[Q] Disable notification pulldown widget animation - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The animation when the notification bar is pulled down is freaking annoying. Any means currently for us to disable that?

Yes please! Really annoying "feature"

Disable all animations might do it. Go to settings, developer options, Animation. Turn both window & transition animations off. I'm not sure if this will work since I haven't received my SGS3 yet. if it does please press the thanks button.

Thanks for replying.. But nope, had also tried disabling both settings earlier

Has anyone found a resolution?
This really is annoying.
Btw, any way to configure/move the widgets?

Message, missed call preview on lock screen?

How do I get the previews to show up? Not the 4 app shortcuts but the preview if you get a text message or misses call it'll pop up on tje lock screen. My wife's EVO 3d does it

It should do it automatically. What lock screen are you using? (Ex. Wallpaper, Stocks, Weather, etc.)
You have to have notification turned on for sms. Phone should work on its own.
Im using weather and its not. Im using regular sense 3.0 lock screen no custom launcher

i have the same setup as you, weather lockscreen and no custom launcher.
i do get the missed call/sms notifications. i didn't change any settings and don't remember turning on any notification for phone calls anywhere.
perhaps experiment with other lockscreens to see if you get missed call notifications on them? at least you'll be able to determine if just the weather one doesnt show the notifications or if all your lock screens dont show notifications?
the other solution which comes to mind if wiping the lockscreen data settings storage with the assumption perhaps something got corrupted somehow.
might be worth double checking any type of notification toggle for missed phone calls, although i don't recall seeing that ... prob worth checking sms notification toggle also.
hope that helps, let us know.
I don't get the sms notice but I am using handcent...I do get the missed call notice....Using viperrom and the weather lockscreen.
Go into settings -> privacy -> display message text. Make sure that is checked and you should be good to go
Oh? Your iPhone can't view this 3d content?

[Q] homescreen vibrate help

i hope you can help me guys,
heres my problem, you see im quite annoyed with the vibration in the homescreen everytime i add/remove an app or widget shortcut. haptic vibrate is already off, is there a way i can remove the vibration?
I'm pretty sure it does that by design. Some custom launchers don't, maybe you should try one of those.
Are you adding widgets that often that this annoys you?
Or does it vibrate when doing something else as well?

yeah i do constantly add/remove widget

Lockscreen issues

Hi,
I've searched google and the forums in and out, and can't find anyone mention the bugs I see with the pattern/PIN lockscreen. I'm using CM9 (Nightly 20120611).
The problem begins when trying to temporarily deactivate the lockscreen, either by using the notification power widget, or by using apps which probably carry out the same OS function in order to deactivate it.
Settings -> Interface -> System -> Notification drawer -> Widget buttons -> Toggle lockscreen
Once deactivated, clicking any notification (be it an SMS, email, or any other) from the notification drawer causes the lockscreen to pop up out of nowhere, and from this moment on - it's back on, even though it's supposed to be deactivated, and the toggle is switched 'off'. Playing around with the toggle might bring the state back to normal, but down the line stranger things will happen, especially if playing with the lockscreen setting 'Show widgets before unlock' - for example the phone may unlock given any pattern/PIN, or the lockscreen toggle may become useless (no effect).
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this CM9 or ICS?
Thanks!

[Q] Notification toggle button on Jelly Bean?

On my stock ICS ROM there used to be a toggle button that enabled me to hide the notifications in the notification bar. A very usefull feature as I use my phone a lot to show technical pictures to customers and when sms and what'sapp notifications pop up, it doesn't look all that professional. On the different Jelly Bean ROMS i can't find this option anymore. Has it just disappeared from Jelly Bean? Or do i need another ROM? Now using Omega V27.1. Thank you for any advice.

It's there on jb.. Press and hold the notification.. You will get an option to go to app info.. From there you can toggle notifications on and off

It's been rolled into the "Blocking mode" feature. Open (the main) Settings from your app drawer and you can configure it from there. If Omega uses the original toggles (and not the 15 toggles), you can also configure Blocking mode from the notification bar (and turn it on and off from there).

Apologies for my incorrect reply, it does seem to be removed - the notifications feature of blocking mode only seems to refer to incoming call notifications

Remove quick settings from notification panel?

I didn't see anything on this when I searched, but does anyone know of there is a way to remove to quick setting toggles from the regular notification panel (and leave them on the quick settings panel)? I thought the whole point of the quick settings panel was to not take up space on the notification panel while still having easy access to common settings...
Is that something that is baked too deep into the touchwiz interface that you would have to go aosp to do that?
Thanks
