I tried to flash the official ICS, but it keeps getting stuck on the HTC boot screen, so I tried other ROMS with the same thing happening.
I've looked at the ROM bible and stuff and I can't seem to figure it out. Its so confusing. I don't know how to flash the stock recovery and I looked for a way and couldn't find it. I have flashed kernels and stuff, but same result.
I have successfully rooted and flashed the Amaze 4G with the BeastMod ROM which was done around 6 months ago, so I pretty much forgot how to flash. The only thing I remember is that it was kind of difficult.
I want to flash SpeedROM or EnergyROM, but right now I just want the official Ice Cream Sandwich on my phone. I don't care if it unroots my phone.
I do not want a leak, I want the official OTA. (the last 3 build numbers 626 and 660 are different, so they aren't the same I suppose)
Step by step (noob-proof) instructions are needed.
Any help is appreciated. Been working on this all day with no success. Thanks!

well his signature provides me with only leaked roms. I can't find Krook's thread from the Amaze Bible. What makes me annoyed is that I read in the Bible that need to S-OFF to be able to revert back to GB. -_-
btw: you should put that link you gave me with how to use OTA files in your signature underneath where it says "Want to upgrade your HTC Amaze to ICS?" cuz thats what I was following before posting in this thread LOL
EDIT: Spoke too fast. My bad lol

If you can wait until the morning, I will have links up with flashable zips of complete stock tmobile and telus roms.
Or you can read the bible and find the stock backup we made, simply follow the instructions how to restore the backup via recovery and you'll be back on complete official OTA stock.

I really can't wait till morning (I have something really important to do in the morning), but do provide it in the morning just in case.
Do you have a link to that specific thread?
BTW: glacierguy, I tried to do the steps, but it didn't work. Plus the ROM is still in the custom recovery. :/

You're on ICS already? Correct? What custom recovery do you currently have installed?

Nope. I had BeastMod ROM. Then I tried to install OTA ICS. Updated through HBOOT. Then the htc logo has been appearing since.
I had CW, but not using Hasoon's toolkit I changed it to stock. I still tried flashing the official ICS, but it still doesn't work. :/
Edit: Good news, I got the ICS latest leak on my phone working (I had to do fastboot oem lock). Now how do I update it to the official one?

Didn't work because you are supposed to be on complete stock, there's flashable zips of the latest OTA in the Amaze bible thread, you can flash ether of those to get the latest stock since their both made from the latest OTA files, but if you flashed the latest leak then you are already on the OTA software.

Ok so i have been out of the ROM loop for a bit, so i figured i would ask questions before trying to do so. I am wanting to run the newest ROMs running the leaked ICS VM base, but everywhere i see, it says to upgrade your firmware? I've looked all over the place and have yet to see the upgradeable firmware i need to do so! Can anyone please clarify this for me or at least point me in the right direction.
You don't need to upgrade anything. I'm on the original firmware and the only thing that was working, but has since stopped was the camera. I also haven't updated the rom since it was released, so that could be the problem. I did run into a problem when I first installed it. Using rm -rf instead of formatting the partitions did not work. It kept boot looping, but changing it back to format worked.

well see my issue now is that i flashed it just fine like i would any other ROM (no FW upgrade) but it sits on the splash screen. this now happens with ALL ICS ROMs. at first they randomly rebooted but now the only ones that work on it are older ROMS (GB, FROYO) but ICS will not boot. i guess i might have to wait until the offical release hits for us

DO NOT FLASH THE VIRGIN MOBILE FIRMWARE / VIRUS!!!!!!!!
As for the bootlooping, if you are hboot 1.5 s-on, then ICS does that unless you use Chad's kernel (which breaks USB and 3d camera). I recommend you get s-off by downgrading to hboot 1.4 or use the wire trick. See my signature or the stickes in the cdma development forum (assuming you are CDMA) for more information.
deadlocked007 said:
Calm down bud. There is no virus but he is correct. Do not update if you have hboot 1.5 if you are s off then fire ahead using the update package from freeza. Then use the mod to convert it to sprint. After that go be flash happy.

I'm not the one who called it a virus - many of the devs who worked tirelessly trying to rid our phones of that firmware coined that one. From what I've read throughout the forums, I would highly recommend against flashing that, even using the mod to convert it to Sprint. Every ICS ROM I have tried (CDMA) has ran fine using Freeza's all in one version 2.17.
deadlocked007 said:
Well if he gets s offed then he can choose himself haha. I prefer to use the vm firmware. Seems perfect for me. But yet again I've been here from the beginning. Got s off the first day revolutionary was released to public and all that.

Could be only s-on people had issues removing it, but I personally would not risk it. The ics roms all work fine without it if you are s-off. Deadlocked I am genuinely asking (seriously not trying to be argumentative): what benefit you see from using it since afaik, there is none.

