Stuck in fastboot - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Used Regaw root
TWRP as recovery
Viper ROM
google wallet not working even though I cleared it reset to factory before rooting. So I started to unroot followin QBKING77's video on relocking before unroot now I'm stuck in fastboot

And this is in development, why? Why don't you post this on to the Regaw thread?

What do you mean you're stuck in fastboot? Did you get a RUU installed? When you hold the power button for 10 seconds, what does it do on the reboot?

Yes I did the RUU when I did all of the root, recovery and the Viper mod. Followed up with th eRUU the wallet never syncronized! Figured I would Unroot follwed QGkings video to relock before unroot now no matter what I do stuck in fastboot

Ok. You need to run the RUU or something. Sounds like there IS a ROM on there because it wouldn't show tampered if the filesystem didn't have root.
Have you tried using the htcdev unlock again on it?

You'll need to either run a RUU or unlock and flash a stock recovery and boot image. The security warning is because you have S-ON and are using a modified kernel/recovery.

Yes the S-on is active Tried RUU get error 140. dont know what HTC Dev other than Regraw. that doesnt work either! Keeps saying not Evo 4g lte

The 140 error, I believe, is from having a bad connection. You may need to reinstall and then uninstall htc sync to get the proper drivers before it'll work.

i have the same problem any answers

Install the generic HTC drivers and check under devices that its detecting your phone
sent from my EVO LTE

nope
i did a new install of htc driver the same ver to root. and no good under devices it shows andriod- htc but i can get to it under the c drive

my phone is stuck in a boot loop, any help?

You are probably used to the one-click everything. Installs recovery, s-off, unlock bootloader and root.
What you did, sounds like JUST root. Next step for you would be to unlock the bootloader via HTCDEv. Once you do that you can install a custom recovery.
That's the current state of options right now.

Is anyone having problems with rom manager in recover. I've rooted my HTC EVO LTE and unlocked the boot loader with HTC DEV. Then flashed recovery from rom manager. Then when I start recovery, rom manger recovery loads, but when ever I choose an option it goes no where and just sits with the hat. None of the options like reboot system, install zip from Sd-card, or advanced work. All of them take me to a black screen with hat and don't take me anywhere. What am I doing wrong. Any suggestions?
Attached is the error file that I get when I attempt to use recovery.
Do I need to partition my Sd-card in order to get it to work. It's been a long time since I did this, I can't remember if I need to do this in order to get it to work?

[Guide] Quick And Dirty Return to 100% Stock for Evo 3D/V (S-OFF Only)

It seems like the questions about returning to 100% stock are coming up more often lately, possibly because more users are moving on to other devices. Whatever the reason, I thought a simple guide might be useful to avoid having to duplicate this info in other threads and PM's.
This procedure should work for any CDMA or GSM Evo 3D/V that is S-OFF. There is no way to get an S-ON device that has been HTC unlocked back to 100% stock since relocking the bootloader will result in a status of "relocked".
Here are the steps to do it:
1. Flash the "query_bootloader.zip" file attached to this post in recovery. If the status message shows your bootloader is "unlocked" or "relocked" flash the "lock_bootloader.zip" file from the same post to reset it to "locked".
2. Download an RUU.exe (Windows) or RUU.zip (bootloader) file for your model from this page and flash it using the appropriate method.
If you use the .exe version from Windows it works best if you put the phone into "fastboot USB" mode, and you may have to cancel the RUU utility and restart if it hangs after flashing the stock bootloader when you start with a custom hboot installed.
To flash the RUU.zip via the bootloader it must be renamed to PG86IMG.zip and placed in the root of your SD card, and may need to be flashed twice if a custom hboot is installed the first time it is flashed.
I recommend using the latest version for your model but any compatible RUU can be flashed while S-OFF. It's also a good idea to boot the ROM without doing any setup after flashing the RUU to make sure the ROM has been reset to the stock version.
3. Confirm that the bootloader shows "***LOCKED***" on the top line of the screen and the HBOOT version is a stock bootloader for your device.
4. Issue the "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" command from a PC.
Note: Make 100% sure you have the stock bootloader installed before issuing this command or you will brick your phone.
Your phone will now be 100% stock.
ramjet73
Thanks for the nice toturial but i´m just wondering one thing.
If you fail with the command
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
, will your phone get hardbricked or is it possible to flash a recovery and start over again with fastboot?

If that command fails nothing will happen and your phone will stay S-OFF but the odds of that happening are very small unless your phone is not in "fastboot usb" mode when you issue it.
The risk involves issuing that command when you have a custom hboot like JBear or Revolutionary installed because those bootloaders are not signed and will cause the phone to brick. In that scenario you would not be able to get into recovery.

Ok thanks man.
Ok, in the RUU's I can download I have 2 problems:
1) How do I know which one to download? I see a few that have Sprint ICS. I have the Virgin Mobile phone Evo V 4g. Which one would I get?
2) I have already tried downloading a few of them, and each time it stops at a different point and windows says the zip file is not valid. Is there another place I can download the correct RUU?
I need to get this done soon as I have a replacement headed this way.

This is the wrong thread for what you need to do and I posted a link to the correct guide in the thread you opened in the development forum that got moved to Q&A.
When you are ready to download the RUU look for the 2.89.651.2 version.

thank you ramjet for the link. my phone is now 99% stock. The 1% is because of the S-OFF part of the bootloader. It shows it is locked so that's good, but I think that means I can't turn S-ON, as it says in the first post. Oh well, hopefully they will accept it like that.

