No Signal - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So I flashed a Blaze ICS Modem on my Note and now I don't have signal. I flashed a VK1 Modem and still nothing. Wiped Cache and Dalvik. The modem I flashed was from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581084. So please....for the love of God...what do I do?! Please help me! Thanks!

Make sure your apn settings are for the right carrier your on? Am assuming tmobile right? So check and see what others have in there apn fields and save it.. reboot and see if it enabled the data.

Try other modems? As far as I know those are a bit outdated. What ROM are you running?

Double

Thanks guys. And I did try the APN thing, but when I saved it, it would just stay blank. I wiped data and cache and it worked again. Now its working better for some reason lol.

Try a battery pull... if not that... then I would flash a different radio.

yea, try the battery pull. If that doesn't work, try to odin the EC01 radio (I was told you can do that with the mez, but not sure). Also, this belongs in Q/A not development.
I've tried three different radios. None work. And I had to pull the battery several times for odin. And I posted this in development in hope of knowledgable developers seeing it.

Not to mention a reason for posting about a mesmerize problem in the fascinate forum - these guys don't use our phone so may not be able to help you
On a side note, this might be worth a shot, if not you'll need to flash a full stock build with odin with re-partition checked to make sure your phone is completely re-formatted;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InN-Z340BO0
Either way, if you need to continue - post this in the mesmerize general forum (and only there).
Before you do all that try doing a simple ESN swap. Do a forum search right here in the Fascinate forums. A lot of people lost their 3G data when flashing ED01 Froyo. If you have the same problem myself and most of us had then flashing other radios and roms won't do a damn thing but make you mad.
Found it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051543

I ran into this same problem, I also have the Mes...here is what I did to fix, In Odin, I flashed the EC10 stock for the Mes, aqnd I checked the boxes "re-partition" and "EFS Clear", when I rebooted, I had signal (no 3g and couldnt make calls" but I used *228 and it re activated my phone, bingo, 3g back.
Basically what I did was remove ALL information on the phone, which included the MIN and MDN so when I re activated it and activated my data again.
You should try to hook your phone, up in qpst service painting and enter your info for the mez in the ppp tab

Haha so your fix made the most sense to me. And also was the easyest. And now I'm stuck on bootloader. Uhg.
Fixed now back to old set up 3g works. Bad odin file.

Data Issues

I've been having issues sending mms and turning my data on/off. I've been trying a few different hellraised roms , miui, and now on shostock. Not sure if that has anything to with it. It seems I have to toggle data on and do a reboot to get the data on and able to send mms/internet. I'm this.king about going back to stock root and start over again.

If your running miui or cm7 or any variants did you set up the APN for MMS?
EDIT: actually doesn't setting up the APN settings apply to hellraised roms also? Since the I9100 is made for global use.
Yes I set the apn's accordingly. Even deleted them to start from scratch to make sure they were correct.

When switching did you make sure to run the clean script before each flash? I've found that cleans up the nagging problems I get even if I do a "full wipe".
Where are you located? I had data issues for a while. Then I called ATT and there was an issue with the network in my area. I was without data for like 8 to 10 hours.

x2. I'm on WIUI and sent an MMS earlier today and didn't have any issues. I haven't changed my APN settings, either.

Wifi cutting out

I reflashed stock gingerbread, flashed the stock modem and my wifi keeps cutting out every minute. Other devices on router stays connected fine. I tried factory resetting, reflashing the modem again with no luck. I also did try searching for an answer and most say to flash modem. Anyone have an idea why wifi won't stay constant?
Don't want to sound stuiped but when you did flash the modem? ..is it UCLA5 and did you check afterwards? In phone settings? ...seems something went wrong? ..I would entirely do it over.. Like clear date/factory reset...clear cache...clear davilk cache.. then install your gingerbread backup...or another gingerbread rom....
Also found a slight fix.. read the entire thread.. if you think it will work for you.. then I hope it helps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766
Its at ucla1 isn't that stock? I tried the fix but still pooping out.

Try the modem I have in the general section of the apn trick thread.. there's a modem of UCLC5 that's for gingerbread too.. I never had a issue with it.. runs nice

Nope. No bueno. Ill try completely reflashing stock once more. I don't know what's going on.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
So i installed flapjacks rom and the wifi works fine. Although I didnt like this ICS leak version because sometimes, your cellular data craps out when being on wifi too long and only comes back after a restart, sort of why I went back to gingerbread. .
Anyway I might just flash back to GB and see if it works again.

Troubleshooting coZ rom by Cozmo1

Hey guys!
I recently started using Cozmo1's coZ rom and its great so far but I'm having a few issues.
This is the link to his rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337437
I would post this question the ROM page itself but it seems I cant because I'm a new member.
Anyways my problem has to do with data connectivity.
Very often, my phone simple doesn't have any reception bars and results in the ( / ) circle that indicates no reception.
The only way to fix this for me to is to toggle airplane mode on and off and after a minute or so it reenables.
The times I do have a consistent reception, after around 5 minutes of being idle, the data connection turns off completely. I thought this was
some kind of battery saving feature that automatically enables when I need to use data but the only way to get data is to toggle airplane mode on and off again.
This is giving me some serious issues as missing calls because of the ( / ) reception or extremely delayed text messages.
Also when I'm driving and need some quick directions, I can't use voice command to put in the address as this requires connectivity.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache in cwm. Also try fixing permissions in cwm if that doesn't work.

I'll throw you a bone... Sort of. Read the following threads (multiple times if you don't fully understand), then ask any questions you may still have. I'm not being rude, I'm being helpful. I still have lots of questions... I read a lot! Don't forget to read the links inside these threads!
Start here
Read this next
Then this
As for your modem question: Basically, it controls you're connectivity to data, gps and, I believe, wifi. (please correct if wrong)
There is a thread (Google search: Modem i777 xda) you can find with different modems and a nap that might help you find which is likely to be the best for your area.

So would you guys say the answer to my problem is getting a new modem?
Did flashing the coZ rom somehow install a new modem over the stock one and start causing problems?
Actually according to the rom thread ( I know, who actually reads those?), it says it comes packaged with the stock modem.

Well if that's the case messing with the modem wouldn't really solve anything would it?
Appreciate all the help so far guys! Still waiting for a working solution though :fingers-crossed:

It may be awhile for you to get a work through solution. But have you tried to reset the APN to default?

Just flashed it good sir and it seemed like it would work!
While using it though it randomly went to the ( / ) symbol and all data and connectivity was lost.
Had to toggle airplane mode for it to reenable
Some more suggestions would be nice peeps! :fingers-crossed:
It seems to have gotten kinda worse after the new modem. I have to restart my phone to reenable data connectivity now
Back up all your important info, reboot into cwm recovery, go to mounts/ storage, wipe the /system, data, cache partitions. Go back one screen , go to advanced, wipe dalvik. Then reinstall the ROM. If it fixes it, then yer good. If not its either a hardware issue or a ROM issue.
