S voice glitches - alarm - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I ask S Voice to set an alarm for 7am.. it says it's set. But when I check alarm, it will have odd alarms set.. like -5am instead of 7am. Anyone having this?

just to follow up, most times it will show -5:00am when i go to alarms, or sometimes i will ask it to set for 7am and it will show on s voice, 10:59 and then in alarms -1:-1 .. anyone have this?

.. anyone?

so no one else has come across this?

No vibrate on notifications?

I noticed today that my phone does not vibrate on notifications. When I put it in silent mode, it will vibrate for phone calls but not for any other notification such as SMS, Google Voice, etc. Anyone else having this issue?
EDIT...hopefully this will help someone. After reading the forum for a bit I found a reference to the Sound Manager app. I downloaded it and checked the settings. For whatever reason, vibrate for notifications for turned off on my phone. The strange thing is, I cant find this setting anywhere. Under notifications, all I have is the option to change the ringtone. After turning vibrate on in Sound Manager, everything works. So my question is, why isnt there a vibrate on notification setting in my phone?
settings-->sound-->vibration-->always.

Unfortunately, that did not fix the issue for me. I tried every possible setting in sound>>vibration and could not get vibrate to work for notifications.
Mine works flawlessly.

[Q] Need help turning something off

My wife started playing with my note , and I have notice that everytime I get an e-mail or call that my phone tells me " You got 1 new e-mail " or tells me who is calling. Anyone have an idea ?
I am confused as to what you are asking. You dont want to know when someone is calling you or texting you?
You can turn off notifications in the menu settings of the messaging app.
As for phone calls, well you will probably need to download a blocker app to stop phone call notifications.
Sorry for the confusion.
I don't know if she install something but does your Note notify you via voice that you got 1 new e-mail.
Or like when someone calls that this person is calling you or the number ?
It kills me to hear that while I am listing to music.
I think he means that it is talking aloud to him. I had that with some ROM I flashed on my last phone. I had to do into settings> applications > all applications and clear defaults/data on any app that had TTS in the name Example - Pico TTS. TTS stands for text to speech.
idk for sure, but perhaps she turned the Driving Mode on.
goto Settings / Voice Input and Output / Text to Speech settings.
is Driving mode checked green? if so, uncheck it and do a test call, see if it stops the phone from talking to you.

You are the BESTEST !!!!! LOL. Why she did that , I have no idea. For all I know she is getting kicks and giggles for it. But thanks. That was it !
It sounds like she turned on the Vlingo Voice App with Driving enabled?
I did the same thing when I first got the Note last week.
np Fred, lucky guess lol. i'm glad you asked, now i know what that option means

Voice notifications when receiving texts

So I'm not sure how this started happening, but today I started getting notifications when receiving texts. It sounds like it's the Google Play voice. I'll say "message from (name)", and I can't figure out how to turn it off. It says this whether I have the phone muted or not. Anyone know how to fix this?

Nevermind I found it. Driving mode enables that setting.

Allow notification sounds for app only if there is no notification one after another?

Hello,
I like having notifications for all apps turned on, but there is pretty annoying stuff going on in all messaging apps we have.
For example
-if someone is sending you texts or messages via messenger, whatsapp, or viber or anything else, you are getting constant notifications sound everyfew seconds.
-if you have group messages and people are sending messages you constantly getting notifications
My question is, is there a way you could enable for all apps that: If you receive notification from app X and get notification sound, and if you get another notification from the same app, the sound does not happen because it is such short time before last and this notification. And we could setup for example allow sound only after there was 1min or 5 min after last notification sound, when it allows for the sound to happen again.
That way you could receive notification sound only every 1min or 5min or whatever you setup, if you have group chat and people are constantly typing something. Because if not, you are getting the sound every 3seconds.
I hope you understand and can help with this
Thank you
