How do we take a screenshot with ICS then?
Is there a built in native function?
It is my understanding that sony did not put the screenshot feature into their build of ICS. I have not found a really good screenshot app yet, but if/when I do, I will keep you posted. Btw were you part of the psp scene? Any suggestions on a good screenshot app that works with the tablet s?

Simultaneously press and hold the tablet's POWER and VOL- buttons. After a couple of seconds and the screenshot image is momentarily displayed, release the buttons. It's a bit tricky to do, but after a few tries, you'll get the hang of it. The screenshots are stored in /sdcard/Pictures/Screenshots.
Thanks Cat! I found this right after I posted, thanks for the info! I am glad to see the screenshot is a feature os sony's ICS. Thanks.
Thanks Cat McGowan !
Now to post my homescreens !

Did you hold back then press the home key and not just pressing them at the same time?

In the new Froyo builds that started to pop up if you LP the back button it is supposed to launch a screenshot app.
I don't think it works on our Vibrants though.
I did it earlier by accident but I can't redo it.
Does anyone have a tweak or MOD that allows you to hold the menu button and something come up? As Sony Ericsson devices don't have a search button, I would really like to hold the Menu button to search.
Currently, on stock ROM, holding the menu button brings up keyboard(on LWW and others with onscreen keyboard).
Ah, I see you have Mini Pro.
I read about the remapping keys by long press and according to me, it was not possible yet on Xperia's. I am not sure right now, if I see/hear something, I will let you know.
On mini Pro just open the (HW) keyboard on the home screen and start typing. These are the search keys.

If you hold the home button, recent apps will appear. Not sure if you already knew that, tough

Of course I know that. Duh it's just that holding the home button to open recent apps is not comfortable, the button is too hard to press. Maybe its just me though

Put your hand flat as if you are going to do a karate chop (as the above poster stated) and wipe it across the screen from right to left or left to right (just like a scanner scanning a piece of paper). This will trigger the screen capture.
Mark.

Power + home pressed at exactly the same time. Hold for a second or 2 and done.

Two things. Need to make sure the swipe to screenshot shortcut is enabled in Settings > Motion. If this is ticked then it works if the front facing camera has enough light. So, in the same way that you need decent ambient light for the phone to check your eyes are open and to use face unlock, it needs the same for screenshots to work.

Hello great developers. Is there a way to change the function of the menu button to launch recent apps? Like it is in the newer devices and the on screen buttons. Thanks.

On my old tablet I could take a picture of me screen simply by pressing the previous app button, but this does not work on my Xperia. What's the best way of taking screenshots with this device?

Push and hold the power button. On the menu to turn it off there is a button to take a screenshot.

I tried that, but for some reason it would crop away the edges so I never had a full screenshot
I didn't notice this. Will check it tonight.
