I'm going to pre-order my AT&T Galaxy S III soon but I'm still stuck between white or blue. I think the blue looks sharp but if the faux metal texture is really visible and apparent that may turn me off from it. What do you guys think?
I visited Samsung HQ to test the S3 before launch (I work for Vodafone UK) and can tell you that the Pebble Blue is hidious! Such a shame really, they should have just made it black! Its personal preferance I guess but I chose the white one .
See, I disagree completely, I saw a blue demo model in my local Vodafone shop and thought it was gorgeous lolf
I have received this morning from Coolblue ( from the Netherlands) a Blue S3. Much nicer than the white S3 that I have seen in their shop.

I have also received the blue this morning from Coolblue but I can't use it before the end of the day because I'm at work
Most UK stores now have demo units of both colours and the darker frame of the blue creates a better contrast against the screen. From the front the blue edges it IMO. However, from the back the blue looks more like purple and just doesn't look right.
Nonetheless I've ordered the blue and happy to wait bcos I'll be slapping a slimline mesh case on the back anyway. Interestingly when I Google 'pebble blue or marble white' the few polls I found all were in favour of the blue. But it's best to see both yourself as tastes differ.
I find the metal effect to be noticeable but subtle. Most of the time it just looks like a fuzzy dark blue device.
That said I've only seen/used it in shops so far, my personal unit should be arriving today.
Basically once you slap on a back cover the back doesn't matter much.
It's just the front now. To me unless your phone is in a very bright area, it looks very much like black and similar to other models of black phone.
Whereas the white will always be contrasting in most situation. And I heard the white goes well with the blue pebble cover from Samsung.
But as most said here, better to see it yourself in person.
For me after seeing the blue version, I find the white better.

Looks nice man.. glad I chose that color. Looking at a screen + white is not a good mix IMO. Some have stronger eyes to withstand the condition, some don't.

That is such a worse camera quality, with that quality I couldn't even distinguish my mom from any other woman.
Only the Champagne-colored one will be available in sweden so that choice is easy (asus nordic will not handle warranty issues on tablets bought in the us wzich is a shame)

Sadly that is not a photo, it is a render.
I going for the gray... I want to get the dock but tiger did not have one listed for the gray =\ gamestop says thee pre-order it but... they don't say color... last thing I want is a champagne color dock and a amethyst grey tablet... don't care if its the back only that is just plain silly!

The photo 2 posts before is a little bit irritating: the champagne one is more gold.
Champagne Gold device looks like white gold, it is mostly silver with a slight touch of yellow hue in the mix. Quite visible here on an actual photo: http://www.engadget.com/photos/transformer-prime-preview-dock/#4651723

The renders that Asus has put up should not be trusted. Best you can do is go and see the device yourself and if that is not possible, then rely on photos more than Asus promotional images.
If I were getting one (I'm not), I'd go for the champagne. Much nicer than the grey, IMO.
Took me a real long time to decide which colour I wanted... I love purple but finally went for the Champagne. Looks like a better bet when it comes to stock level from the rumours we heard so far?
Amethyst gray so it doesn't resemble iPad but I have a feeling it will show fingerprints more than Champagne gold.

I preordered both but just cancelled the champagne one today.
I'm surprised so many people are going for the gray. To me, the champagne color gives it a very...premium look? I'm not sure how to describe it, I guess it makes it looks like a better version of the back of an iPad 2 or Galaxy Tab 10.1. I only see a little bit of a yellow tint to it, and when they first revealed it (before officially announced in November), that color just blew me away. Just my two cents.
Thought I would take some side by side photos of the Champagne and Grey primes while I have both. The Grey is going back to best buy this weekend.

how does the finger print smudging on the back compare? Does the champagne show fingerprints as awfully as the graphite does?
The Champagne doesn't seem to show the smudges nearly as much, but I have only had it for a day so I really can't say for sure.

btw .. i wouldnt sit it on the charger though, they look too fragile and at £25 at least to replace, thats if your lucky and it doesnt break the connector inside !

I agree with this, i've had both and i was always cleaning the grey version, i hardly need to do any cleaning with this silver one
Grey one looks much better n sleek looking ...the light colored one has more of a cheap look to it. Doesn't stand out it and pop like the dark grey one. I have the grey one

Ya, the Champagne was on its maiden charge and i was downloading ICS and all the updates for it and what not. Otherwise I wouldn't have had it plugged in.

One thing that i noticed is that the ASUS logo sticks out a lot more on the Champagne. The photos seem show this as well.
Why does my grey Prime doesn't look at all like the photo? It actually looks exactly like the PR images from ASUS...

