I put my phone in my pocket and when I pulled it out my 3d was on. It's right now as I type this. Is there an actual way to enable it . This would be cool for 3d wallpapers and such
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA
Mine's done it a couple times coming out of my camera in 3D mode. Probably won't be beneficial since you can't truly see the 3D unless you're in landscape mode, which the homescreen does not have by default.
I have had it too when i was in youtube. Also my youtube fails badly most of the time. no 3d videos in 3d but real crappy
Please post questions in the "Q&A" section.

Yes, a slider on the side to choose 2d or 3d

That's for the camera, not the screen. The screen will only display 3D when 3D content is running.
Is the homescreen/sense launcher in 3d
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I wonder if there will be an option to set it to toggle 2D/3D for either the camera or the display (like the lock switch on the iPad to mute or lock auto-rotation), or possibly toggle 2D/3D for the camera when it is being used (Barcode Scanner, Layar, stock camera app, etc.) and toggle the display mode the rest of the time. If not, I'm sure someone on XDA could probably throw something together to do this.
The 3d effect on screen is software controlled

Negative. The homescreen and launcher just have something of a 3D feel, but will not have the 3D stereoscopic effect using the parallax tech. It was in one of the vids for the phone I watched from YouTube. It was a a hands on demonstration by HTC rep.

try switching it from 2d to 3d, I have to do that on mine every once and awhile to reset it.
I've tried that but no luck. In 3D it displays both left & right picture combined but not in 3D.
turn your phone landscape, wont work portrait.
It works in portrait just looks cyan/red to me

Make picture full screen. Tap screen. Tap edit (pencil). Tap Adjust 3D Alignment. Tap left or right to adjust 3D.
I had that happen to me today. Except I couldn't see video is 3d. I took it to sprint today and he did the most obvious thing. Pull the battery and it worked again.

Ok, taking the battery out fixed the problem. I was worried I had to get a new phone.
Thanks guys for the tips!

The Sprint rep also told they have a couple more updates coming out. Hopefully it will fix the 3d effects issue.

Don't get me wrong, the stock HTC player works fine, but I would love to be able to resume a movie from the last viewed instead of having to restart and manually locating the spot that I left off...

I hate having to manually switch to 3d and having no resume.

The default gallery app and Watch are the only ones that currently let u watch 3d movies. I assume with more 3d phones coming out, devs will start making theirs have 3d features. HTC Watch lets u pick up where u left off (The Green Hornet), but the gallery app doesn't. Maybe they'll update it

Why do some videos play well in 3D and others show a side by side split. Even the same author has videos that play differently.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
If it is playing two screens side by side, then you need to hit menu>3D mode. Then it will be playing in 3d.

Lol I know which button the menu button is. I just don't have an option to change to 3D. And yes, I looked under settings. But props for taking the time to make a little picture of the button

Are you using the default gallery to play these SBS videos? If not you should be. That's the only suggestion I can think of.

Sorry if I was not clear earlier. It's a YouTube video. I moved on to other 3D clips.
I know there are apps for sharing 3D pictures, just wondering if there are any for 3D videos.

If it's youtube, you have to have HQ on to be able to play it in 3d. Otherwise, using the stock gallery you can hit menu-view in 3d.
Some where I read in the reviews that finally Sense 4.0 provides hone screen rotation, but today I check the phone in sprint store and it does not...Now I know that I can use 3rd party launchers but then I will lose sense advantages...What is with android and home screen rotation is it another of of the apple patent thing?

I will do it in Car mode even after you exit car mode if using the HTC Dock. It will also do it when using media link.
I am not sure why they won't allow us to do it at will though. I would like this to happen.

with sense or without sense?
Is there a way to achieve this without flashing a ROM? is there a build.prop setting that could be changed? it does work in car mode after all....
You need a modified rosie.apk. You need to be rooted to change it but don't need to be bootloader unlocked. There are threads about it on here.

With sense. There are a couple of ways to do it.... If you do not want to root, you can get app from the play store that will rotate the home screen..... I forget the name of the app though....
Or you can flash a custom rom... I m using charmeleon rom and there is an option for screen rotation.

If I were you, I would just wait for the sgs3 to come out.... So you can compare the two and make your choice then.
Also you can check out reviews of it and there will be reviews directly comparing both.....

yeah that is the plan, not leaning more towards evo though, as i have used only htc phones sgs2 is the only samsung phone i owned...but yes will wait one more week and see...thank you so much for providing me correct info, if i had asked this kind of question in SGS2 forum, being an evo owner, i would be dead by now..
The app is rotation locker from playstore. After installing click on it and longpress auto rotate. Bamm you have landscape rosie

As others have mentioned it does rotate home screen and app screens if you exit car mode with the phone still docked. I have not been able to rotate these screens outside of the dock, however.

I am still not getting the answer...Is it because os some patent infringement or something else?
I have tried a few android phones and none seem to provide it. Now I tried apex launcher, go launcher and others and they can provide it, so I am still not sure why we do not get it in stock launchers?
Rotation locker worked great on my phone but has one maybe unknown side effect. If you have it set to permanently stay on landscape or you have the auto rotation feature enabled and you enter the camera app you will be in for a nice treat.
The camera app focus disorients and everything looks funny and in a strange angle. You have to aet tthe phone to portrait mode so everything could go back to normal.
Other than that, the app works great!
