1 and 19 are but usually any carrier/manufacturer branded apps can be safely removed. Just remember to backup just in case.
Should I remove them with Titanium?
What about those files that end in extension ".odex" do I delete those also or just the app related to the ".odex" file?
1- is the same as My T-Mo Account
19- is the HTC kind of App store.
Does anyone knows if ics has a battery widget? I cat find it under HTC ones like in GB. If not is there a way to get battery % on my stock ice?
Thanks in advanced

You need to remove both the apk and the odex files. It's up to you but to me Titanium is easier to use to remove apps plus you can create a backup of the app before removing it.

Ok so I’ve seen a few people asking what apps are safe to remove on the EVO 3D, so I thought I would make a list of app names, what they do, and the effects of deleting them. I take no responsibility to anything that happens to your device, but I am or have already personally tested these. I would recommend doing a nandroid backup previous to deleting any bloat, as well as making a copy of all the apps you delete and placing them on your sd card, flashdrive, computer, or wherever else you feel they are safe. This is just a beginning list and I will come back and add more apps and details later!
If anyone wants to contribute just pm me, this list is taking quite a while to do and I am a full time collage student working a part time job as well haha. Please dont flame me for stupid things, this is my first guide posted.

Awesome thread, bookmarked it!
Does anyone know what watch.apk does?
Also, I think these two can be safely removed:
bluesky.apk
burgundy.apk
I think they're just themes or skins or something.

That's the one required to watch Green Hornet right?
I'll probably delete it. I liked TGH3D, but it's kind of a dark movie, poor choice to launch this phone with. Avatar on the other hand, wow! But, it probably costed to much to put on the phone.
It's the watch app that is used to watch movies and you can rent movies through it as well. Your pretty safe to delete it .
I noticed that if you delete this:
SetupWizrd.apk
Then, Google won't backup/restore your apps and settings (like Wifi password) to your Google account. Even though, I enabled it in Privacy settings, it still wouldn't restore if that APK was missing.

You can't remove Sense from a Sense ROM otherwise AOSP ROMS would be simple to make
IF YOU REMOVE SENSE ASPECTS WITHOUT A NANDROID OR HAVING SOMEONE TEST IT BEFORE HAND PREPARE FOR BOOTLOOPS
closest thing I can recommend is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16467400
It hides Sense but doesn't completely make your phone implode

I think he meant his post, not the thread. People often do that when they post something and then change their minds about it for some reason.
Look at his reason for the edit at the bottom of that post.

appwidgetpicker
so much stuff that usually isn't there with custom clean roms
Anyone? Is there no guide? Link?
I am sure much of these are crap, and removing them can be great. But which?
First of all, most of those are /system apps, so I would not delete any of them until you first "freeze" them with TBpro and see if there are any adverse effects from doing so. much easier to defrost that to push back to /system/app and set permissions. If nothing happens, then you can delete.
I usually delete the picoTTS and keep the appwidgetpicker (this is when you longpress on home and your widgets pull up, it show Beautiful Widgets (19) rather than 19individual widgets.
Here (see below but the thread is a good read too) and here and here is a list of bloatware for your viewing pleasure (simple Google search pulled all these up btw). Almost anything with com...and is red in TB, you should leave it alone.
First off all the Standard Apps:
AccountAndSync.apk/odex -> The app in the drawer, not the settings.
AddToHome.apk/odex
AudioPostcard.apk/odex
Avatar.apk/odex -> The app that launches Avatar in the video player.
BuddiesNow.apk/odex
Dlna.apk/odex [Allshare]
FlashPlugin.apk/odex
GoGo.apk/odex
Infoalarm.apk/odex [Daily Briefing]
KindleStub.apk/odex
Layer-samsung.apk/odex
MediaHub.apk/odex
Memo.apk/odex
Mini Diary.apk/odex
MobiTV.apk/odex
MyAccountStub_4-5-10.apk/odex
Myfiles.apk/odex
Sims3_Samsung_Embed_Launcher.apk/odex
slackerradio.apk/odex
Swype-Tips.apk/odex
Telenav.apk/odex
thinkdroid.apk/odex [ThinkFree Office]
vvm-signed.apk/odex -> T-Mobile Visual Voicemail [can be re-downloaded from the market. for some reason that version is the preferred one.]
VoiceRecorder.apk/odex
VoceDialer.apk/odex
Writeandgo.apk/odex
TouchwizWidgets:
Day.apk/odex
DualClock.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_Calenderclock.apk/odex

SamsungWidget_stockclock.apk/odex
SamsungWidget_Weatherclock.apk/odex

Well, what should be useless is:
Widget: ProTips
Game: Nova HD
Game: Teeter
App: LogMeIn
App: Lookout
App: Tmobile TV (MobiTV or whatever they call it)
App: Qik Tmobile Video Chat (get Tang or Fring instead)
App: Slacker Radio (meh...)
App: Telenav (trialware, use Google Nav instead or buy a real GPS)
App: TMobile Mobile Backup (never use it)
App: Tmobile "AppPack" (You can get the same junk by clicking on TMobile in the Market)
App: Tmobile "SelfHelp" (The annoying app that hijacks your calls to 611 or the 877 # from your phone)
App: TMobile MyAccount / MyDevice
Although this is for Tmobile, I assume that your carrier also has something like these apps more importantly, you should see which apps you don't (or do) need before you delete them
FOR ROOT USERS ONLY
Tested on Mega I9200 XXUAMEE
I removed more than 100 system apks, and my Mega works like a charm.
You will notice that the google apks are missing, and that the video player, music player, file manager etc. are missing as well, I removed them because I don't like the way they spy on us and suck our private data (look at the permissions they have if you don't believe me). No worries, just keep on reading for some alternative apks, and some ways to prevent spying...
IMPORTANT
1-Before to start the delete process do a Nandroid back up, and do a back up of your system/app folder (where all the system apks are) in case you want to reinstall a specific apk later.
2-If you decide to uninstall the filemanager apk, install first an alternative file manager, like let's say ghost commander, because if you don't then you won't have any app anymore to navigate to your files after having uninstalled the file manager, pretty obvious.
Same story with the launcher, or you will get a bootloop.
3-After you uninstalled all the apks do a cache and a dalvik cache wipe.
4-Reboot and enjoy full speed and no lags!!!:good:
5-Go to the data/data folder and erase the folders from the removed apks (optional), or use sd maid or whatever similar apk to do it for you.
IMPORTANT 2
Do not mess with system apks if you don't know what you are doing and if you don't know how to get back to the beginning in case things go wrong.
I won't take any responsability for any damage caused to your phone.
All what I mention below has worked for me but once more, do not play with your system unless you know how to recover if things get out of control.
SAFE TO REMOVE APKS
Rather than giving a list of removed apks I will list here the apks I didn't remove, so that you can assume that any apk that is not on the list is safe to remove. I do so because it's faster to list the remaining apks than the removed ones...
So here are the apks I kept (I have to admit that it's a bit extreme, and you are of course not obliged to keep so few apks, but at least you'll know which ones are safe to remove):
-csc
-defaultcontainerservice
-flashbarservice (removable if you don't want to have the static multi windows function. By the way I made a mod to enable floating multi windows that doesn't need the flashbar, you can find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48000697#post48000697)
-fusedlocation
-hybrid radio (removable if radio is not your thing)
-jobmanager
-logsprovider
-minimode-res (removable, but I kept it temporarly for testing purposes on the above mentionned floating windows mod)
-packageinstaller
-samsungcamera (removable? It seems that if one removes it then alternative cameras don't work, but I haven't tried them all)
-seccontacts
-seccontactsprovider
-sechtmlviewer (removable and replacable by an alternative html viewer, but since it doesn't spy and since it works well I kept it)
-secphone
-secsettings
-secsettingsprovider
-sectelephonyprovider
-stk
-systemui
-vpndialogs (removable, but then no more vpn)
-wlantest
Note that if you delete mediaprovider you won't be able to change your ringtone and your notification tone anymore (not a big deal for me but I don't know for you), and you will be stucked with the default tones. To change them manually you'll have to open the res/raw folder in framework-res.apk and add your own tones, not a big deal.
ALTERNATIVE APKS
-Launcher:
holo launcher hd, or whatever launcher you like, but install it before you uninstall touch wiz!
-Keyboard (Samsung ime):
I use the modded Xperia keyboard but there are many others.
SMS:
go sms, or any sms apk you like, choices are plentiful.
-Bluetooth:
if you use it for speakers or headphones keep it, but if you use it only to transfer files then uninstall it and use fastfiletransfer (the best, it works without wifi connection) and/or any ftp app (like swiftp for example, but such apps require an active internet connection) instead.
-Video:
mx player or bs player (the two best ones to my opinion) + floating player (basic video player but it boasts a resizable floating window, handy if you want to watch something while doing something else).
-File manager:
ghostcommander (dual panel mode, root browser, customisable toolbar),- or totalcommander.
-Music player:
I like gone mad music player but there are one zillion other options.
-Browser:
opera mini for speed, mozilla firefox for full desktop experience, and dolphin mini for something in the middle. Chrome? No thanks, the least google stuff I have in my phone the better I feel!!!
-Gallery:
quickpic.
-Polaris (pdf reader):
moon reader or mantano.
-Edit documents (doc., docx. etc.):
office suite or kingsoft office.
-Alarm:
any alarm clock apk will do, there are heaps of free ones...
-Google Talk:
lillypad hd.
-Gmail:
any email apk will do, otherwise access gmail from opera mini browser, it's faster.
-Play Store:
aptoide (there are others, see which one fits you the best).
Google Now:
actually you can keep that one if you like it, it's a stand alone apk which means that unlike gmail or gtalk apks it doesn't need the full google framework to work.
-Google maps: maverick (but there are others), google earth (stand alone apk, and not too much on the spy side).
-Clipboard:
clipboard contents.
-Calculator:
aircalc (floating calc).
-Quick Notes:
floating stickies.
-Bonus:
greenify (try it, it hybernates apks and saves juice).
That's all what I can think of for now. You are of course free to ask if you need anything but remember, most stock apks are replaceable and a quick internet search will show you plenty of alternative apks.
Last part, how not to be spied...
Some of the alternative apks I listed above do have abusive permissions, and so have the remaining system apks. To prevent your personal data to be sucked and sent who knows where you need four apks, namely:
1-Rom Toolbox Lite (free) or Pro (paid),
2-Privacy Blocker (paid),
3-AFWall+ (firewall, free),
4-Xprivacy (free).
-First open Privacy Blocker. Scan all your third part apks one by one, and see their dirty little secrets. Then mod the ones you don't like, it's easy, just follow the onscreen instructions.
-Second, open Rom Toolbox. Block adds, prevent any apk from auto starting, disable any transmitter you don't like, and try some build.prop and kernel tweaks if you feel like it (but be careful and do not play with your build.prop and your kernel unless you really know what you are doing).
-Third, set your firewall for wifi, 2/3/4 g, vpn, wlan and roaming with AFWall+.
-Last but not least, install the ultimate protection, Xprivacy:
https://github.com/M66B/XPrivacy
Enjoy!
Here is a list of apps that I have removed from the 4.4.2 (NC2) build using Titanium Backup and Root Explorer. There are more apps that can be removed but these are the ones I've deleted so far. Please keep in mind that you use your phone differently than I do so some of these may interfere with your daily use if frozen/removed. I have completely removed them but the best thing to do is to freeze them for a while in Titanium Backup or rename them with a .bak extension in Root Explorer to be sure that they aren't going to cause any issues.

