No it doesn't the rom dev decides if it will be odex or deodex. You can unzip the rom and look it see if it has odex files or you can read op of the rom you wish to flash(dev's usually say what it is)

In the system/app folder, if a ROM is odex, you will see that some apps will have a .apk and also a .odex while deodex ROMs will only have the .apk files.

I'm really getting in this dev thing and i want to learn some dev in android. Can someone enlighten me how to odex and deodex a rom? I try to search but some part of odexing, I really can't understand at all. Please help me.

Just use zeephilin method and for odexinf use "Spacious_ICS_supercharged_services"
for service patch.just install this .zip and install from cwm

Odex Rom have many system guard files in system/framework and it won't let remove / replace / mod
Meanwhile if you have deodex rom then you can theming / mod / replace without anyproblem

Open root explorer and go to system/framework and find if there have any .odex file or not ! If you see no .odex file then it's mean that you are deodex ! Don't worry if you see a file ( The one that have .obex )
My ROM is deodex
I searched for the .odex file but it's not there, just .jar files one .apk file and as you said one .obex.jar file!! I guess this means that my ROM is deodex and I can do a lot of stuff without any problems!!!

I used that one. I was wondering to do this maybe a sh script without actually taking the whole ROM out like we have for Zipalign init.d script.

Hi friends. I have read a few guides of how to deodex stock roms. I will use xUltimate.
I need to deodex only a few apks. I don't need to deodex all system apks nor framework.
Is correct to make this in this way, or is necessary to deodex all framework and all apks?

ya you can one apk is associated with one dex file so its on individual basis btw a cwm backup would be handy before flashing
I want to install a factory image and then customize it. I think is the cleanly way. But was afraid to mess it up.

There are many forums showing mod files which can be easily flashed into custom roms and doesnt work with stock odex roms
what i want to do is. i want to convert those mods which works for deodexed rom to mods which work for stock odex roms.
i tried finding this on the forum. but couldnt find any.

Sorry mate i don't know of any method of theming or modifying odexed apks so converting mods for deodexed apks into odex is a no go afaik