It's just lighting in the photos. My grey prime also looks purple-y like the PR pictures. I prefer the colour, makes it look different from other tablets. : )
I've found it nearly impossible to photograph these things and really show their colors, partly because they both look so different in different lighting. Don't like how either of them look? Then just hold it at a different angle to the light...
I've had both side-by-side, and I think each has its charms. Interestingly, I do find the combination of the Champagne Gold tablet with the Amethyst Gray dock to be quite striking.
So I still can't decide on what colour edge to get. I thought the gold looked gaudy, but under store lights it looked more platinum, same goes with various pics I see online (always looks different). Not a big fan of bling and gold in general, but I wonder if the pics online mostly look so blingy because of lighting?

I was in the same deal, and obviously this was the main reason why I picked up this color, as you said it depends on the ambient light, and mainly mine looks more gold but I love the way it turns into platinum in certain situations is just awesome, at least for me

Very hard to explain, depends on lighting as well - either way, would be very hard to be disappointed - its a really nice colour for a phone
It's more goldy i would say. I have a black case on it so it dosen't look as blingy. Definately the best colour. I had the black one which used to look more blue lol

That's interesting, I reckon if the black was pure black I'd be more sold on it, as it is can't decide between the two. What made you switch from black?
Part of me also kind of thinks after seeing in store that maybe gold is more distracting/clashy for a front bezel colour when looking at content, compared to black or white?
I thought upgrading this year was gonna be simple given how Sammy has blown everyone out of the water, but now I'm stuck between edge/no edge and black/gold (even green now on the horizon here in the uk). Sometimes I wish they just made one colour, one model haha. Would be much simpler

One answer...go gold/plat...the best color and unique of all the choice as well..this color looks good when the screen is off as well.. The dark black screen against the colonial gold plat.. I also noticed the gold on s6 to be more blingy and gaudy. Had to shell 130 dollors just for that reason..the white s6 from the front looked ditto s4..the only model which looked unique and worthy of an upgrade was the edge and this color..and mind you I was upgrading from htc one m8 gun metal grey...so it had to be edge plat gold to beat it for me. IMHO, this is the best designed and cool looking phone in sometime...
I'm planning to buy the s6 edge this month and I was initially decided to get the gold version. I usually don't like the gold color on phones but this one on the edge isn't very pronounced and in different light situations it looks silverish. A gold device with a clear UAG case looks amazing imo.
The problem is, here in Romania, the gold version is ridiculously exepensive compared to the other models. The difference is almost 150 euro.
So I turned my eyes to the green model. I think it looks spectacular, but I'm personally not a big fan of green in general. I've never seen it in real life, only in videos, and I just find it kinda awkward.
Does any one own a green phone and have some impressions? I would prefer opinions from male members. I can totally picture a girl with it, but I guess that's what I find awkward about it, I think it looks kinda girly.
If anyone has a clear UAG case I would love to see some pics.

I have a green one but i like green in general. It was a love of the first sight. It looks either green, cyan or black according to the lighting conditions and plays nicely with light. Gold does the same. Green is in my opinion more subtle than gold. I just don't get it, how is it possible to have such a difference in price just for color? Have you searched other European nations? Here in Greece it costs 540 euros (any color). I don't know how much it is there.
Deff go with green. You will not regret it.. Gold is tacky color choice for electronics imo.

The gold one is pretty and definitely gets some attention but I think it's a bit to shiny and not a very special color.
The green one is way cooler, it has a color I have never seen on a handset before, it's beautiful in the sunlight but doesn't beg for attention. It's more subtle.
My choice: green! Most of my colleagues also prefer the green

I'll start it off. I went with the blue. I think the press photo doesn't do it justice. The in person color is way better than the pictures of it. The reason is because it reminds me of the Pebble Blue S3 from back in the day and I like the throwback feel of it. I also had black for my S8+ so wanted to "feel" like I upgraded. But most of all I like that it's different.

Went purple. Having a little remorse as it looks rather feminine. Got a clear case even before I got the phone. May go with a black case to cover up the purple, which looks too pink IMO.
I went with the Blue one, and I am very impressed. I have always had black phones, so I wanted to try something different. The pictures online made is seem more like a "baby blue", but I was glad to see this is more darker and almost like a blue-gray. I have the Speck Grip case (Eclipse Blue/Carbon Black color) and the blue case color matches the phone perfectly.
Originally went for the black, but retuning it for the the corral blue color. I usually always get black... It's time for a change [emoji16]

But the truth is it doesn't matter that much, because I put a case on these all glass phones anyway.

Coral Blue.
I despise AMOLED but almost every device now is using that screen tech. All of my phones have been black. I figured if I'm taking the AMOLED plunge, let's take a bigger leap and go blue.
I went with blue because I always go with blue when Samsung offers it. Check out Spigen's crystal clear offerings if you want to show off your phone.
Midnight black because there was no Titanium Grey available when I got mine. What a bummer. Maybe with the Note 9...