Which RUU do i use for a Sprint Evo 3?
I'd like to follow the instructions here; you pointed me to this OP in another reply when I asked how to go back to stock, but I don't know which one to use. I'm on hboot 1.50.5050 running CM 10.1 on a Sprint Evo 3D, using "Wild for the Night" and I want to go back to 100% stock, S-ON, unrooted, locked.
Is 'WWE' the US version? I know not to use RUUs for other countries but I can't tell which to use from the list.
(I used the jbear wire trick and have Ext4 installed if it makes any difference.)

[Q] Unroot and lock bootloader

Hey guys. Yes I have searched, but have only found instructions so far for going back to stock gingerbread.
I need to send my amaze in to get fixed under warranty, and I'm assuming they won't like it if I send them the phone with an unlocked bootloader, rooted, and CM10 installed, and that's what I need help with. How can I reinstall stock ICS, unroot, and lock the bootloader of the amaze? And will it show as "relocked" or "locked"? Of course I plan on putting the root and unlocked bootloader and CM10 once I get it back, so I'm looking for a reversible way to do this. Thanks in advance!
Just to be clear. For your bootloader to say 'locked' you'll need to have S-Off and NOT unlock the bootloader again. But once that's done just flash the ICS ruu. Here's a link

Thank you. So I am S-ON right now. In order to make the bootloader say "locked" again to make HTC happy with my warranty, I'd have to be stuck with ICS and whatever updates HTC decides to give us from then on once I got it back from HTC?
No. That's the only way for it to say "locked" if you relock it it will say "relocked"
So if you really want it to say "locked" you'll need to S-Off first. Then flash the RUU.
Once you get it back you can do as you feel.

Im just not really sure which part u think would make it stuck. Let us know and im sure we can explain the cofusion
After unlocking the bootloader with S-ON and installing a custom recovery/rom how do you revert to Stock.
I've tried relocking the bootloader, and using the AllinOneToolkit by Hanson to install the Factory RUU but it keeps failing after the HTC boot logo appears and the zip RUU file gets transferred to the phone. Keeps saying Failed with 12 signatures or something.
Then I read with S-ON that you had to use Hanson's tool and perform Fix Mainver, but that doesnt do anything either. Keeps saying, error cannot find device.
So, how do I go back to Stock?
Would appreciate any help!
Boot into fastboot, type "fastboot OEM lock" in the command prompt. Put the appropriate RUU on your external SD card and rename it PH85ING.zip and boot into bootloader.
Edit: its PH85IMG.zip. sorry about my fatty fingers. Also, make sure to check the md5 sum on the RUU. I always had trouble with the download.

Your storage is likely corrupt. You can format it with your PC but this will delete everything from your storage. All you need to do is download the SuperSU zip to your phone and flash it in recovery, then you'll be rooted. You'll also need to install the SuperSU app from the Play store if it's not included in whatever ROM you flash. Once you've done this you can start the S-off process.

If you have any important files on your internal storage copy them to your PC. You can download the SuperSU zip afterwards and use your computer or a file manager to move it to your SD card if you'd like but it won't matter where you put it, it's just personal preference.

Help recover my Evo 4G LTE

I would like to start out with saying that I am not new to rooting/roms but a lot has changed since I went to iOS. I have TWRP accessible and I can push files to my /sdcard/
I have tried several rooms but all of them fail to install.
Can someone please tell me the steps I need to take to go back to either stock or have another ROM working? (RUU fails as well, however it does detect the phone)
Any help is appreciated and trust me I spent hours reading threads so not just posting this for an easy way out.

Second, gonna need WAY more info about your phone. I assume you're rooted? S-off or S-on? What hboot version are you on? What version of TWRP are you currently using? What ROM are you on now? What RUU are you trying to use? Gonna have to give a little bit for us to work with.

First, this should probably be in the Q&A section
Second, gonna need WAY more info about your phone. I assume you're rooted? S-off or S-on? What hboot version are you on? What version of TWRP are you currently using? What ROM are you on now? What RUU are you trying to use? Gonna have to give a little bit for us to work with.

I apologize for posting this in the wrong forum, like I was saying I haven't been here in a while and signature is outdated by about 6 years
Heres the info
TWRP v2.7.1.0
S-ON
HBOOT-2.10.0000
RADIO-1.13.11.1105
I had the last leaked RUU installed before I attempted flashing a custom ROM
Thank you for your reply!

Is your goal to flash another ROM or to go back to stock?
If you're going to be trying to flash another ROM I'd highly recommend running rumrunner and getting s-off. Otherwise there are a lot of hoops you'll need to jump through in order to flash ROMs (for starters, you'll need to flash the kernel separately).

Whichever one is faster, I just want the phone up and running again.
So it's not running at all now? I'm assuming you can boot into bootloader and recovery but nothing else, right? You can run an RUU while in fastboot if I recall, which will give you at least a usable phone. That's also probably the fastest thing to do.
After that I'd highly recommend using rumrunner to get s-off. Otherwise flashing new ROMs will be a bear.

RUU fails with errors and it gets stuck at "HTC" screen
Do you have HTC Sync installed on your computer?

Ah, I think something else made me delete it.
That'll do it. You need to have HTC Sync and all of the necessary drivers to run the RUU

D'oh! I bet your bootloader is still unlocked. It needs to be relocked before running the RUU.
Fastboot command 'fastboot oem lock' ought to do the trick.
