Have fun with a sub par phone company... sammy has always sucked in the phone department
this should've been posted in the GS3 thread, dude. no need to start a new thread in the section about the rezound, telling us that the GS3 got AOSP.
Wow...
Seriously tekhna, you've been a member here since 2007 and you're starting up a thread like this? Very disappointing.
I take that the LTE ril has been cracked too?
There's nothing in the GS3 section stating it's been cracked. Dude could just be blowing smoke.

u can't expect anything less from the cyanogenmod team really if our phone was officialy supported we probably wouldve gotten it to
This is a low blow dude. Thanks a lot.
They supposedly got RIL fixed but the bootloader is far from fixed, the kexec workaround has issues of its own including both cores not working if it's anything like the Razr variant.
EDIT: Supposedly this is fixed too.

Doesn't matter. Post it in those gs3 threads, don't start new threads about a phone that isn't the rezound. I'm getting sick of seeing gs3 threads all over this damn forum, and clearly so are other users. If you're getting an s3 then byebye:

Agree with this.
How about he goes and helps people in the GSIII forum? It's like going to AndroidCentral and seeing post after post about the iPhone and new BBOS. Sure, you might get a random article, but it's an Android site.
If people need help navigating their happy asses to the GSIII forum, they probably shouldn't be in a developer board in the first place.
You guys got your point across and yes this definitely isn't the area to be posting information about the GS3. If the thread has already been reported...what good is it to continuing posting in it?
Just sayin...
Yeah, I gotta agree. Stop coming to the rezound forum to gloat and brag.

What I'm wondering is, when RIL is finally released for the Rezound, will it be forwards and backwards compatible? Will GB, ICS, and JB all match up and work? Or is it specific to each?
Edit: I see someone started a discussion in the General forum while I was typing this. My apologies.
This belongs in general, not development
I'd bet that the ICS RIL would work with few or no modifications in JB, but then again I don't know a thing about Android development.
Sooooo yeah. JB is pretty sweet. Before I lost my Nexus, I had JB on it, and it was AWESOMELY smooth. Even pure stock was awesomely smooth

Getting sick of these posts saying this is why people leave XDA. If you all want to leave then leave. We don't need to see this post over and over and over again!
How is your post any better then people posting what should be in the development section.
You obviously are not in a hurry to leave because you are still posting here so stop with that BS already!
And if you do decide to leave, XDA will still run just fine without you. I would much rather see jayochs stick around.

ReZound
I think i posted before in the wrong section:
HI all, i recently purchased a ATT Note and love it. I have come back to droid after being on the iphone for a while. I fell in love with the screen. I almost sided with the Galaxy SIII due to the performance being so much better but the display model Note was not running ICS. So i got the note, brought it home and got it updated. Its a great phone, i love it. Especially for me being able to remote into my work computer and assist end users in troubleshooting. I am getting close to returning it though and getting the GSIII due to it being just so much faster. Is there a current ROM available that improves performance? There just seems to be so much lag when opening things up and when typing. The GSIII also has a nice screen but is noticeably smaller to me and that was a drawback but the performance is really better to me and things open instantly. Thanks for any input! I apologize for any repost i did a search and did not really see anything, Thanks for any help!
No, no ROMs exist for this phone.

Was it just me, or is there really that much of a performance improvement? It seemed much much faster than the note...
What are all the roms in the development section for the Note? Maybe i am using the wrong terminology...
I am looking for something with great performance and the largest screen i can get right now, so i guess that would be the GSIII, huh?
try the ipad
Lol
The note performs fine but spec-wise the GS3 beats it one way or the other (whether you have the international version or a variant).
To me it sounds as though you updated your note OTA and that's just going to cause you problems.
There are plenty of fantastic ROMs for the note here - whether you want to dabble with GB, ICS or JB.
Start reading.
I suggest you begin with the everything note sticky.

Thanks for some actual help. My last droid was a capitvate. I had to go iPhone for corporate email and such. They are finally supporting touchdown so i am back on droids. I did the update via Kies. I have some basic info now from few people (and you now, so thanks) to get started but my basic question is answered and that is the performance ca be improved so i dont have to switch to the GSIII. Thanks so much!
Performance can be greatly improved. Try flapjaxx uclf6 or hotwires for ics as both provide overclocking. HAve had great success with DaGr8 gingerbread with oc.
I haven't personally tried any of the other dev's roms but have read about them and it doesn't seem like you could lose with any of them. it is just all a matter of what you prefer to have feature wise.

What type of performance increase are you looking for because from personal experience (my brothers GS3) my note was running flappjaxxx's uclf6 rom and my phone was much snappier and responsive ..and the apps we ran side by side..pretty much a toss up on any graphical difference...now if he roots and roms his phone it might be different ...but I gotta work on convincing him(he's terrified of bricking)...good luck hope that helps...

If you must leave the Note, I suggest the One X. The screen on the SIII is pitiful. And, to top it off, I just left the One X for the Note. I can't tell any reall speed difference. The One X is, however, the sleekest and best built of the new "regular phones". I've heard multitasking complaints with the One X, but I never had any issues. By the way, I haven't sold the One X. I'll still be playing with it, too.
I've read a few of these threads and I've owned both the SG3 and the Note and my brother has a OneX. The performance difference is negligible with the right oc kernel, of which there are several to choose from. And the rom support for the note is off the charts. In my opinion your note is just as good as any phone on the market right now.

You think an update like this would be available for OTA and no one would have said something though? If it's a matter of him wanting to flash back, then just wait until the forums explode with people posting about whatever problems they've run into, then flash and pull it.
I'm with him on this one, let's not flood the forums with "are we there yet" posts. If common courtesy keeps people from posting, that's not a bad thing.

If I have not missed anything..... Verizon still has not officially said anything about the update being released? We are all still just assuming that the support document that was found was meant to be posted close to the update time? What if the posting of the document was just another mistake in the long line of mistakes that is the Thunderbolt?
The PDF files are publicly posted to me that's an announcement. Should be only another week or so.

I believe it will have a new hboot. And I believe it will be noticeable, like on the newer phones, if its ever been rooted with an unlocked bootloader. (Showing locked, unlocked, and relocked)
But that's just my guess.

I am due for an upgrade June 1st, and one of the biggest things I am looking at is the dev communities for each. I absolutely despise Touchwiz, which means, if I get the S4, I'm unlocking it literally the second it is in my hand, On the flipside, I would like to keep up with Android versions, so the 4.1.2 on the HTC One irks me a bit(so I'd unlock that as well). Anyway, I was wondering if any of the devs here are working on, or planning to get and work on, either of these devices. It would be kind of nice to keep the same ROMs across devices if possible. Thanks!