I usually remove/freeze all that I can with Titanium Backup first then I use Root Explorer for the ones that I can't find in TiBu.
Did you freeze them or did you actually remove the apk? Only reason I ask is some of those might fall under the category of do not remove but you can freeze so we should probably clarify

Thanks for putting this together. I usually freeze/delete all the bloat I can. I hardly ever use the Samsung apps anyways.
Wanted to drop a thanks as well. I LOVE ASOP and I hate bloat that I never use. I'm seeing some of my best battery life on 4.4.2 with all of the above removed.
I plan on removing some of these items from the system/apps folder of the de odex version before flashing to 4.4.2. I assume there shouldn't be any issues as I have done this with several other roms in the past?

You shouldn't have any issues, but I can't guarantee anything.
Just wanted to say thank you for this helped delete every thing from two N3's.
Just chiming in I did remove a lot of the mention apps from the system/apps directory of nc2 rom floating around before flashing from 4.3 and it works perfectly fine. thanks again for the list!
I removed a lot (but not all) of apps from this list using Titanium Backup. I noticed a few things that broke after doing so and was wondering if anyone knew which missing apps might be the culprit?
1: Automatic screen rotation seems be broken for all apps.
2: I have Battery Widget Reborn installed and the quick settings in the notification shade don't work anymore.
Here is a link to my list.

Hey thanks! I'll compare the 2 lists and try restoring the ones that aren't on your list.
EDIT: Restoring "Easy Settings" in the Titanium gave me back the ability to use use my Battery Widget Reborn quick controls again. Strangely, after rebooting, this program name doesn't appear in Titanium anymore.
Also, I have no idea what is causing my rotation to not work, and no one else is reporting this, so I don't know. I found 2 apps that I removed in Titanium by mistake because I don't any backup for them: media and imsqmisocket.
I may just hard reset at this point.
So I've been trying to track down the app that is causing rotation to break but I can't figure it out. I started fresh and each day I've been deleting around 15 apps twice a day until they have all been removed. Today I removed the last 12 apps from the list and rotation is still working so far.

Thanks for the reply. It helped me to know that I wasn't the only one having this problem. I found the solution today after some searching:

You might want to update your list as I don't think all of these are "safe to remove."