I am finally selling my HTC Evo view 4g....
I believe I am running Cypher1.0beta HC rom
But I'd like to go to just normal stock Honeycomb.
I just can't find any working links to the root tool that allowed you to flash back and forth. Or just a flashable stock rom since they are all megaupload.com based.
What are my options?
I think I have a nandroid, but it might be a Gingerbread nandroid that I made when I first rooted it, so it probably won't help.
I found the HTC evo view 4g page on HTC's website, but it just tells you how to use OTA.. not how to download and install manually with RUU.
Any advice?
Thanks

Thx again
hi what was ur stock rom?
Hello, my apologies if this problem has arisen in the past. however, after rigorously browsing the forums, I came up short.
When I install/ flash the jellybam rom or cm10.1 rom, the screen stops working except for in bootloader and twrp recovery. I heard you have to downgrade the touch panel, how do i do that?
I have;
-HBOOT 2.09
- build 3.19 and I belive everything else is up to date on the latest software.
I _think_ you need to update the touch panel drivers/firmware also, located here: http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...LE-Jewel-Radio-Collection&p=220556&viewfull=1
tp_SYN3202.img is the latest, but it says it will break touch screen in recovery and on non-stock roms if done incorrectly.
I would ask this question in captain_throwback's latest firmware thread before you install tp_SYN3202.img
I'm only pointing you in the right direction, I have NO experience with updating the touch panel .img - please ask someone who has dealt with this before you do ANYTHING (I just dont want you to break your evo!)

The newest touch panel firmware doesn't work with AOSP, AOKP, 3.15 based ROMs (or lower), or older recoveries..You need to revert to the old TP firmware before flashing any ROM not based on 3.16.

As far as I know all the files are located in Capt Throwback's firmware thread. You probably need S-Off to flash them though. The new 3.16 OTA updated the touchscreen's firmware. This new update is only good with the latest TWRP and 3.16 based roms..so to flash anything on the old base or AOSP you need the old touchscreen firmware. Hope that clears it up a little.

Yes, I've finally got it to work! Thanks for all the support. All I had to do was follow dirty racun's s-off method. For some reason doing that my build number went from 3.16 to 3.15 and my band version downgraded from 1.12.11.1210 to 1.12.11.1119.

I seem to have the same problem.
I'm running the viper rom on my evo 4g. Was going to upgrade to the latest version and wanted to update firmware first.
I grabbed the latest twrp (4.2.1) installed that, rebooted.
I then grabbed the latest firmware from themikmik, installed that and rebooted.
And i then grabbed the tp_syn3202 update and installed that and rebooted
And now my touch screen does not respond to any touch input. I don't know what to do at this point since they only thing i can do is either force the phone to reboot, or go into hboot by holding down the volume down and camera keys. And all that does is ask me if i want to reinstall the tp update.
I don't know how to get into twrp to even try and install the latest rom assuming that would fix the issue.

nevermind - i got it. I didn't realize if i left the PJ75img.zip file on there it would automatically go into trying to update and not give me any other option. I deleted that file and then i was able to get into twrp and install the rom update.
Thanks

You have to downgrade your touch panel driver to the 3.15 version. Check the thread below and go to the downloads link in the first post. The touch panel driver is installed the same way you upgrade firmware, through the bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704612
On the page with the downloads, the touch panel zip is in the second post and is labeled " tp_SYN3202.img zip". If you've forgotten how to do a firmware update, hit the top link in my sig and look for the section on firmware updates.
Seriously though, there are plenty of newer, up-to-date ROM's out there. Why would you bother with this one?

is there any method that works ???? im already rooted with recovery and all
Last time I checked, there was no s-off method for the newest update yet.
Someone said on another thread you could try to flash the 1.27.531.8 RUU and then try to S-off from there. Havent tried it myself so i can't confirm if it works.
That is why I never run RUU, ur already rooted, use rooted stock roms.... I don't like running the RUU for the reason of all the new firmware, HTC usually tries to block everything we do. to make things harder..
I think the problem ur having is something with the new firmware, possible HBOOT...
Maybe you could try this but with Tmobile nandroid, etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394155
MN0491 I think saw the same thing I did. It seems a little more involved than just RUU though

I can say if you s-off'd PRIOR to flashing the .11 RUU, you will keep it. Dunno about if you've already done it though.
Why there is not any rooted ROM with the last update?
Also where do I find the rooted roms of previous versions?

I'm sure you can, but you already have all of the updates, since you already installed the OTA. They have stock and rooted roms. From looking at all the posts, it kills the s-off exploits if you went back to stock and returned to s-on before updating. I saw some posts of flashing an older or newer Rom to try to open the exploit again, I'm not sure they were successful though. I waited a week or so and saw that some users didn't return to s-on and just ran the ruu and they were still s-off. I updated my radios and and firmware with team nocturnals and I received the camera software updates and were able to install.
Hey Guys,
I have an unbranded HTC Amaze(Asian Version), s-on and rooted, recently I tried to flash Cyanogenmod 10 on it using 4ext, it flashed fine, but after starting, it kept hanging and rebooting, so I researched a bit and found out that my firmware is still the old gingerbread one, and to upgrade it I would have to turn s-off first.
However, I found a stock T-mobile Gingerbread ROM ,and flashed it its working fine now, and the it also allows me to update the system to ICS officially using the update available.
But my question is that if I update my android officially using the ICS update available, would it update my kernel as well? So I may be able to flash custom ICS roms on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thnx
Yes, it'll upgrade the software, kernel, and radio. But it's not recommended to do.
There's a link to the guide to upgrade the Asian amaze in the OP of the viper thread.
Follow the guide and read it thoroughly first.
Afaik you should use the guide and it'll then you'll be good!
