Hello all!
I installed the newest version of Miui ( MIUI 1.12.9 ) and i got some questiont..
Its all fine but i got one problem, i cant find my apps i had.. i did a factory reset in cwm and all but i didnt wiped my sd card.. my memory sais that there is 4GB of 11GB free so, my sd card still has the data in it, but it seems that i can not access on it? Someone had the same problem or do you have a solution?! please i dont know what to do.
Thanks for all answers!
you cant expect the apps to be there when you dont do a backup...the files on your sd are not the apps...that are just the files the app creates...you had to backup them with titanium backup for example...all you can do now is to download the apps from market...i guess it should work then.
jesh, that works i tried it, dl an app from market installed it and worked.. but ok, how to wipe my sd card?? and why i cant copy my contacts from sim card? and is there no app drawer?? or only the homescreens? thanks

You have to install app again..becoz /sdcard only stored data
sry im not miui user i cant tell you that much about it...if you wanna wipe sd either you can do it through settings or you simply delete anything on your sd card...and miui has no appdrawer...if you want that download it seperatly...google for miui sites and read a bit then youll find what you want to know
MIUI doesnt have an app draw, it has home screens much like you would find on iOS.
If you want and app draw and MIUI you would need to use a different launcher (ADW,GoLauncher, ect).
As it has been answered already, the files in your sd card are only files used by the applications. However i have noticed when i used MIUI for a while that some apps would install to the sd card and need to be moved manually.
From memory so it might be wrong, go in to settting and go to storage and there should be an option there to mount/unmount internal sd card, you should be able to format it from there.
Hello, i'm new here and I have a problem
I have an xperia mini pro, version 2.1.1.
I tried downloading Temple Run as an apk, and even used App Installer, the problem is, it says "App cannot be viewed, Free up some space on your phone and try again" - I have a lot of space on my sd card, around 2gb, around 75mb in my internal phone storage, but temple run still won't install, even though it's only 26 +/- mb. Any solutions? Hope you can help, thank you.
are you in stock rom?? it happens when you try to install it??

I installed the [DEV] [WIP] ICS / CM9 (4.0.4) Alpha 5 - 3.1 kernel - Last update 21/04/2012. Compared to the previous notice that has changed the home screen. The problem is that to reinstall my applications I have observed that Google Play three partitions: Toshiba Folio100, Unknown Rk29sdk and Motorola Xoom and my applications are for either. Is there any android program to view / join these partitions?. How I can fix this?

I don't understand the problem. Is External SD card in your Folio? Add some pictures. Dev manager is an app? Does Folio recognize Internal SD?

Why don't you use simple SD card for your apps. And one more thing why to have backed apps if they are on the market? Upload your stuff to Google Drive or other FTP server! Maybe I don't understand something?

When I enter the PC Play Google and downloaded an application to install it gives me a choice between Folio100 Toshiba, and Motorola Xoom Rk29sdk Unknown. When I connect via wifi tablet apps are downloaded, but it says out of space, but I have 14 GB free. I do not know if the tablet has three partitions for Folio100 Toshiba, and Motorola Xoom Rk29sdk Unknown or this is not true. I do not know if I explain well. Thanks for your instructions.

When you downloading apps from tablet(Folio100) says out of space.(You have 14GB free space on your INTERNAL SD).Yes? Try cleaning "Dalvik cache" via recovery or delete everything via fastboot: erase userdata, system, cache, linux, recovery and flash recovery and ROM.

What kind of "partitions"? What tablet have three partitions? I thought partitions are only on Hard Drives(PC)?

Everything is going well? Do you mean that now you can move applications to the SD card? If you still don't have that option, like me, then you haven't solved the problem, you just temporarily freed some space.
I have tried a couple of solutions I read on this forum weeks ago, one is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492081
and another one I can't find the link but it required creating an ext4 partition on the SD card (and my Folio wouldn't load Android anymore)
I have not solved the problem: I have understood. Now I know that I have only the first GB for applications and the rest to mp3, avi, epub, etc. etc.
Greetings.

Some research in the DEV-forums could've given you sufficient information on the subject... The latest Android ROMS cope with insufficient space on the application partition. The new ROMS will use a different partitioning scheme which leaves you with less room to store files, but a little bit more room to install applications...

