I have some questions, hopefully someone will help me with them:
1- Which ROMs types does work with mine?
2- I need to Upgrade it to ICS which support Arabic language(not interface because i don't care)and work with mine, can someone tell me which one the best?
3- Can the kernel be changed to be able to install ICS for I9100 on mine?
4- I read that the ICS for Isreal Carriers was released and it support the Arabic language, does it work with mine?
5- If non of the above is do work, is there any customized ICS support Arabic and work with mine?
6- does the customized OS allow me to downlaod from Google and Android Markets, and if not, from where can i do?
7- what is the best topics i have to read about Galaxy S2 and Androids plus how to root and install OS in forums?
I will be very appreciated if someone answer my questions.

> You will get to know everything. Start off on the link at my last answer.
> For arabic language support, you need to install a custom ROM which either has multiple languages, or the Arabic language. Don't worry if it is confusing, read the link on the last line
> No, that is not possible, but you always have ICS ROMs for all types of models of the Galaxy SII !
> The kernel that was released officially didn't support arabic, but here at XDA, you can always find the "CUSTOM ROMs" that are tweaked and have multiple languages!
> Yes, ofcourse. Link at the last line
> Yes, customized ROMs allow you to download stuff from the Play Store officially ( Android Market )
> To start off the best topic is THIS and then after reading it, go to your corresponding SGS2's thread which is HERE
I learnt every single thing from this thread and you will too. It explains every single thing about rooting, putting custom ROMs, flashing kernels, etc.
Please, do press the "THANKS" button below my post. It really does help.
Cheers!

Dear Forum Members,
This is an excellent place where people try to help each other. However, I have read EVERY post on changing languages and none of them is clear enough or general enough to be of much help. This is partly confused by the multitude of languages and operators. Can one of the experts please give a step-by-step guide or put it in a FAQ so that we can have this wrapped up once and for all? People are reluctant to flash their device based on vague instructions due to the possible consequences (making a shiny door-stop).
Things that would help:
Will the device work properly irrespective of what operator's ROM you use?
What is the latest and / or best ROM for e.g. English?
I recently bought an O2 XDA II in Germany and flashed it to English using the upgrade from O2 UK. Now my device has English except for all the phone functions are still in German. So, this procedure is not as simple as some people claim. So I need to flash again with a second ROM to take care of that?
Please, one of the experts help us out and save yourself time. For example LumpiStefan has written "read the forum" several times in response to this question. If he had read every post as I have then he would know that this is not so clear or easy.
Thanks in advance!

German into English
Hi, I'm with you.
I have the same problem. I have a German XDA II and want to change it in English.
I posted some mails to several specialists on different forums. I'm waiting for an answer. If there is something interesting I get back to you.
Note: I didn't try to put an english ROM update on my XDA II cause it seemed a bit too "conflicting" to me. No problems besides the phone still being in German?
If not, can you already provide me with a link?
Thanks
Grtz
as far as i know the language is hardcoded in the rom and the only way to change the language is to change the rom
excluding arap and asian language i think because they seem to use an extre tool to get their chars supportet

Hi,
I'm new on the forum and I hope I'm writing in the right section.
I'm going to be a new android user as well because my Lenovo Lephone is coming end of this week?
Unfortunately there is no section for it because I guess it is only available in China.
The phone is already rooted: XXX://androidforums.com/all-things-root-lephone/102624-root.html (I'm not permitted to link)
There are some neg points:
- the market is not installed
- there is no custom rom
I'm not at all a programmer or something close but I'm ready to learn, to try and to get my hands dirty. I will just need some paths and answers.
My questions:
- Is it very difficult to create (or adapt) a custom rom to a android-phone when it is rooted? What should I do?
- Is it possible to install the market to the initial rom? Or should I flash it? Should I add it to the initial rom when it is extracted.
- Does this tutorial to extract the rom work for any android phone? ([TUTORIAL] How to unpack Android ROMs on Windows)
Thanks in advance for replying,
Best regards

You can find 4.1+ roms usually on chinese sites but there's a spanish site with a very nice 4.1.2 rom (more languages, stock messaging, phone and contacts, etc). Just copy-paste the link below:
movilesdualsim.com/foro/threads/40695-ROM-Haier-W910-4-1-2-Versi%C3%B3n-2-XX-Con-SuperUser-y-PlayStore-Castellano
Enjoy
I found a ROM on Polish forum, but haven't yet tried it (still waiting for my phone delivery):

This ROM comes from moviledualsim forum as well - if you go to the moviledualsim forum and look into the original topic for this "ROM", there is a flashable version of it as well as step-by-step guide (all in Spanish though). I'd love to post a link, but I am unable yet, so you need to look into the ROM subforum of a Haier W910 Moviledualsim.com forum and find a topic called "ROM 4.1.2 - "stock" by me
Hello everyone,
i'm new here, but i've being looking for a custom rom for my father old huwei 858. all that i can find is outdated. is there any custom rom availeble and with a guide of how it can be installed?
thanks.
Using the rom manager app i manage to find a rom that works like a charm. but i still have a problem: is it possible to install a language into an already installed rom? the one that i manage to install only have english spanish and german, i would like the phone to be in portuguese, is there any way i can do it without having to find another rom?
ok its solved now, end up installing the lastest cyanogen mod and everything works fine, including a huge number of languages
Hi,
I will ask that your question be moved to the Android General Q&A section, and hopefully you can find help. I can only see the roms that you've probably already seen. As far as instructions go, they are usually in the first post or 2 of the rom thread.
Good luck!
as title says, i want to know can I flash russian/international rom on my indian phone with indian firmware? will it work fine? if no, then is it possible to port them? if someone know how to port then please give some guidelines for mtk device.
Solved
too bad i couldn't even get answer of a general question from community. anyway, i tested international (i.e. Russian version) rom on my phone. its working perfectly fine, all you have to do is just change the language at the first boot page. attached a picture as proof. so folks, international roms can be used, enjoy! :good:
