Hi!
I love Sony(Ericssons)'s "swype" keyboard. I've tried different sliding keyboards like TouchPal and SlideIt, but they are not nearly as good as Sony's. I'm currently running AOKP(I run AOSP roms mostly), and since it has Android Keyboard instead of Xperia Keyboard, I'm asking someone to post a link or something to a flashable keyboard or something.
I have the keyboard apk on my SD(extracted from a stock rom), and I've tried installing the .apk and pushing it to /system/app, but neither method worked.
I'd be grateful if someone answered!

Try this it is a modded keyboard by iridaki.
Think it is stock but with swipe you need to set it up from settings to swipe.

Hi,
Swype is now available for the mini,from the official site itself---specially designed for mini's resolution.Check it out.I have tried and it works well.Personally I find Swiftkey more appropriate for the mini---least effort required after a while because it has a very intelligent predictive capability and draws on your usage pattern!I have the paid version but the free version is good enough for starters.Check it out.

It might not work that way.You may have to register your email id that can be accessed on your phone.Swype would then send you a link which you should open from your phone and then install.I think they generate some unique id in order to keep track of all their installations.This is still Beta!

I heard Swiftkey doesnt support the symbols and smileys you have with the stock keyboard..
In the search of a good keyboard, I tested many, but could find one that supports the Symbols key(like the SE Default Input). Also, I needed a keylogger for my mini pro. Finally, I decided to write my own input method, which meets my particular requirements It's no t so difficult, just check the SoftKeyboard example or the LatinIME from the Android source code.

smart keyboard pro supports many languages, has many options in settings specialy for autocomplete and has a lovely backup for options. it learns new words and can add them to user dictionary. quick text is also very good feature for inserting big sentences or email address just by few characters.
I was using Anysoft Keyboard, and I thought it was nice. Currently I have been trying swype and also liking it. It tends to be better for bigger words, while some small words it makes more mistakes. One thing that would make it perfect would be to ALSO suggest when you are typing a word character by character, not only when you swype a full word..

Yesterday, I downloaded and installed a ROM : ICS Stock V2. I have a little problem because of this ROM. I'm french and the keyboard is a QWERTY keyboard but i want an AZERTY keyboard it's possible ?
I try with AnySoftKeyBoard but I don't understand how it can help me
Try anoyher keyboard like Smart Keyboard Pro. Go to settings, and choose French languages. Done! Working fine for me.
But I guess any other Keyboard can do the samz. Have a look in the settings!

This morning, I've succeeded to change QWERTY in AZERTY with AnySoftKeyBoard but I can't use the samsung keyboard.
Can I use Samsung keyboard with Smart Keyboard Pro ? It isn't free so : Can I have the same app which can change my samsung keyboard in AZERTY ?
You can also try Swiftkey X Free!. It's really good and free!

Just go to the keyboard settings..there has to be a additional language download option somewhere...
I cannot download another language in the setting, or it is not in Parameters / Locale and text / Samsung keypad / Input Languages
I think u might just need to download another keyboard then....
I've got a htc sensation which I rooted a while back, and have been using virtuous inquisition since then. Since that rom was sense based, I've been using the sense keyboard and liked how i could have it in a phone keypad layout. This one was modded too to have arrows for moving the cursor around which was great since tapping the screen in exactly the right place is a real pain in the arse.
Thing is I've now recently changed to cm10 which isn't sense based, so the sense keyboard has gone. The standard keyboard only has the full keyboard layout, so the buttons are too small for me.
Apparently you can't make the sense keyboard work with it, so I've tried go launcher's keyboard, multilang and a few other free ones, but none of them are perfect. Can anyone recommend a decent keyboard to me which will work as I want?
Perfect keyboard. First app I download when I flash a new rom, highly customizable.
SwiftKey. I believe it's still on sale, but there is a free trial.

+1 bought it, very nice, using it without correctionstuff, i´m an oldschoolwriter a lot of customizations as mentioned
Just tried perfect keyboard and yeah it seems nice. I've got my desired layout and cursors, and the dictionary works well enough to be used without fuss. Can I make it so that it doesn't suggest words longer than what I've typed? For example if I type aunt it suggests words more than four letters long, like cumulative. Any way of making it stick to the correct number of letters?

SwiftKey. I've been using it for a while, and even when I'm not typing English -with English being the only dictionary installed) it still offers me corrections (although they're not automatically selected, which is good).
It literally learns how you type.
Right, I've tried SwiftKey, a.i.type and jellybean keyboards and none of them appear to let me choose the layout that I want.
That perfect keyboard seems alright, but how can I stop it suggesting words longer than what I typed?

Yes. I have never used predictive text/spelling as I hate it so know naff all about it.
To be honest I think its a crap suggestion because the whole idea of predictive is to help you place long words by only typing a few letters so it will never work the way you want.
For me smart-keyboard is perfect. You can use ready made skins or create your own quite easyly.

I would like that too. I don't know what samsung have done to the keyboard but its crap now, I don't care if it links to farcebook, twatter and gmail to 'learn' how I type, why get rid of such basic functionality. It's a step back

Install Thumb Keyboard, its much better in every aspect then stock keyboard. You can also customize size/position of keys, themes aswell as have cursor keys.
