Unroot with S-On? - HTC Amaze 4G

Searched around but found no answers, I need to send my phone back for warranty exchange and need to be on stock. Running energy ics with S ON. Tried to revert to stock by flashing RUU but it said the HBoot was incompatible. Can anyone please help?

Did you do a nandroid backup before you install energy rom? Your best bet would be to restore your nandroid, go into system/bin and delete the su files and flash stock recovery via the all in one tool, voila, you're back to complete stock.

I didn't backup before I did it, I just got the phone and had nothing on it. Stupid decision on my part. Any way around it?

Yup, hope GG or someone who has a stock nandroid see's this and uploads it for you, since the only other option is to flash the stock ruu, which doesn't seem to work, did you try flashing the leaked stock ruu via hboot?

Great idea ill try that now. It's just the hboot is updated to ICS and is incompatible with gingerbread ruu, so leaked ics stock RUU should work hopefully

Lol I thought you tried the ICS stock ruu, the ICS stock ruu, the leaked one should work fine, I'm not sure about the OTA, but the leak seems to work for everyone.

Yea I never thought about that I forgot the leaked was basically the same as the OTA. Well that's what I got you guys for haha thanks man

Thanks button duuuuuuuude, lol it's cool man, always feels good to help someone.

Try changing your HBoot. Go to the OP of THIS LINK and try the SHP xxxx02 version. They try to reflash your RUU. Just be sure its the ICS RUU because trying to flash the GB one won't work with S-On after it has already been updated.

How to return to complete stock?

This might be a dumb question but how do i return the rezound to complete 100% stock? thanks
If you never flashed ics ruu leak you can relock and use gb ruu.. if you did ics ruu, then best you can do is a gb Rom...ics not out yet...so gb is the ofical stock.

if you are running leaked ics ruu, then best you can do is back to gb stock rooted rom.
Thanks .where can I find the gb stock Rom?

Don't forget to flash the GB SD Fix. I am having some difficulties locating a link for it.

If one changed the bootloader to be ra-vigor,

Ok good, just go through reading on how to flash custom roms, kernels, & AmonRA 3.15.
Once you read up and I mean READ you shouldn't have any issues if you decide to go to custom roms. Should be able to fix anything with the device once you have went through at least 3 custom rom flashes. I suggest one of the ICS roms as your first flash as it's rather straightforward vs rolling back to gingerbread from the RUU.
I thought the phone would say that you're re-locked if you tried to re-lock it. If that's the case, is there a way to revert that back to a "locked" status?

Only way for that to happen is if we get S-off for the device. Sounds like a method is done testing for the Rezound so a matter of them releasing it .
This doesn't return you to the old radios if you updated them, does it?
I have had bluetooth issues since going to the leaked firmware and ICS. Flashed everything multiple times, etc, etc with no improvements.
If there is a way to get back old radios and GB, or if this IS the way, I'll be ecstatic (or ex-static pun). From what I read I thought you couldn't get back to original radios.
Is this the solution to returning to old firmware?
Only way is with s-off and running a gb ruu. Doing those 2 things will give you back the gb radio.
You can run gb Roms until then....requires a sd card patch, check the op of a Rom and it explains it there. Might give a little better performance until s off is released.

[Q] Get back to stock from ICS

Hey guys I am S-On and I thought all I would have to do is relock bootloader and flash a RUU from Gingerbread TMO-US but it gave me an error saying HBOOT is too new, so I have no clue where to go from here, I've tried everything. Any ideas?

You can't go back to gingerbread unless you have s-off,because the ics ruu updates hboot/bootloader on install, I read that you can't even get s-off on the new ics ruu leak so I think your stuck with this untill someone comes out with a method for s-off on ics...
That's the risk you took when you updated. I had s-on aswell when the leak came out but I S-OFFed just to be safe, did not want to be stuck if I wanted to go back..
Sorry bud...

I may be wrong, but I read somewhere that you still can get an s-off after upgrading your device to ICS. I just went to the JuopunutBear Public Beta page and saw that they have ICS version, too.

No! I had no intention to correct you, or anything. I said, "I may be wrong" meaning I am not really sure! I did it the right way myself, so I didn't try the method.
Anyway, I hope the OP tries the method and report back to us with what happened for everyone's benefit!

How to get back to stock rom for s-off???

Im running cleanrom developers edition on my rezound at the moment and would like to s-off.
In the instructions on the unlimited.io website it says I should be on stock rom. How/where do i get the stock rom at? is it a RUU? Would I have to relock, flash ruu, unlock, flash recovery, root again to s-off?
Or am i over thinking this and just need to flash a certain rom in recovery and s-off from there instead of going the whole ruu route?
I really appreciate your help. i tried searching and couldnt find what i was looking for.
I think it works from a stock rooted gb Rom, but im not 100% sure. I unrooted and ruu'ed anyway; I'm doing s-off too soon. I was s-on and on old 2.11 hboot, but I just unlocked with "fastboot OEM lock" then ran the full gb ruu.

Yes it will work from stock rooted GB rom.... why not get everything done at once?
Lock, run the latest ICS RUU, unlock, flash recovery, then s-off...and you're all up to date!
Okay so i guess i am just going to go the RUU route and get it all done now at once. Thanks for the advice. Now I just need to research how to do all that lol. Any links would be appreciated.

I was messing around with the new boot loader on a new phone and managed to unlock and get a recovery, but SU wouldn't flash, then it said it flashed, but still didn't fash, So I went ahead and tried to flash a rom anyway hoping it would work because the rom was rooted, Wrong answer. lol
And the ONE thing I DIDNT do when I got the CWM was MAKE A BACKUP!!! So I screwed up bad.
Now I've bee stuck at splashscreens for 2 days on a 3 day old phone.
Yeah, me too. I need the RUU as well. I am running mean rom right now with the kernel that allows it to work with hboot 1.58. But I would like to be able to go back to stock if necessary.
If you're stuck with 1.58 like me I suggest you install mean rom and flash the kernel in the Mean-Rom folder on your SD card so your wifi and 4G work.
Yeah id like to have the official ICS RUU as well.

This is exactly what Sprint and HTC wanted to accomplish. I would give it time. The devs should have a smooth running ICS / kernel soon. I am betting they will have something for all HBOOTs out there. I am still sitting on my Mean ROM for GB... with 1.4. And I will wait to make the leap to ICS... because I don't feel we should have to leave 1.4
I like having the option of reverting back to stock in case I screw something up lol.

Don't run the JB RUU it is known to cause problems. Relock your phone and take the OTA. It is the safest way.