Move all apps into internal storage then try to install the app!
I rooted my phone yesterday and installed foldermount so i can store large games on SD card. It's working fine with apps less than 500mb because i only have 500mb available in SD card. First I have to download the big games into internal, then move them to Sd card using foldermount to free up space in internal memory.
However, i cannot do so with very large games like Asphalt 8 because i don't have 1.5 gb free space in the first place. Please give me some advice.
Download asphalt 8 data, apk from sites like http://onhax.net/asphalt-8-airborne-apk or something else(you can get many sites by searching in google)
then proceed same way you did before..

In my opinion Link2SD is the best app to solve the problem of low internal memory, it works great for me. Take a high speed class SD card and create two partitions (FAT32 and EXT4) using Minitool Partition WIzard or Gparted if you use Linux. And then download and install Link2SD from PlayStore. Run the app and link everything to SDCARD (ext4 partition). I advice you to buy the plus version because it allows to link the internal data too, so more free memory.
About the installation of large games like Asphalt. Well, Link2Sd allows to link the game (or any app) automatically on SdCard once you finished to install it from PlayStore. Just go on the settings and select "auto link".
There's a good video on youtube on how to use the app. Just search: "How to use link2sd to move apps to 2nd partition(SD card)"
Of course other videos are great too, but this is one of the best imho

Thanks for the reply. Thing is, i can't install asphalt 8 from play store in the first place because it needs 1.4 Gb and i only have 500mb free internal memory. I need a way to download it directly to the linked folder in SD card.
I also tried downloading apk and obb, but still I have to first copy the large obb in internal memory, then link it to SD card, which is not possible due to low internal memory.
Install xposed and xinternalSD, he download data/obb automatically to the sd, and use Link2SD to link all applications. I use these methods, and I have 1.37 GB free memory. but I have apps 2,8GB.
I made a video teaching how to configure xinternalsd in kitkat, but is the same configuration in Lollipop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ-SeWG3dVQ
(Sorry my bad english)

Oh you mean in the first moment, now I understand. Sorry, my mistake
Btw you're right, because at this point it's even impossible to download the game from PlayStore. Well, I think the only way is to remove all the bloatwares and apps you don't use. And through Link2SD link all the installed apps you can to SD. Once you have more free space and you reached about 1.5gb try to install the game (and link it to sd). You can also consider to try a custom rom if you are not using it, generally speaking it has more free space than stock rom.

I just recently rooted my device and i am very inexperienced with these stuff. I'm not sure I'm ready to mess with custom recovery and Xposed modules right now, but it sure seems like it's the solution i need. Anyway, I'll try to search for easier alternatives, but if i can't, I'll have to use this one.

Ok, I installed link2sd, partitioned my SD card and sent ALL my downloaded apps to the partition in SD card. I now have 1.3 GB free in my internal, but to download asphalt 8, I need 1.6 GB free.
I know that i can also remove pre-installed apps, but i'm not sure about it. Please tell me if it's safe to move/remove the following apps:
-Hangouts
-Google Play Newsstand
-Google Play movies and TV
-Motorola Assist
-Motorola Alert
-Motorola Migrate
-Google Play Music

Yes you can, I removed all of them.
To uninstall you can also use "system app remover", download it from Play Store

I uninstalled some pre-installed apps, still I didn't have enough space. So, i dug around the internet some more and finally found the solution!
You can actually use foldermount to install large obb files DIRECTLY INTO SD CARD instead of just moving them from internal to SD card. Link2SD only allows us to move from internal to SD, but foldermount did the trick!
However, Link2SD allows me to transfer Apk, Dex, Lib and internal files as well, so I guess I'm keeping them both! Thanks again for recommending Link2Sd for me.
I haven't tested with Asphalt 8 yet, but it works with NFS Most Wanted, wich is over 2GB in size.

Yeah FolderMount is good too. It depends on what we have to do. I'm currently using Link2sd because it works great for me but other solutions (like the one proposed by brundark) are always welcome. By the way I'm glad you solved the issue
For asphalt 8 download the game from pc or on ur friends or family member's phone..who have more inbuilt memory..then transfer the obb & apk to ur sd card..n install apk n place the obb accordingly. will work like charm.
n regarding how to run obb files from sd card..just download "obb to sd " from xposed.. app in KB size.. so u dont have to install folder mouny n do evetything manually..this module does everything on its own.. i play big Gameloft n EA games easily.

Thanks for the help, but I'm sticking with foldermount now, since size isn't my biggest issue. I'm also new to these stuff, so I'll save Xposed for later. I don't really feel like trying everything at once, and theres so many things to try out there!(I haven't even flashed a custom rom yet)
