For those who have gotten their GSIII's how do you go about adding the 50Gb of Dropbox space to an account you have already had?
you just sign in

Some other people said you get an email from Dropbox and have to do a series of steps (like for referrals). Someone needs to confirm this.
I just signed into App and it upgraded my account +48GB
Didnt Happen for me
Unfortunately none of the above worked for me.
I have raised a support task with dropbox to address my upgrade issues and am waiting to hear back.
If anyone else has any ideas in the meantime let me know.

You need to at least upload one file from your device, afterwards you should get the mail and space.

Great; and then again - who chooses which files to erase when it drops back to normal size after the 24 months period?

You did not get my point !! This access to 50 GB additional space must have certain time validity (6 Months , 1 year etc etc) , any idea regarding that ??
Secondly , putting anything important on DropBox would be risky so that's out of question , all we would put is some nice pictures clicked during our journeys to different places !
Dropbox 48gb granted for 2 years. That seems the validity time.....

Dont trust on this... :S
Personally, I wouldn't give a flying F**k about DropBox, but this is abusing their service. XDA isn't a forum to abuse others.
this loophole has been already patched, pls close this thread
I have seen a couple of threads where people stated they did not get the 23GB promo for having the app on their HTC phone. When you sign into the app drop box will send you an email and you have to complete 5 of the 7 steps to get it. In the attached picture these are the things I chose to get the extra 23GB. I hope this helps. (Also Sorry if this has already discussed)
Please note that this space is only valid for 24 Months.
Lol get on my level 45.48GB of free space
The problem is I have been a dropbox user for a long time and completed those steps back then. So now I can't complete them to get the 25 gb free.

I said having their email is like having their name... I think people are too paranoid with this stuff... gmail does a pretty good job at cleaning up the spam for me... so aside from that what else r u gonna get from my email other than what I put on the web?

To all developers, or users in need of hosting:
I recently purchased a website capable of hosting up to 50 users via FTP (47 left), and am willing to share for free, of course.
Information:
You'll get your own section on the site
99.9% uptime
Unlimited bandwidth
No data caps (Consistent fast connection and download speeds for users)
Although this one is sort of a given, I won't ever ask for any money from you.
Interested?
Send me a PM, and I'll set it up for you within 48 hours with explicit instructions as to how to upload to your new section of the site
Comment here if you have any questions regarding this offer
As the great @tommytomatoe once said, "Sharing is caring."
And how do you prevent the users from deleting your files when they log into the FTP to grab a file? Unless they can go to a website and download.

I can restrict their access to only their files
And the users will see a file directory similar to this:
www.MBQonXDA.net/anarkia1976
So they won't have access to the FTP..
