Hi! I am 14 years old and I want to root my smartphone, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo.
I am a kind of a "noob" so, can you explain to me step by step, detailed. Or, please, post a link where I can found how to root Xperia Neo - even if your a noob.
P.S. I would be very grateful if you help me. I bought Xperia Neo 2 months ago, and I am very unhappy with it. It lags often and freezes. I want to root so it can work faster. Please help!
im 14 too and im not a noob.xd im skilled at GT-S5570 and newbie at MT15i... on which android system you are.? gb or ics.? and you should watch stickies or announces or even use the search field à button... or read da faq

Read the stickies in all sections first please

@geri268, don't buy Xperia Neo! It is terrible comparing to Xperia Mini and other smartphones with the same price.
Well, still don't know how to root it.
If I'm administrator on this forum, I would make a thread called: SE Xperia Neo - root & other stuff.
I would put links of sites or threads where I can see how to root it, newbie version. Or normal one, I'm not a huge noob.
Also, I'm tired of people: "Search the forumz!1111". There are to many threads and I have smarter things to do.
It's so hard to click on sticky threads.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20649281
You may be fed up of being told to search and have better things to do, don't you think other people have better things to do than repeatedly answer the same question, to people not willing to help themselves.
NOW GOTO YOUR ROOM!

Hello, just take a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420351
Its a way to backup all your app+data throught the PC and adb, only for ICS, without being root.
Anyone has tried it on our Xperia S? (in locked bootloader)
For me, when I try to backup it says
Code:
Now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation
(I made sure that it recognizes the phone)
if this would work would be fantastic...because now I wanna get root, but I will lose everything
thanks
It works for me on xperia U and on xperia Sola to....
Maybe is it related with bootloader locked?
I dont think so, anyone working on Xperia S? that message (Now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation) does appear to you?

Yes. You need adb from the ICS SDK.

Hi
i own a xperia neo L MT25i, i guess plenty of people do now
so calling on all devs/experts to help us pimp our L
so far i have been able to root it thanks to the "finally rooted L" thread, but what good it is if we can unleash further powers :crying:
i desperately need a guide on "how to enter recovery mode in L" and "how to install cwm in L", am sure a lot of L owners will second these
there is a oc kernal as well as a supermodded rom floating around but we cant get to those till we achieve the above
its about time we move on from neo and neo v and show some love for neo L
thanks in advance guys
ps: if help arrives via this thread, kindly keep it strictly to L issues, people looking for neo or neo v guidance please stay away from this

Novice or not novice, search.
It's even written in first post, names of threads, one of it is "finally rooted L", XDA->Neo->General section->"search this forum"(option in upper right part) and search for "finally rooted L" and you will find that thread.

Lol.... He simply doesn't know how great DoomLord is...
He might have thought, its just a rooting toolkit's name!
However, there's a lot more to it!
You'll find Doom's name everywhere where Xperia name pops up!

The idea is simple. Doomlord kit / root toolkit / unlock bootloader / some device backups , and the most important thing is, a PC to perform all these actions.

Root my Xperia Sola with Bin4ry no loosing any data and specially apps
Hello!.
New to forum
I own Xperia Sola Sony device of 2012, I fully know all the tricks and tips on Xperia SOLA to keep my battery for approx. 2 days with quite a good usage, but I steel want to root my device in order to have access on root applications and kill some not wanted "mam" apps.
Can you please let me know if there is a way to just root my device without unlocking bootloader? I searched and found "Bin4ry" it seems possible , but the most important question is will the apps, interface settings etc be removed after rooting so I will need to restore from a back up or is it possible to do rooting with Bin4ry and have all my apps setting s and data safe??
Thank you in advance,.

Big greetings...
I am new on this forum and This is my first android phone and i am big noob for this os.
Please do not laugh if i ask something stupid.
I have few questions about sony xperia u, and I need some advice abouth this phone.
First i want to know how to downgrade from 4.0.1 to 3.3.5 (or 3.3.7, i am not sure) and is that possible?
I updated my Gingerbread to 4.0.1. - i wanted to see how my phone will work with 4.0.1
I am not satisfied because phone operations and performances are slower.
i was thinking if i do factory reset my old os - 3.3.5 (or 3.3.7, i am not sure) , will come back, but phone starts again with 4.0.1
Other question is - how to root xperia u and what i gained with that?
tnx
Odp: [Q] Xperia U
Wrong section. Use flashtool and flash gb(not 3.3.4, it's 2.3.4 lol). If you want root your phone use one of the instructions on forum.
